I grew up coming to the Cape for summers growing up-always feels like 'coming home'!
We love the quiet, nestled by all the trees yet close enough to walk to the beach yet town (Falmouth) and shops are 10 minutes away!
We rented this summer for one week in August. The house had plenty of space for our multi generational bunch. We sat in the backyard with little white lights at night and in the morning with our teas. It was very private without any sight of neighbors. Really appreciated having all linens, etc and laundry in the basement. We brought our bikes and they were indispensable getting to market, beach, town, and woods hole. The bike back to the house is up a hill but most of our hardy bunch pushed upwards, easy walk if you must though. Some of us did a short run to the beach each day and it was lovely with the harbor and the osprey nests. We did not buy the beach sticker but instead did drop off and bike back. The water at Chappy beach is wonderful and when the tide got too high we could just set up chairs on the far end of the parking lot...sunsets are a must. You should bring your beach chairs because the beach can get narrow and make sure you walk the beach and look for sea glass or mother of pearl shells! The kids really felt safe on the sandbar too. On our last day we parked at a nearby bike path lot for free and enjoyed the beach one more day. Lots to see and do in the area or just hanging at this great home. Couldn't be nicer!
We had a wonderful week at Rose Cottage. The house was beautiful and large enough to accommodate our family. It was well equipped with all the essentials and many extras. When we had a small problem with the garage door opener, Kathy was able to have the problem fixed quickly. The house is close to many attractions. Chapaquoit beach is a hidden gem!
This was a marvelous home, particularly if you have younger children. We really enjoyed spending the nights and mornings relaxing and playing games. Could not have been a more peaceful stay and my kids were thrilled with the rabbitt that frequently showed up in the yard and didn't seem too concerned with people getting reasonably close. Quick drive to great beaches, restaurants, Falmouth, and Wood's Hole. Kathleen was quick to respond when emailed and very helpful when needed. Highly recommend this home.
We had a wonderful two weeks in this beautifully modern home with great layout and decor. There was plenty of room for all ten of us, (4 young children, who loved the special playroom off their bedroom). The patio and back yard were just right for relaxing after a day at the beach. No need to cart along linens as they were more than plentiful. The open layout of the kitchen dining area was great, and the living room was a nice retreat from the little ones. I would recommend this property highly. The owner is lovely.
My family- 5 adults and three children had a wonderful vacation at Rose Cottage. It is beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities anyone would want for their vacation. A beautiful retreat in the woods and only a few miles from Old Silver Beach- one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cape.
We would recommend this lovely home to all who are looking for a "home away from home". We definitely will vacation here again.
The minute you walk in the front door you feel warm and welcomed. The house is kept central air cooled and so very clean! Fabulous furniture and the dining room window seat was my favorite place to drink coffee and read!!! The decorating scheme was classy and so cape cod!!!!!!!
Everything you need for a wonderful family vacation is there, and then some! The outdoor patio with awning is the perfect after beach happy hour rejuvenating spot! We had our teenagers and young adults and the location was perfect. Old Silver & Chappy beach, Chappy Grille, West Falmouth market, and Eulinda's ice cream, and oh so close to the Chart Room.....loved our First Family Falmouth vacation!!!
