King of the mountains

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year we have stayed at this home and it is fabulous. The views are tremendous and the quietness where it's located is very peaceful. It is very clean and we plan on staying again next fall and summer if it does not sell yet. It is a model home and we did have a showing why we were staying there but we just enjoyed the beautiful outdoor fireplace and patio why they were showing it. It has more than enough room as we had 2 families in it and felt very comfortable. One day we just sat and looked at Grandfather mountain all day, and as a cyclist, I ventured out to the Blue Ridge south bound one day, Hickory Nut Grove Road another and then on up to the Viaduct on the BR to the north another. Very classy place in the Carolina's that we love every time.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I's family stayed here in June 2016. I have traveled and stayed extensively throughout the NC mountains, and this home is at the top of the list. The view from the back porch, from the living room when all the doors are open, from the bedrooms, are fantastic. There was nothing better than sitting on the back porch each night, enjoying the fire and fresh mountain air, and hanging out with the family until bed time. The home is gorgeously decorated and has all the amenities you need. The surrounding area has plenty to do - from shopping in Boone and Blowing Rock, to hiking at Mount Mitchell and Grandfather Mountain and Linville Falls, to enjoying long drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The owners are very friendly and excellent to work with. From someone who has rented many homes in the NC mountains and has high standards, I highly recommend this home for any mountain vacation. You won't find a better spot.

Heavenly View

  • 5 of 5

This home is absolutely gorgeous. Every room has a view of Grandfather Mountain that is memorable. The furnishings, bedding, and decor are perfect. We loved the side porch with a fire for afternoons and late nights. The patio table was ideal for lunch. We eagerly await another visit!

Bliss

  • 5 of 5

One of the most beautiful properties I have ever seen. Views are breath taking and it would be easy to never leave the estate and have a wonderful time. House is a perfect combination of elegance and comfort. We loved the covered porch and spent every night by a fire until late in the evening. Really enjoyed cooking in the great kitchen, just needed some steak knives and a few more casserole dishes but that is being picky....special sincere appreciation to Ansel (caretaker) for going above and beyond the call of duty to handle a tricky situation on the weekend! He was the man of the day! We had a truly spectacular weekend and really hope we can return again..am worried about the rate increase......need to start saving now. Thank you owners for sharing a most memorable property!

Gorgeous views

  • 5 of 5

The home was a true delight. The road going up is long and steep but worth every bit when we got to the top and saw the views. The home had everything we needed as far as sheets, linens , cooking tools, etc. Took one day and just had a fire on the patio and looked at Grandfather mountain all day relaxing. Extremely quiet at the top where it's located. We will be back again for sure.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

The mountain was ours! Picture perfect, unobstructed view of Grandfather mountain. We had breakfast every morning on the porch & watched the cows graze in the pasture down in the valley. The house was very clean and equipped for us to cook there. This is a model house for a development so it's the only house built (as of 9/2014). Once you find the neighborhood just keep climbing the mountain until you see a gorgeous house with perfect view. We would love to return for another vacation!

We drove over to Roan Mountain for the day for some hiking on the AT & it was perfect. We stopped at Trosley Farm on the way home to pick up treats to add to dinner. http://www.troslyfarm.com/

River Dog Coffeehouse & Cafe had a great lunch.
