Overview

About the property

Two-Pots is a good sized comfortable room. Making a excellent base in Calpe

Two-Pots has its own pathway and entrance, through a fruit garden in the grounds of a friendly family run villa, complete with bbq, table, chairs - sun loungers and looking out on an abundance of palm trees.

It is situated in a very quiet residencial area.

Ian and Karen live in the villa, and welcome guests on arrival. They will show you around, and then leave you to enjoy your holiday. However should you need anything during your stay, they are here to help. (for example lifts to and from calpe, the beach or shops)

Calpe is a beautiful town, and is easily recognised by the 330 mtr rock that stands between the two beaches. The rock (ifach) can be walked up by the fit enthusiast, and offers a spectacular view of the town. We have a flea market on Wednesdays also a large traditional Spanish market every Saturday in Calpe.

The two beautiful blue flag sandy beaches have all the amenities that you expect from the best holiday resorts. There is a diving centre near to Calpe. There are day trips to Benidorn and Denia by boat from Calpe. There is a glass bottom boat and fishing trip boats at Calpe fishing port. Benidorm palace is one of the top shows in eu (35mins drive) for a lively fun night out. Calpe has many very good restaurants, bars and shops, and many fiestas.

Why Ian or Karen chose Altea Area

great value, and so nice. Room for a baby cot if required. So it can be 2+1

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a fantastic stay in Two Pots. Clean, cool, comfortable and welcoming is only the start. The owners Karen, Ian and Jazz are so helpful and accomodating. The studio accomodation is in a tranquil area less than a 10 minute drive from Calpe,an amazing watersports centre and the beach. We also found that it was a good base for visiting outlying beautiful historic towns like Orihuela, Guardlest, Xenia, Altea etc.

The thing we liked least about the property was that the seville oranges hanging outside our door were not ready for the picking so we had to make do with plums, lemons, limes and valencia oranges!!

We will be back.

Just what we needed.

Good things can come in small packages and "Two Pots" proved this adage. Quiet, clean and providing everything necessary for a relaxing holiday we enjoyed our stay immensely. The area is delightful and Ian and Caron were most helpful. Thank you both, Jon and Jenny

Two pots is great as are Ian, Karen and Jazz

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Two Pots over the Christmas period (for 2 weeks), my criteria for a stay was somewhere that is a bit remote but within driving distance of a neighboring town/city, somewhere which was suitable for me to do my work in (so it must have fast wifi!) and somewhere with good roads for some road cycling. Also I wanted the independence of having somewhere that was on its own (an apartment on its own) because I was staying for a longer period of time I didn't want the family in the other house to feel inconvenienced. Two pots met all my criteria - It is independent and even has its own separate entrance, 10 minutes to Calpe (supermarkets, coffee etc.) and within 10 minutes I can cycle to the middle of nowhere and even join some pro cycling teams on some challenging climbs! Plus it has a very fast wifi speed which meant I could crack on and do my work.

As for the accommodation itself, I think it has everything one needs (heating, good cooking utensils, good shower, comfy beds and a washing machine which proved very useful given I was staying for a longer duration). Everything was also very clean and neat, one thing I loved was the outdoor BBQ space found outside of two pots - which is perfect on a summers day in calpe. I have already recommended two pots to my cycling club and friends.

Ian, Karen and Jazz are fantastic - I stayed over the Christmas period to get some work done and go cycling and they were very welcoming but at the same time left me to do my own thing which was exactly what I needed. However I was pleasantly surprised and very happy that they even invited me for some food and drink on Christmas day - something I didn't expect and something that I really enjoyed - otherwise Christmas may have been a tad lonely.

Quality at budget price

  • 5 of 5

Somehow Two Pots has got that sort of special feel - perhaps being in a mini orchard has something to do with it. It's certainly got everything we needed in a domestic sense and the owners always seem to strike the right balance between being accessible when needed but at the same time giving us the peace and quite to enjoy our holiday.

Two Pots is located in Empedrola which is just outside Calpe and is a rather posh urbanisation with properties on large plots and wide roads. So during our visits it has always been quite and peaceful. Calpe itself has some top notch beaches, quality shops, restaurants etc. and enough supermarkets to cater for all budgets and tastes. There are also a wide range of other activities available within the local area.

But for us, the big bonus is that just outside the urbanisation (car not needed) there is a good selection of pleasant and properly signposted walks plus lots of little paths and tracks which aren't on any maps - some of these routes are pleasantly cool even in hot weather.

In fact when you visit this area for the first time you'll realise it's quite different from the rest of Costa Blanca. The geography is more varied, lots of little micro climates and many more trees - so it's greener than many areas further south – generally a very pleasant place to be.

So overall I don't think you can beat it for the price.
