A wonderful 18th Century Casa Colonica Farmhouse awaits you, fully renovated with the modern comforts of home. Set on eight glorious hilltop acres with an olive grove and fruit trees, the house is two kilometers from Anghiari, which was voted one of the 10 most beautiful hilltop towns in Italy. The house was recently fully restored using original materials, including ancient terracotta floors and reclaimed, hand-hewn chestnut beams, as well as custom-made authentic touches, including exquisite custom woodworking and hand made windows and cabinetry.
The 2500 square foot home is comprised of four bedrooms, each with an en suite bath, an additional full bath plus powder room, dedicated kitchen, enormous dining room, spacious library, and expansive living room adjacent to three of the four suites.
The fully equipped, eat-in, kitchen (seats six) features everything a chef could want. All appliances are brand new, including: gas range, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. An adjacent full dining room (seats eight to ten) features a classic Tuscan fireplace and extraordinary valley views.
The library is well-appointed with antiques, leather furniture, fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and wrought iron staircase. The acoustics in this room are especially wonderful for listening to music while enjoying the fireplace.
The master suite has three windows with sweeping valley views and excellent cross-ventilation. The spacious master includes a sitting area, plus large dual sink bathroom with classic claw tub.
The additional three bedrooms, located on the lower level, each have private entrances to the outside and also boast wonderful views. Two of the suites adjoin with a large wooden door, great for children who want to hang out together.
The living room (which is surrounded by the three lower level suites) features a third fireplace and has large arched entrances and panoramic valley views. It is equipped with an LED TV and Sky TV service. For your enjoyment, the house has wi-fi internet service throughout.
Outdoor areas include a pool nestled in the hillside, dining loggia (seats six) and lounge area overlooking the valley (seats six). The property also includes an original stone pizza oven that can be used to prepare delicious meals for al fresco dining. If you want to leave pizza up to the professionals, there is a charcoal grill available for to whip up a meal prepared from locally-sourced meats and produce sold every Wednesday at the local town square market.
Many wonderful destinations, including Florence, Siena, Cortona, Assisi, Arezzo and Rimini, are within easy driving distance and serve as great day trips. For the more adventurous, Rome and Pisa are each just a 2.5 hour drive from the house. There also are many charming small towns to explore, as well as restaurants and excellent shopping locally. If you are a shopper, designer outlets are just a short drive away.
We look forward to introducing you to Toscana!

A family shares their home with you...
The long views. The pretty gardens. The woods. The luxurious pool. The exquisite stone exterior. The serenity. The shuttered windows. The pizza oven. All you could dream of in a Tuscan farmhouse vacation. But, the house is really much more than that. It is a domus, a true home obviously lived in by a loving family. A large wooden dining table with lots of chairs in front of an enormous fireplace. A library with leather sofas and chairs, a writing desk and another fireplace. The kitchen has a marble tabletop, perfect for rolling out pasta and pastry. Cookware, knives, plates, cups, glasses, a citrus reamer, a grater, measuring cups, a rolling pin any and everything a cook would want. A six-burner stovetop and large oven allow you to feed your family and soul.
The downstairs is filled with comfortable chairs and a couch covered in soft, inviting pillows surrounding a third fireplace. From the comfort of these seats, you look out onto a patio, through the fig trees, straight into the valley. And also in all this splendor, our friend Kim, watched a mother bird hatch her four eggs in the niche in her bedroom. Miracle of miracles. That is this house.
Tuscan tranquility in style
We booked the villa for two weeks in August. It was hard to leave. The house is located in a very scenic countryside area, on top of the hill, which even in August always has a comfortable breeze. In fact, we did not even consider once to turn on the brand new air conditioning. We loved the pool with its stunning views. The bbq was used frequently, as well as the outdoor tables. The house is exceptionally well renovated and decorated. Done in real taste and with comfort in mind. And don't bother to bring books - there's tons here. I finally got to read Under the Tuscan Sun. The closest village, Anghiari, is straight from a fairytale. What I also loved about it is that it's not overrun by tourists. The restaurants are wonderful, as are the local food shops. True Tuscan experience.
During our stay the cleaning service stopped by, as well as the pool service. The property is very well maintained. Wifi connection is wonderful (unfortunately the 2 weeks required some working).
Our favorite non-local outing and highly recommended was to Assisi. Otherwise all the villages in the area are stunning. And most of the time we didn't really feel like leaving the property, as it was so relaxing. Thank you Edward and Cheryl for giving us an opportunity to stay in your lovely villa. We will remember this vacation forever.
Step Back in Time
The Anghiari countryside was just breathtaking with views reminiscent of an Italian painting. The rolling hills, the mist , the walled village and the beautiful trees with brightly colored leaves all blended to give a picture of striking beauty. The home was lovely and served our group of four lovely ladies well. While we had planned to take day trips to various to towns, we found the home so relaxing after travels in Venice and Florence that we mostly explored locally. We enjoyed a day at the Ravagni Olive Oil site with Francesco just on the outskirts of Anghiari where his family has been pressing olives since 1421. We explored Anghiari itself and found a little church where the first mention of it was in a will dated in 1105. Be sure to try the wild boar ragu on tagliatelle at one of the local restaurants in the old city. Truffles? We spent a day on a truffle hunt in Umbria. Pigs were outlawed in 1985 so the leaders now use specially trained truffle dogs. We followed these dogs as they sniffed and discovered the hidden treats and their master dug with a special truffle tool to discover the hidden delights.
We cooked our dinners in the beautiful gourmet kitchen at the farmhouse - except for the night we used the outdoor oven to make our individual pizzas. Topped with local mushrooms and other delicacies we purchased at the farmers market, these were mouthwatering.
Marcello was extremely helpful and replied to my text messages promptly whenever I had questions. It was convenient to have the washer, dryer and dishwasher available and we used them often.
I would highly recommend a visit to this outstanding villa in Anghiari .
Lovely Beautifully appointed Palazzo in Tuscany
We stayed in this gorgeous home four times and hope to return sometime soon.
The feeling is authentic Tuscan palazzo but with all the modern amenities. It is
exquisitely decorated , spacious , the kitchen is a dream and the pool is fabulous. After a day of touring , this is the perfect place to be- a glass of wine, a swim , maybe a fire in the hearth? What more could you ask for? we already have our next trip planned.
Fabulous setting in beautifully restored home. Great kitchen and dining area, comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms. Drive by farms and vineyards to arrive at quiet, peaceful refuge after exploring the area! New, large inground pool just steps from home!
Seven close friends enjoyed this gorgeous home for one week. All went smoothly from the second we arrived, until the morning we left. Quiet town nearby and wasn't hard to get to the main grocery store.
If you are looking for a nicely furnished vacation home, with a lot of charm, great views and just peace and quiet, this is the place. We can't say enough good things about our experience.
