North Arm of Walloon Lake, 100' of frontage, large front porch, sitting area out on dock. Close to Petoskey and casino. In between both Boynes ( highlands & the mountain). Just a few miles from Bay Harbor & Crooked Tree Golf courses. Lots of trails for walking or biking or nature lovers. A great location for just about anything! The house can sleep up to 13 but has lots of space for blow up mattresses. There is a bonfire pit overlooking the lake.

This house was perfect for our family of 15!! The bedrooms were comfortable and the family room area on the second floor was great for grandkids slumber parties and movie watching.
Paul was a wonderful "land lord" who gave us very helpful information on the area and things to see and do. He was easily accessable.
The thing I would fix is the sink drain and definitely add a garbage disposal.
It was a perfect week celebrating our youngest sons marriage at The Inn At Bay Harbor.
Thank you for sharing such a treasure!!!

In June of 2014 my family and I spent two glorious weeks at this lake house on Walloon. We had a wonderfully relaxing visit. The home, grounds, lake frontage, and amenities were all we could ask for. Our most used areas became the big front porch, deck seating, and fire pit.....great places for cards, board games, smores, and just lots of laughs and fellowship. We often commented on how well supplied the house was, much more so than our other rentals.
We quickly discovered how close we were to the fun places of Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Harbor Springs. It only took 8 min. to run to Walmart!
The owners were terrific to work with ....most accommodating, very friendly, and extremely helpful.
All 7 of us look forward to returning to this wonderful home on this spectacular lake.....I highly recommend this property.... it is truly a great place to rent...
I stayed here the week of July 12th - 19th with my family and four + two grandparents, so 6 people total.
The cottage is spacious and when we arrived it was clean. There was more than enough room for the six of us. The view of the lake from the kitchen, front sitting area and front porch is beautiful.
Both the downstairs and upstairs have quite a bit of room, although the upstairs master bath shower is somewhat small (minor inconvenience). We utilized the large upstairs "common area" quite a bit and it was nice to have the space on the one rainy day.
The owner, Paul really stood out. From the time we contacted him regarding booking the cottage he was extremely helpful and communicative. We had the microwave go on the fritz when we were there and he had a brand new one delivered within hours (after telling him it was not urgent and no rush).
Thanks Paul for a great week that my family truly enjoyed.
Stayed at this exceptional home the week of the 4th. Really nice place and location. We enjoyed time on the lake, music on the porch and movie night up stairs. House is exceptional!
Thanks again for a great week!!
We are from Ohio and stayed at this house (Weds thru Tues) for the weekend our daughter got married in Petoskey. The house was perfect in every way. It was clean, well cared for and the owners were very conscientious over making sure that everything was perfect for us; also let us know that we could contact them at any time should we have any issues or concerns (we didn't). They even put wedding bells on the calendar that sits on the kitchen wall. It was perfect. There is plenty of space to spread out as there are multiple gathering areas. The upstairs area was great for the bride and her bridesmaids to get dressed and ready and the photographer marveled at the unique characteristics of the house and area. I would highly recommend this house to others. The area is beautiful and easily accessible to town. We plan to come back to the area and, without any second thoughts, would rent this house again.
This house is in a beautiful setting with gorgeous lakefront views. Being across the "road" (more like a path where cars are allowed) was a non-factor. Serene lake views abound in the kitchen and on the wide, shady porch.
My kids and I live in Louisiana, but come to Michigan every year to visit family (I grew up in Mich.) Vacationing "up north" is among my most cherished childhood memories, and this lovely home and gorgeous lake did them justice.
The house has been added on to from its humble cottage beginnings and it accommodates large families. (We had 10-12 people). However, I found the layout a bit lacking. When you walk in, you're in the kitchen with its beautiful wide-plank pine floors. There are three bedrooms on the lower level, two bathrooms and a small living room (I guess) where my teenage son slept on the pull-out sofa. (His mess also made this room uninhabitable for the rest of us!) Upstairs, there is a large living area with several sofas, a TV and the master bedroom/bath.
I stayed on the lower level with my kids. However, there was really nowhere to relax and hang out. The kitchen had some stools and there were 2 comfy chairs just beyond, but it seemed like the upper level really had the living space. But that was occupied by my sister and her kids (futon, sofas, air mattress.) My parents had the master bed and bath, also on that level. (Side note to owners: my 76-yr-old mom got "locked" into the master bathroom on the first night and couldn't get out. The door stuck and she couldn't get it open from the inside.....she spent 45 minutes in there freaking out and no one could hear her because we were all enjoying the bonfire. She was pretty shaken.)
My other small gripe is the lighting and mirrors in the bathrooms. I shared one of the main floor bathrooms with my kids, and I could barely see my eyebrows in the bathroom mirror! (I'm 5'3") The lighting is also lacking, even if you were tall enough to see yourself. I had to drag my makeup to the kitchen area and apply it there. There were similar lighting issues in the other two bathrooms.
However, these were all small inconveniences and didn't have much bearing on our overall vacation experience (though my mom might beg to differ! lol) Walloon Lake is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, and this home and area captures its magic in so many ways.
