Currently booking for 2017. For the 16 season I saw a drastic change in the trend of bookings! We had 7 or 8 weeks booked a year or so ahead of time and have seen an up tick in inquiries already for 17. Prior to that it had seemed most of our booking came around or after the new year. Thank you to all of our guests that have stayed and enjoyed there time in the Petoskey area and on the lake, I feel lucky to have had many guest that have taken great care of our place while having a great time .
We had a great time. Very relaxing. We had 6 adults and 3 children 4 and under. Plenty of room. The area is so beautiful and peaceful. Thankful that my nephew got married here otherwise we would never have seen this part of the country.
We had a fantastic two weeks on beautiful Walloon Lake. Paul and Tracy have an awesome property in a great location. Our large family, with many children of different ages, all had a fabulous time on the lake, at the house and in nearby cities. The house is very comfortable, clean and well-loved. The common spaces were large and plentiful, which made spending time together easy and enjoyable. The kitchen was great and the porch was amazing. We enjoyed the bonfire and the yard every day. Although there is a road out front, we found it a bonus not a negative. We enjoyed daily walks along it and met several neighbors. Traffic was light and careful and we enjoyed the community feeling of walkers, joggers and cyclists. Most importantly, we felt very lucky to have Paul's advice and help over the course of the two weeks. We can't wait to return!
The owner, Paul, made an excellent first impression by communicating promptly by email and phone. He has lived in the home, is very familiar with Lake Walloon, and answered all our questions, up to and during our stay. The house was very clean, attractive, and homey, with thoughtful touches that reflected attention to our comfort. When a shower head broke early on, Paul fixed it that day. One caveat: when showering in the second floor bathroom, we had to make sure no one flushed the toilet in the rest of the house, or the shower would turn painfully hot.
There was plenty of room for three couples, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a large second floor room that could accommodate visitors, if needed. Each bedroom is adjacent to a separate common area, making it possible for late-nighters or early risers to be up and about without disturbing others. We had all the equipment we needed for cooking and grilling. The large front porch with rockers allowed all of us to sit and relax or eat at the picnic table, and enjoy the view of the lake. We appreciated not having to climb steps to get to the lake, which was easily accessible. There is a road between the home and the lake, but for adults the traffic is negligible. We enjoyed taking long walks or biking on the road around the lake. On two nights, we took our pontoon boat across the lake to Walloon Village to eat dinner. Some of us enjoyed an afternoon biking and looking for Petoskey stones on Lake Charlevoix. I enjoyed kayaking almost every day on the lake, when it wasn't too windy. The fire pit was a delightful way to end the evening. Paul connected us to boat rentals, so that our pontoon boat and kayak were at the dock when we arrived. We had a wonderful time, and will be back next year. Thanks, Paul!
This house was perfect for our family of 15!! The bedrooms were comfortable and the family room area on the second floor was great for grandkids slumber parties and movie watching.
Paul was a wonderful "land lord" who gave us very helpful information on the area and things to see and do. He was easily accessable.
The thing I would fix is the sink drain and definitely add a garbage disposal.
It was a perfect week celebrating our youngest sons marriage at The Inn At Bay Harbor.
Thank you for sharing such a treasure!!!

In June of 2014 my family and I spent two glorious weeks at this lake house on Walloon. We had a wonderfully relaxing visit. The home, grounds, lake frontage, and amenities were all we could ask for. Our most used areas became the big front porch, deck seating, and fire pit.....great places for cards, board games, smores, and just lots of laughs and fellowship. We often commented on how well supplied the house was, much more so than our other rentals.
We quickly discovered how close we were to the fun places of Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Harbor Springs. It only took 8 min. to run to Walmart!
The owners were terrific to work with ....most accommodating, very friendly, and extremely helpful.
All 7 of us look forward to returning to this wonderful home on this spectacular lake.....I highly recommend this property.... it is truly a great place to rent...
I stayed here the week of July 12th - 19th with my family and four + two grandparents, so 6 people total.
The cottage is spacious and when we arrived it was clean. There was more than enough room for the six of us. The view of the lake from the kitchen, front sitting area and front porch is beautiful.
Both the downstairs and upstairs have quite a bit of room, although the upstairs master bath shower is somewhat small (minor inconvenience). We utilized the large upstairs "common area" quite a bit and it was nice to have the space on the one rainy day.
The owner, Paul really stood out. From the time we contacted him regarding booking the cottage he was extremely helpful and communicative. We had the microwave go on the fritz when we were there and he had a brand new one delivered within hours (after telling him it was not urgent and no rush).
Thanks Paul for a great week that my family truly enjoyed.
