|Space||1,500 sq. ft.|
|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Experience a few of central Oregon’s 320 annual days of sunshine at the Bend Urban Cabin, a 3-bed, 2-bath vacation rental just 5 minutes from Old Town Bend and the Old Mill District.
Where does our "urban cabin" get its name? In part from the knotty pine interiors, wood stove, and cozy pine furnishings inside our 1,500 square foot space. Plus a pine-shaded outdoor area where deer sightings are common. Take in the view from the 6-person hot tub on the back deck!
The "urban" part comes from our proximity to Bend, in an established residential neighborhood: you can walk to several brewpubs and restaurants, supermarkets and even two Starbucks. Or take a 5-minute drive to Bend for shopping, art galleries, artisan cocktails and more.
Make the "Urban Cabin" your home base for all the indoor and outdoor adventures that surround us here. Our cabin features:
• Two outdoor decks in the Ponderosa Pines
• Private hot tub
• Charcoal barbecue
• Covered parking
• Kid-friendly media room with a collection of movies, games and toys
• Outdoor dining area for alfresco meals
• Flat-screen TV with Netflix
• Free Wifi
Inside the cabin, you’ll experience kick-off-your-boots charm, with inviting seating around the warm fireplace. Great for small families, three couples, and other groups of up to 6, our family has been making memories here since 1982, and hope your family will add your own!
Adventurous guests love white water rafting on the Deschutes River and snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor, while those looking for a little more laid-back activity can golf or sail. All of these activities are within a 30-minute drive from the Urban Cabin.
MASTER BEDROOM (Upper Level):Queen-size bed with TV and access to a private bath with shower.
BEDROOM #2 (lower Level): Queen-size bed, office area, a full bath.
BEDROOM #3 (Main Level): Bunk room with twin-over-full pine bunk beds and direct access to the downstairs bathroom.
High, beamed ceilings frame the open living room, where your group can gather around the wood-burning stove and large flat screen TV. A leather couch and 2 armchairs are the perfect spot to lounge after a day exploring.
In the media room (a hit with kids), find a leather couch, TV, DVD, stereo and additional table for cards. A whole bookcase full of games awaits for the little ones (and older ones) to enjoy.
Wander outside to either of the 2 decks surrounded by 150 foot tall Ponderosa Pines and relax in the hot tub for truly special nights under a star-studded Oregon sky.
KITCHEN & DINING
Dine in comfort around the table for 6. Just beside the dining area is the 2-step kitchen, compact and convenient, with all the essentials for making a home-cooked meal. A gas range and modern appliances make dinner prep simple. Make a movie night snack with the popcorn maker, or delicious breakfast with the waffle iron. Spices and most condiments are provided.
Outdoor seating and a charcoal grill set the scene for a backyard BBQ, and the margarita maker in the kitchen creates a refreshing vacation treat!
We built the home in 1988 and it has been a vacation home since then. We upgraded in 2003. We currently live in Southwest Washington.and this is our permanent second home and we spend about 10 days a month here. There have been 23 years of vacations and family experiences in the home. We now want to share our home and all the benefits of having a vacation/holiday in Bend with others.
Dennis Harvey purchased this house in 1988
We started skiing in in Bend in 1979 and always thought it would be a nice place for a second home. We watched it boom in the 80s and purchased the lot in 1982. We are an outdoor family, ski, hunt, fish and camp. There is no other place on the West Coast that has year around recreation. There is something for everyone all the time.
Since we finished the house, wildlife is abundant all the time. Deer almost daily, squirrels, rabbits, quail, dove, geese and ducks and geese flying by on a regular basis. It is like being in the woods, but in the City Limits. That is why we have always called our BEND URBAN CABIN.
We enoyed our time at this urban cabin that was very close in to what we love to do in Bend and an easy drive to Mt Bachelor. My two kids loved it for the toys, movies, bunk beds and cozy fireplace. So when the kids are happy, the parents are happy. We traveled with grandma, so plenty of room for 2 kids and 3 adults. Having a hot tub at the end of the day at the mountain in the snow was the best part. A few minor details could be improved on, such as the main bathroom downstair has a knob that comes off when turning on the shower, the shower came on most of the way, but the knob would come off and I was afraid it would get lost and would be an easy fix to get welded back on. Having a bath mat to be used by the tub/shower downstairs would be great too. There was a small one in front of the sink, but with the showers and kids and baths, we were using our bath towel to help keep the floor dry, which wasn't ideal since we each needed a towel. Also we are coffee lovers and happy to see a coffee grinder. Just a request to have filters to fit the 8-10 cup coffee maker you have vs. the 4-cup coffee filters that were available. We had to be strategic to prevent coffee grind overflow when making out 8-10 cups of coffee in the morning. Also would of loved to of had a few tupperware containers to put some left overs from dinner. Also, sounds as if the heater in the bathroom needs a tune-up to prevent it from running and humming all night, but could be heard all night from the bathroom, despite we had it as low as it could go to try to turn off. All minor details and none of these would prevent us from returning or rating the house lower then a 5 star. We had a great weekend and always love to get over to Bend from Portland when we can.
Had an awesome time. Location is awesome. Check out procedure is simple and easy. All around great expierence
Spent the week in Bend mountain biking and drinking beer. This place was a great homebase.
OK, five guys golf trip with more expectations required from the golf courses and our game than from the accommodations. The place was everything it said it was....except the vicinity to town amenities. Apparently, 5 blocks is too long to walk after a day on the course. Couple o guys brought their bikes, they said, the proximity was perfect for the two wheeler. The private backyard deck was made just for us to have a cold one and discuss the shots of the day. BBQ was put to good use. Hotub was used a couple o times. Kitchen well equipped. The line of cabinets over the stove are not necessary and makes the kitchen feel small and makes one feel trapped. Nice that the bedrooms are located in 3 different sections of the house. Jack/jill bathroom downstairs. Nice master suite upstairs. Quiet neighborhood. Everyone, i mean everyone in Bend is nice. Must be the beer?
We planned a wonderful birthday weekend that turned into a beautiful engagement weekend! This place was the perfect size for my fiance and our 4 best friends! It was in a great location within a short drive of everywhere we wanted to visit. We had a rad time floating the river, chill time bbqing in the beautiful back yard, and a very relaxing night of star gazing from the hot tub! The backyard was my favorite part besides the outdoor picnic table where we spent majority of our time. We booked this room knowing it was AC-less on one of the hottest weekends of the year but we still couldn't get over how uncomfortable it was. An AC unit, better upkeep of the hot tub (intense chemical odor), as well as adequately stocking the toilet paper would have provoked us to score 5/5. Everything else was great, thanks for a fun weekend in beautiful Bend, Oregon! <3
Lovely quaint urban cabin!! Great central location and within walking distance to restaurants and downtown. Enjoyed watching people float the river. Easy to get to the many adventures Bend has to offer! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Bend has something for everyone who appreciates outdoor activities. SKI SEASON IS HERE. MT BACHELOR SNOW REPORT http://www.mtbachelor.com/site/plan/info/winterconditions. It is the only area on the West Coast that offers all of the above opportunities in a 25 mile radius of the Bend Urban Cabin.
