Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

You will love your stay at Seagrass! Beaches, turtles, monkeys, birds. Peace and quiet. This is our home away from home and we are proud to offer it to our guests when we can't be there. We offer a very spacious newly constructed three bedroom, three bathroom townhouse with study located in Dover. It's a 5 minute walk to the long curve of white sand on Dover Beach (0.3 mile or 400m.) And the popular St. Lawrence Gap, the restaurant and entertainment hub of the island, is just one more block from there.

Newly furnished in a tropical style with bright colours, our home has a great ambience. In the ground floor living room, you will find a 41 inch Sony TV, cable and DVD, plus free Wireless internet. Adjacent to the living room is the study with futon and full bathroom. The large kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, under cabinet LED lighting, and a convenient washer and dryer for your use. Your indoor dining area is just off the kitchen near to the patio. Or, step outside onto the covered shady patio for morning coffee and enjoy a six seater teak dining table. Just ideal for taking your meals alfresco!

Upstairs you will find your master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, dressing table, and a full length mirror. Off the master, you can slip out onto a private patio to enjoy the ocean breeze and hear the surf on Maxwell Beach.

A second master-sized bedroom boasts more large closets, full length mirror, and dressing table. The third bedroom is bright and cheerful with large closet and dresser. These two bedrooms share a bathroom with large walk-in shower stall. All bedrooms are air conditioned, have ceiling fans and ample closet space.

The house is very secure with security bars on all windows and iron gates for both the front and back doors allowing you to let breezes through when you're home and still have total peace of mind. An in-wall safe is provided for storing your valuables.

Everything you need is convenient to you within a short walk from Seagrass. We are on Third Avenue in Dover with a lovely quiet beach, a grocery market, and a taxi stand right at the end of our street. Two blocks in the other direction and you will be at the bus stop on the main road.

At the end of the street there is a small secluded beach called Rainbow Beach to watch the sunsets or surf. This is a turtle nesting beach where, in the fall, you can watch hatchlings run toward the sea! Turn left and you come to Maxwell Beach for body surfing and long walks. Turn right and within one block you find lovely Dover Beach, offering beach chair and umbrella rentals, watersports and kiosks selling local food and drink. All these beach choices within 5 minutes walk!

Shop for souvenirs and clothing in The Gap - just 4 blocks away. At night The Gap comes alive, offering live local entertainment from Jazz to Reggae and more, a myriad of restaurants both casual and fine dining. Tennis is available at 2 resorts in the neighbourhood. Golf within 3 miles. Public transport is readily available as well as taxis.

Our local property manager will be available to you 24/7 during your stay. She and her staff meet you at the house on your arrival and show you through everything. If you have any repairs or needs while staying with us, she is just a phone call away. She handles our rental arrangements so you will have a secure way to send your payments. (That's why you don't see any actual bookings here on our listing. They are completed by our professional property manager.)

Guestbook comments from the manager

Life is a beach in Barbados!

This house is in the perfect location to walk around the Gap and enjoy the beaches. We enjoyed karaoke at Hal's Car Park as a local spot to be at night. Zed's at Surfers Point is perfect for beginner surf lessons and very chill for Wednesday night dinner. If you go to the Animal Cave, stop by one of the west coast beaches like Sandy Lane.

Oistins Friday night Fish Fry is a must! Also highly recommend a catamaran sailing cruise. We sailed Calabaza and the crew was fantastic and food and drink was all included. Thanks for the stay!

Great property that fitted all our needs in a great location.

  • 4 of 5

The property is in a great location just slightly away from the hustle and bustle so gave peace and quiet when needed . It is fully equipped with everything needed to make the stay as easy as possible . Very good value for the rental price .the whole experience with the realtor was easy and comunication was excellent. Added bonus was the fact that the property was cleaned every 3 days . Would definitely recommend.

Owner's Response: Thanks for these comments. We are glad you found the house comfortable and quiet. I laughed a bit at the description of Barbados having "hustle bustle" but I understand what you mean with our house as a comparison to the nightlife in the Gap! I will let Juliette know that you appreciated her meticulous attention to cleaning and refreshing the home. She is a gem! Please come again soon.

Absolutely loved the home away from home experience!

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, accommodating and a great location. Katherine was a delightful young lady who tended to our every need. The grocery down the street is somewhat of a variety store ranging from flip flops to fresh food. ( a little costly compared to the grocery at Oystin's, you can shop and they will shuttle back to your house!)

I would return to this location in dover anytime, close enough to the restaurants and activities but far enough to relax in the evening. Thank you Michelle for opening up your home ❤

Owner's Response: You are so welcome and I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the house so much. I agree that the location couldn't be better with beaches just at the end of the street, restaurants 5-10 minutes walk, a small grocery and a quiet neighbourhood. Thank you for mentioning Katherine. She and the others at Rex Realty work hard to make our guests' stay pleasant and we are lucky to have them as property managers. Come on back anytime!

Stylish, well-appointed beach house, close to surfing

  • 5 of 5

We spent a delightful week in this charming house with our two adult children. The bedrooms are airy and spacious with high ceilings and comfortable beds. Even on sultry Barbadian nights, we never had to turn on the AC to sleep. Preparing and eating meals at home was a pleasure. In fact, we had more fun shopping in the local markets and cooking at home than we did eating at restaurants. Although we drove to the nearby surf breaks each day, we enjoyed being able to walk down the street for quick dips. When we arrived we were warmly greeted at the door, given a brief tour, then left to enjoy our week. Our first visit to Barbados was not only pleasurable, but problem-free. Many thanks to all who made this so.

Owner's Response: I'm sitting in a Canadian winter and your review made me very homesick for Seagrass and Barbados! You captured the essence of life at Barbados and I would only add the bliss of sipping morning coffee on the back patio while the monkeys romp in the trees beyond! Thank you for your lovely review. So glad you found Barry's Surf school and enjoyed it. I will be sure to let my property manager know that she and her staff made a difference during your stay. Please come back soon!

The perfect home for your vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property from Dec. 5th-12th, 2016. It was our first trip to Barbados and it definitely didn't disappoint. This property made the trip that much more enjoyable. The location is fantastic. It is within walking distance to amazing Dover Beach, as well as great restaurants and other amenities. With that being said, it's also far enough away from the noisy nightlife, so one is able to enjoy peace and relaxation. You really have the best of both worlds. The house is absolutely fantastic and has everything one would need for their vacation. Kitchen is stocked with everything one would possibly need for a short or extended stay--not to mention very spacious! The bedrooms are very large with comfortable beds and the best part is there are 3 full bathrooms--a real plus with traveling with others. It has a small beautiful back yard, with nice table and chairs. We even had monkeys visit us on a few occasions! This is where we ate most of our meals as well as evening cocktails. It also has a clothes line out back which was fantastic to hang suits and towels on after a long day at the beach. They also have beach towels available. My husband and I travel quite a lot and I can honestly say this has been one of the nicest homes we have stayed in during a vacation. The owners have thought of everything to make you feel comfortable during your stay. We would highly recommend this property as well as Barbados as your next vacation destination!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments! We are so happy you discovered Barbados and Seagrass! Sometimes it's the little things that count such as a place to hang wet stuff when you return from the beach. The monkeys don't reliably come to entertain our guests so that's a plus! Please do come again very soon. We look forward to seeing you again next time.

This property is absolutely amazing

I really enjoyed staying at Seagrass. The property was clean, comfortable, and close to the gap. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a great experience with renting a house in Barbados for the first time.

Owner's Response: We will be thrilled to have you come back! It is so nice to have a comfortable home to stay in instead of just one room in a hotel. We are glad that you agree and found it appealing to have the full run of the house. Come on back soon!

Seagrass is a perfect home from home.

  • 5 of 5

The location is brilliant; just a short walk to the beautiful Dover Beach, and close enough to the bars and clubs in St Lawrence Gap to be convenient, but far enough to be away from the noise and bustle.

The house has everything you could possibly need, and is extremely comfortable. For 6 adults, it was a real plus to have 3 bathrooms.

The convenience store on the corner of the road is useful, along with the atm just around the corner. We also made use of the car hire firm and trip booking office which are within a couple of minutes walk.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others, and would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.
