Overview

Saint Lawrence Gap House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

You will love your stay at Seagrass! Beaches, turtles, monkeys, birds. Peace and quiet. This is our home away from home and we are proud to offer it to our guests when we can't be there. We offer a very spacious newly constructed three bedroom, three bathroom townhouse with study located in Dover. It's a 5 minute walk to the long curve of white sand on Dover Beach (0.3 mile or 400m.) And the popular St. Lawrence Gap, the restaurant and entertainment hub of the island, is just one more block from there.

Newly furnished in a tropical style with bright colours, our home has a great ambience. In the ground floor living room, you will find a 41 inch Sony TV, cable and DVD, plus free Wireless internet. Adjacent to the living room is the study with futon and full bathroom. The large kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, under cabinet LED lighting, and a convenient washer and dryer for your use. Your indoor dining area is just off the kitchen near to the patio. Or, step outside onto the covered shady patio for morning coffee and enjoy a six seater teak dining table. Just ideal for taking your meals alfresco!

Upstairs you will find your master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, dressing table, and a full length mirror. Off the master, you can slip out onto a private patio to enjoy the ocean breeze and hear the surf on Maxwell Beach.

A second master-sized bedroom boasts more large closets, full length mirror, and dressing table. The third bedroom is bright and cheerful with large closet and dresser. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with large walk-in shower stall. All bedrooms are air conditioned, have ceiling fans and ample closet space.

The house is very secure with security bars on all windows and iron gates for both the front and back doors allowing you to let breezes through when you're home and still have total peace of mind. An in-wall safe is provided for storing your valuables.

Everything you need is convenient to you within a short walk from Seagrass. We are on Third Avenue in Dover with a lovely quiet beach, a grocery market, and a taxi stand right at the end of our street. Two blocks in the other direction and you will be at the bus stop on the main road.

At the end of the street there is a small secluded beach called Rainbow Beach to watch the sunsets or surf. This is a turtle nesting beach where, in the fall, you can watch hatchlings run toward the sea! Turn left and you come to Maxwell Beach for body surfing and long walks. Turn right and within one block you find lovely Dover Beach, offering beach chair and umbrella rentals, watersports and kiosks selling local food and drink. All these beach choices within 5 minutes walk!

Shop for souvenirs and clothing in The Gap - just 4 blocks away. At night The Gap comes alive, offering live local entertainment from Jazz to Reggae and more, a myriad of restaurants both casual and fine dining. Tennis is available at 2 resorts in the neighbourhood. Golf within 3 miles. Public transport is readily available as well as taxis.

Our local property manager will be available to you 24/7 during your stay. She and her staff meet you at the house on your arrival and show you through everything. If you have any repairs or needs while staying with us, she is just a phone call away. She handles our rental arrangements so you will have a secure way to send your payments. (That's why you don't see any actual bookings here on our listing. They are completed by our professional property manager.)

Guestbook comments from the manager

Life is a beach in Barbados!

This house is in the perfect location to walk around the Gap and enjoy the beaches. We enjoyed karaoke at Hal's Car Park as a local spot to be at night. Zed's at Surfers Point is perfect for beginner surf lessons and very chill for Wednesday night dinner. If you go to the Animal Cave, stop by one of the west coast beaches like Sandy Lane.

Oistins Friday night Fish Fry is a must! Also highly recommend a catamaran sailing cruise. We sailed Calabaza and the crew was fantastic and food and drink was all included. Thanks for the stay!

This property is absolutely amazing

I really enjoyed staying at Seagrass. The property was clean, comfortable, and close to the gap. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a great experience with renting a house in Barbados for the first time.

Owner's Response: We will be thrilled to have you come back! It is so nice to have a comfortable home to stay in instead of just one room in a hotel. We are glad that you agree and found it appealing to have the full run of the house. Come on back soon!

Seagrass is a perfect home from home.

  • 5 of 5

The location is brilliant; just a short walk to the beautiful Dover Beach, and close enough to the bars and clubs in St Lawrence Gap to be convenient, but far enough to be away from the noise and bustle.

The house has everything you could possibly need, and is extremely comfortable. For 6 adults, it was a real plus to have 3 bathrooms.

The convenience store on the corner of the road is useful, along with the atm just around the corner. We also made use of the car hire firm and trip booking office which are within a couple of minutes walk.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others, and would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.

Great location! Good food! Super beaches!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Michelle and Peter for sharing your southern home with us.

It was spotless and so perfectly located to wander through The Gap or explore other parts of the island. Some great restaurants (Tapas, Primo and Beach One) a bit pricey but all very good. Of course lots of others in the area to choose from that are more modestly priced and also really good.

Beaches were lovely ( Dover, Accra and Paynes Bay Beach) and the water as nice as we remember from 40 years ago, the time of our last visit to this special island.

Thanks again for a lovely week

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments! You did find some of the finer restaurants on the island so it's not surprising that you paid a premium! And Paynes Bay - you did get out and about! Hopefully you took lots of time to relax and chill on our beautiful Dover beach. Don't wait another 40 years - come back soon!

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing week in Barbados. Thanks Michelle for your well maintained and clean home.

The house was great for our needs. We were 2 families traveling with 3 kids. It had everything we needed. The bedrooms cooled down quickly every night with air conditioning and the downstairs had a beautiful breeze flowing through. We left the doors open with the gates locked during the evenings when we were home and we didn't have any problems with mosquitoes. We ate in on a few nights and had a great meal with the family on the back terrace. It was a relaxing, quiet and private place to unwind.

A bonus for us with this property is that we rented surf boards for a few days and we were able to easily carry them back to the house and store them in the garage every night after a day at Dover Beach. I'm sure storage would have been more of a challenge if we were in a small condo.

The location is great and we found we could reach many destinations by foot. Some mornings we walked to the grocery store (25 minute walk). Other days we hopped on the bus and traveled to other beaches such as Brown's beach which was a great day of snorkeling and swimming with sea turtles.

Dreaming of our next vacation in Barbados!

Owner's Response: That's what we like to hear! Guests that get right in there and enjoy all the island has to offer including surfing, snorkelling and walking all over the place! We are thrilled that your family Christmas in Barbados went so well. Come back soon!

Perfect house for families

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Seagrass!! WE were 2 families - 5 adults and 3 children, ages seven months, 9 and 11 years. The house was perfect for all of us, especially the baby! Nice and quiet, and the neighbours all kept to themselves.

We travelled around by the ZR van-bus. For $2 Bajan, you can go anywhere. We went to all the different beaches, restaurants, Oistins, etc. Hop on at any bus stop. Very frequent...every 5 minutes or so.

Every FRiday, you must check out Oistins fish fry festival! Music, food, entertainment.

We were closest to Dover, then there's Accra and Miami. Accra was the best with a great boardwalk, restaurants such as Chefette, KFC, Tapas, Just Grillin and coffee place next to it to get your coffee/latte fix!! Don't forget to catch the sunset on the boardwalk, you shouldn't miss it! Miami has stronger waves, but great for shade if that's what you prefer. The other 2 beaches, don't have much shade...so you would have to rent chairs and umbrellas for a small charge.

All beaches are public so you can go to any hotel as well and use the beach. You can also get a day pass to any hotel to use their pools and other facilities. We went to the Hilton in Bridgetown one day for US$55 each person. Lunch was included along with one non-alcoholic beverage along with access to the pools and changeroom. It was a beautiful hotel! Again, not to miss the sunset here if you are already there.

Try to get a tour of the island if you can. We took a taxi around and saw Bridgetown, Cherry Tree Hill (highest point of Barbados), Bathsheba, Bottom Bay, and final resting spot at the Crane hotel!

We experienced the local life, unlike if you were to stay on a resort and be stuck to just that. The house was perfect! The bedrooms were air conditioned. The downstairs has no AC, but there is always enough breeze to flow through the house if the windows and doors remain open. There are screens on the windows, but none on the doors. There is only a gated door but not enough to keep the mosquitoes out! WE were told that they are working on getting a screen for the doors. But, in the mean time, make sure to bring your own deet bug spray!!

The kitchen has all the basic appliances. One tip, bring your own snacks from back home. If you have to, pack a separate carry on with snacks! Bring your own favourite coffee or tea.If you plan on making your own meals, bring some of your favourite spices. Also, bring your own Tide pods for your laundry.

Def would stay here again!

Owner's Response: Great tips for other travellers! Coffee can certainly be a bit expensive in Barbados so it's a good idea to bring some as you say. We are so happy that all of you enjoyed the island and the house. We agree that it is a wonderful experience to stay in a neighbourhood and get a feel for the happy culture of Barbados! I wish we could do something about the Mosquitos but that's all part of nature and with the thunderstorms you had in September - well - sorry it does bring some mossies. So glad you had a good time nevertheless and we look forward to welcoming you back! Cheers Michelle

AMAZING!!! Perfect for Families

  • 5 of 5

hi Michelle, I wanted to take the time to tell you what an awesome!!!! vacation we had at your property. Your staff was amazingly friendly, and made me feel so at home that I have recommended your place to many friends! Including local family members! The place was impeccably clean, and quite. Everything was within walking distance, the dover market was reasonably priced. All the the neighbors were very friendly, but gave us our own privacy. We walked the whole of St. Lawerence Gap with easy it was so close, but far enough away from the nightlife that it didn't disturb our sleep. I would only stay at your property in my future visits of Barbados . Well done!

Owner's Response: It is so great to hear how much you enjoyed the house and the neighbourhood. As you say, you really can enjoy the nearby fun and nightlife without having the noise and crowds follow you home! We know you come to Barbados frequently so please do come back and stay again! Thank you for your recommendation to your friends and family. It is rewarding to know that everyone who supports our guests at Seagrass is contributing to a positive experience. I will be sure to pass along your feedback to them. See you again soon!
