5 Bedroom, 5 1/2 Bathroom Lake Front Retreat with amazing sunrise on quiet cove
Why Betsy Madden chose Mineral
We chose to build on this property at Lake Anna for several reasons. We had wanted a home on a private cove of the lake, which would offer both peace and serenity, away from the boat traffic and also offer safety for younger children to float around, play on the beach, jump off the dock and water trampoline, fish, etc. We also wanted a big water view and the ability to watch the boats and water sports nearby. Cucumber Cove offers both this private cove feel and also has a spectacular big water view with amazing sunrises! We also wanted to be in a community with amenities such as a swimming pool and tennis, to give a variety of activities for family, friends and guests. We love the private side of Lake Anna with the warmer water for an extended season for using the water in the Fall and Spring. We also like how quiet and safe the private side of the lake is without all the weekend boat traffic of the public side. We know guests will love the peace and tranquility of Cucumber Cove! We enjoy entertaining and hosting friends and family at the lake house, so our goal was to create a retreat where multiple families could come and enjoy time together in this beautiful lake setting and also a home where each family could have their own living area which is completely independent with a separate kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. We couldn't be happier with the way our new lake home turned out and we look forward to sharing it with your family!
What makes this House unique
We fell in love with this lot the moment we saw it and knew it was the perfect lot to build our lake house retreat. We had always wanted to be on a quiet cove, but yet still have a big water view. This lot offers both! We just love the quiet serenity that this cove offers. The views of the lake from every room of the house is what sets this house apart. Guests love that they can have a master suite with a lake view in each of the 5 bedrooms and the extra bunk room for kids. When first walking through the front door and seeing the wall of windows looking on to the lake, will take your breath away! Our goal was also to have a house where two families could vacation together, but yet have their own living space to enjoy family time. With the lower level as a separate living area with a full kitchen and coffee bar and two master bedrooms and living room, etc. we feel that Cucumber Cove offers a unique vacation experience for families that not many other houses offer. We wanted to have everything available at Cucumber Cove so families never have to leave the grounds to have a great vacation - a retreat atmosphere. We designed the outside area with an abundance of games from a horse shoe pit, corn hole, croquet, fire pit area, sandy beach and the boathouse with a covered conversational area and sunbathing deck and so many water sports available. From kayaks to water trampoline, paddle boards, floats, vacationers will never want to leave! Once you see the view from every room of the house, and experience the amazing sunrises, you will truly feel like you are on vacation! .

"Cucumber Cove" is a Great Home!
We just had a great time at this home! It is spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated, and offers fantastic, private outdoor space and views. Betsy was a pleasure to interact with. You won't be disappointed with this terrific property!
Family Reunion Chooses the Right Spot
This property met all of our requirements; a beautiful house in central location, on a quiet lake, great views, large open living areas, 5 bedrooms with baths, plenty of comfortable outdoor seating, and a generous supply of kayaks. All this was just as advertised. The owner responded very promptly to a concern we had. The response was amazing. All this, plus the great weather, made for a memorable reunion.
I wish i could leave 6 stars
Betsy's house is absolutely amazing. Besides the fact that Betsy and her husband communicated efficiently, they were caring and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. We stayed over Labor Day week.
This pictures do not do this house justice. It is absolutely the most gorgeous home we had ever stayed at. They had everything we needed to cook in everyday. Everything was clean and new.
The toys for the lake was used everyday all day. The kids enjoyed the boats and the adults enjoyed the paddleboards.
Definitely staying there again.
A week was too short for this wonderful house and location. House and the views were spectacular. My grandchildren had a wonderful time catching dozens and dozens of bluegills (I got a little tired baiting the hook but that is what grandfathers are for) The house was perfect and had everything you could possibly want. The owner went out of her way to answer silly questions and made sure that we had an amazing vacation. Thank you Betsy.
Thank you Wes! We so enjoyed hosting your wonderful family at Cucumber Cove and there were no silly questions, haha. We love to help in any way to make sure you have the best family vacation possible! All these memories that you are making with your family are so precious and will last a lifetime :)
Hope to see you soon!
Family Vacation III
Our family gathering was GREAT.
Creating a ton of GREAT memories.
Our vacation home made these all possible.
We thank God for the opportunity.
beautiful lake property
This is a newer beautiful home with a lovely lake view. There are 3 stories so it's good for multiple families to spread out. The two kitchens with two refrigerators was nice. There is a very large tv in the lower level to watch movies on. The lake temperature is very warm in the summer and would be really nice in the spring and fall. We had fun using the kayaks and paddle boards, and the covered boat dock was enjoyable to sit at with the ceiling fan blowing and lots of seating. Great views from the house and dock.
Lake Anna offers a truly unique vacation experience for travelers who want to experience the beauty of the lake with all it's water sports, great restaurants, fun outdoor family activities and tranquility. Lake Anna is the 2nd largest lake in Virginia and is 17 miles long and with over 13,000 acres of water surface. Being so centrally located in Virginia, visitors can also take advantage of the close proximity to both Richmond and Charlotesville with their rich history dating back to the Revolutionary war. A visit to Monticello in Charlotesville where Thomas Jefferson lived or a visit to the famers market in this quaint college town of UVA is a must. Fredericksburg is also only 45 minutes away and has loads of shopping and a great historic downtown for antiquing and unique restaurants. King’s Dominion amusement park is also nearby and many wineries. Our favorite winery is Lake Anna Winery with it's live music and food. Lake Anna offers plenty of family fun on the water including water skiing, wake-boarding, tubing, swimming, boating jet skiing and great fishing!
