This cabin is constructed and furnished with comfy cast-offs from the city home, collected and installed over the decades. Not luxury but warm and sufficient for our group of seven adults. Owners were responsive and helpful.
Our stay was great the kitchen was fully stocked with items to use, the fridge and stove worked great. It’s a great location about 15 minutes to Jordanelle for Ice Fishing and minutes away for Snowmobiling.
There was plenty of space for all of us to have a great time we went with friends and family they had great movies. There is no internet and terrible cell service so we were forced to unplug for the weekend which was actually really nice. We than did what we went for and spent time away with one another and had a great time!
The owners were prompt with their responses to any questions I had and to the approval process. Yes there were dead bugs in the windows seal as someone had previously stated, but if you can look past that and enjoy yourself it’s well worth it. We would stay again.
This cabin is definitely "grandpa's cabin" but was a wonderful place for our family get-together. There are plenty of beds and lots of bedding, a fully equipped kitchen and two areas for watching DVDs or VHS videos. There is a pool table that we loved also. We had a little trouble getting the cabin temperature stable--but it was 8 degrees outside so that was understandable. We had some rooms that were overly hot and some that were freezing cold the first night, but we figured it out for the second night. There is only one bathroom, but the bathroom sink is outside the toilet and shower area and we didn't find this to be an inconvenience at all. The cabin has great access to it, and is only about 3 minutes from great snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails. The area around the cabin is breathtakingly beautiful. The snow was on the trees and piled deep around the cabin, but we could drive right to the cabin and walk right in the front door. It was a fun place to be together, play games and be away from the world. We went to a Mexican restaurant in Heber the first night and to an Italian cafe in Midway the second night and both were delicious. The owner was easy to work with and communicated well.
Our whole family had a wonderful time at the cabin it snowed almost the whole weekend we were there we build snowman took lots of pictures and enjoyed each other's company, we are not a family that is hard to please very easy-going and we have fun no matter what we do so as far as the cabin it was fun and would love to come again
We LOVED staying here. It's so different from Zermatt and The Homestead and other fancy places in Midway and Park City.
It brought tears to my eyes as I was reminded of my Midway cabin growing up. Lots of little nooks and crannies, including a hidden attic for tiny grandkids to play, a "school" classroom to play, a ping pong table room, and beds spread everywhere. We ate breakfast on the large patio. We built a fire out back and enjoyed s'mores and an incredible view of the stars. We played basketball, threw a football, turned on the 50's music on a record player in the little playhouse. We cooked meals there, and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and pans. Fridge, stove, oven, shower, toilet all work well. It was so quiet that I could hardly fall asleep. We did not turn on a TV, video, or search for WiFi, or look at Facebook, NOT ONCE in 48 hours, which has got to be a record for my kids. Instead they learned how to play chess, played board games until midnight, enjoyed the fire, and read books. Wow!
If you're looking for a clean fancy condo with plush comfortable beds, WiFi, and a pool... this is not your place.
But if your family wants a nostalgic experience in an old cabin in the woods, this place is ideal. We plan to go back next year for sure.
Cons: old beds and bedding; indoor woodburning stoves say "don't use," so we built a fire out back; dead flies in the shower and windows; clean up is unclear--- there's a sign on the door (presumably for family, not paying guests) asking people to put the laundry in the washer and replace sheets on the beds. We wanted to hike or bike nearby, but struggled to find a trail, and drove down to the valley instead.
This place was exactly what my family and friends had been looking for, a nice cabin with lots of room for everybody. Very quite area and the views are spectacular. We will stay again for sure.
In Midway's beautiful Snake Creek Canyon near Wasatch State Park and Golf Course, Park City, Soldier Hollow, Heber as well as Jordanelle and Deer Creek Reservoir. Secluded quiet yet convenient accessible location. You won't be disappointed.
