Located at the outer edge of River Wild in Mt Bachelor Village resort, this 2300 sq ft tucked away home is minutes from the heart of town, yet away from traffic, allowing you to escape the urban chaos, the concrete, the crowds. It sits on a 1/2 acre private lot in a forest setting surrounded by native landscaping & ponderosa pines. It was this piece of land I often walked with my first dog Nora. No other spot would do but this particular one where we always found peace in nature.

Mt Bachelor Skiing & Snowboarding:
Mt Bachelor is up Century drive just 18 minutes from River Wild. It sits in the high desert of the Central Cascades where the snow is light & dry, offering the driest powder snow in the NW. Mt Bachelor is the largest ski resort in Oregon & the second largest single-mountain ski resort in the U.S., behind Vail & the 6th largest of all ski resorts in the nation. The mountain is surrounded by tall hemlocks & pines of the Deschutes National Forest with breathtaking views of the Three Sisters-Faith, Hope, & Charity, & Broken Top. It offers one of the nations longest ski seasons-Mid-November through the end of May (weather permitting). Due to it's challenging terrain parks & excellent snow conditions, Mt Bachelor is the official training resort of many professional & winter Olympic athletes.
In recent years Mt Bachelor has striven to attract freestyle skiers & snowboarders. A 400 ft (122m) Olympic size super pipe with 18 ft walls is the first & still the best on the West Coast. It is among the best on the continent & hosted the 2006 USA Olympic Qualifier. The Air Chamber terrain park is about 6300 ft long & occupies 20 acres with its jumps, rails, quarter pipes, spines, hips, & tabletops to make it a snowboarding playground. There is also a mini half pipe for novice snowboarders. World Snowboard Guide put Mt Bachelor on its list of best snowboarding Resorts in the world.
Mt Bachelor features 3683 acres of terrain, 3365 ft of vertical drop & 71 runs ranging from double black diamonds to easy green runs for first timers. It boasts 88 trails for Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, & Expert with 12 lifts-7 express, high speed Quads, 3 Triple Chairlifts, & 2 Magic Carpets, & with 2 Tubing Lifts. The longest run is 1.5 miles & the 1600 acres of skiable areas are groomed daily.
Other than Mt Bachelor, there are dozens of lakes, falls & so much more-even lava lands where American Astronauts came to practice moon walking on pumice.
Come visit so Bend can become your 'raison d' etre.'

This is a very nice house in a great location overlooking the river. It's in a quiet community in a lovely pine forest. There were 5 of us and we found the house extremely comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. The house has all the modern conveniences and everything you need is here, as well as a bit of wildlife!
Shopping isn't too far away and access to Bend is good. I will always have fond memories of this place.
Everything about our stay in Bend was perfect--starting and ending with this home. The owner, Cathy, was amazing! She was attentive and accommodating without being invasive--giving us suggestions about the home, location, parking, caterers, and interesting sites for our group. It is a beautiful home--everyone who came to visit commented on how spectacular it is--and oh-the view! (Overlooking the river!) The home was close to Tetherow, where our son's wedding took place, but also close to the downtown area with it's wonderful shops, breweries, and eateries. I HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone visiting the Bend area.
The home is lovely, extremely well appointed, and close to hikes and downtown. The comfort level needs to be emphasized. Quite exquisite with a FULLY stocked kitchen, more luxury towels and linens than anyone can imagine. The porch is the ultimate place for dining, reading, and entertaining. A great experience.

My group of seven had a great time staying at this property. We had looked at others in the area, but this one what the only home that offered a view of the river. It was very nice to hear the river all weekend as we relaxed on the large porch. The setting is really perfect! The house was well stocked with lots of towels, kitchen accessories, and extra bedding. Cathy was very responsive and made the move in and move out extreme easy for us.
I plan on bringing my famil to this property very soon.
This home had everything we needed for our stay. The owners have thought of everything- from toiletries to items in the kitchen. We will definitely be back!
We have stayed in many VRBO homes and I must say this one was one of the top five. We had everything we needed there but if we forgot something, we found it was already there - spices, check - soap, check, beach towels, check. The list goes on. The location was good for all that Bend has to offer, only a couple minutes to the river, restaurants and grocery store. We biked into town on the trails near the house and walked the Deschutes River trail below the home with the dogs several days. The house is fairly private with just one close neighbor but no one was there when we were. It has a view of the river but the bank is steep so it's easiest to use the trail by the pool. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and not super busy. The house was comfortable for our group of five. It was very clean and did I mention it was stocked with everything we could possibly need? :). The owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We recommend!
