Why Patti Burk chose Montana

We came to Whitefish for numerous years before building this home. We would come on weekends and summer vacations. This is a well loved home!

What makes this house unique

Lots of deer to watch, and a couple of bald-headed eagles like to perch in the very tall tree out on the left side of the house. They like to swoop down in front of the deck to fish in the lake!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I had a feeling that it was going to be perfect for our family when I spoke with the owner on the phone. She wanted to make sure hat everything was what we asked for and it was. All eight of us flew into Glacier National Airport, hit the grocery store and headed to,the house. Whitefish Lake was gorgeous from every angle as we rounded the lake,to the end of the road where the cabin was. It is on the quiet side of the lake, about a ten minute boat ride to the lodge. We walked into he house and stared through the floor to ceiling windows at an incredible view of e trees and water.the house was beautiful and perfect for our family of six adults and two children. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook and the beds and bedding was wonderful and every bedroom had a view of the lake. I have even emailed Patti to ask her where they bought their bed in the master bedroom because my husband slept so well. The house was immaculate and there was lefty of room for our family inside and out. The dock was great for a boat and is on a quiet bay that was safe for water sports for the kids. We did a lot during the week, we went to Glacier Park,Flathead Lake, rode the lift to the top of the ski lift, hung out in town for lunch and cocktails a couple of days, boated to the lodge for lunch, dinner and cocktails at different times during the week. But our favorite days were when we spent Te afternoons on the boat ,barbecuing on the deck and talking till the sun set. It was relaxing week for all of us. We would love to come back!

Amazing lake front property in Whitefish Montana

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent a week in this home (Sept. 2016) and one word describes it, "Amazing". We are habitual HomeAway/VRBO users around the world, and this is hands down the best place we've stayed yet. It literally has everything you would need. The only thing you need to bring are your clothes and any food you want to eat.

In my opinion, the pictures don't do this house justice. The setting is simply spectacular, with multi-level decks overlooking the crystal clear and calm Whitefish Lake, including a dock for your boat. It was so relaxing to either sit on deck and watch the sunset or hang out on the dock while the kids practiced their rock skipping. It's on the "quiet" end of the lake and therefore requires about a 20 min drive into whitefish, but this is a feature that we really enjoyed as we were looking for a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle. The beds are super comfy, each person is provide a cozy robe, and there is a game room in the basement with a pool table along with a wall of books for your reading pleasure. The open layout of the main level is great for connecting all of the rooms to the views out the picture windows in the main room. There are tons of activities nearby to include Big Mountain Ski Resort, Glacier National Park and the town of Whitefish.

You will absolutely not go wrong by choosing to stay in this house for your western Montana vacation.

Thanks again

Property and setting was sensational.

The home is beautiful, as well as the location. It's quiet, secluded and peaceful. Beds were all very comfortable, Kitchen is very nicw, we loved the pool table, grilled out most evenings and loved the view from the beautiful deck. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to "get away" and enjoy North West Montana and Glacier National Park.

Where do you live?

wonderful quiet well decorated home...

  • 5 of 5

Such a romantic lake cottage. We are a couple in our early 70's who rent "bucket list" homes around five times per year, mostly in the United States. You can always tell, regardless of the cost, whether a home is primarily for rental or primarily for ownership. Clearly Patty and Tom actually live here. Look closely at the pictures. They are a true representation on the quiet beauty of this home. The temptation to just sit "forever" on that splendid deck may make you stay home more than you expected! And so be it !!! You will never regret choosing this home. Gary and Diana from Kansas

Beautiful lake, beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We (husband, myself and two daughters in their twenties) recently stayed for a week in this home and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The view of the lake was incredible from all bedrooms and from both the upper level great room and lower level family room/den. We alternated days of floating on the lake (highly suggest bringing a few of your own inflatables) and partaking in activities in the Glacier National Park area (red bus tour, hiking, white water rafting). The park is about an hour away so you may want to combine some activities into one day to save on driving time. Whitefish Lake is crystal clear and refreshingly cold. The house itself is great - very comfortable beds and a kitchen that is better equipped than mine is at home. We passed many happy hours sitting on the deck overlooking the lake and just enjoying eachothers' company. Patti and her husband were very easy to work with and have thought of everything in providing comfort for their guests. One night there was a wind storm which knocked out power (and downed a couple of large trees which luckily missed the house!) However, in spite of this - or maybe because of it - we had a fun evening playing pool and board games. We highly recommend staying here!!

An Amazing Experience

  • 5 of 5

The journey to the Burk's house began with a scenic drive along the western shores of Whitefish Lake. The views of the lake provide the proper introduction for what lies ahead. We found the house to be exactly as described by the advertising. The home is very well apportioned with comfort, convenience and spectacular views of Whitefish Lake. Patti provided an information manual for the house that explained every possible situation one would encounter in a strange place. If there was a question on any specific function, it was explained in the manual. Nice touch. There is an easy walk down a few stairs from the lower deck to the shoreline of Whitefish Lake which provides an excellent view of the western shore. There is a sizeable library and pool table in the rec room for a rainy day. This house is an amazing place for a relaxing vacation for any size family. We had dinner at the Whitefish Lake Golf Club restaurant. This is not a typical golf course snack shop. The food and setting was excellent.. We enjoyed touring the surrounding area and would consider a return to Montana in the following year. The Burk’s house would definitely be our preferred place to spend the time. Thank you Patti for your hospitality.

Star gazing, sunsets and mountain views at top of list at this lakefront home

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed a fabulous family vacation at the Burk's home while attending our son's country wedding in Whitefish. Home included all our needs; lakefront property with swimming, clean and well kept to avoid allergens, lake views in every room, 3 bedrooms and rec room with pool table for fun evenings! If you or your loved ones have allergies-this is a rental home for you...clean, well stocked house supplies and very cared for. We rented paddle boards to enjoy the water at local shop which even delivered-nice! MacKenzie River Pizza a favorite restaurant for gluten free pizza!

Nature, star gazing and sunsets at it's best at this lakefront home with shorefront and dock access. Highly recommend. Thank you, Jolene
