Luxury duplex apartment, largest in building. Communal pool and sweeping views of the bay of Sao Martinho.

Our apartment has been furnished and equipped to an exceptional standard and has a wonderful elevated position with stunning sea views. There are just a few steps and a driveway down to the beach and a small grassy children's play area.

The apartment is in the heart of the town within metres of many restaurants, cafes and bars along the traditional cobbled streets. The private balcony on the upper floor is great for entertaining & eating outside. An additional private patio accessed from the lounge and kitchen has direct access to the pool (handy for families). A lifeguard is present in summer months at pool and beach.

For the moments where you'd like to stay in and relax there is English satellite TV for all your favourite programmes and a DVD player with over 20 DVDs suitable for all ages. We have also installed a Cable TV contract with 140 channels in many languages for everyone to enjoy. The movie channels are generally in English with Portuguese subtitles. There are many Portuguese channels and news and sports channels from many worldwide countries. There is also free, fast and unlimited wi-fi in the apartment for your use.

  • There are three bedrooms. Four can sleep in the twin bedroom as there are sliding single beds underneath the twin beds. Please note, it is tight fitting 4 in this room, you may prefer to take one of the mattresses and place it in one of the other bedrooms. There is a sofa bed in the lounge to sleep two. There are also two armchairs which fold out to make single beds in the conservatory. These may be moved and used anywhere in the apartment but please return them to the conservatory after use.

The apartment is a duplex and accordingly may not be suitable for all elderly / infirm persons. There is however an internal garage or a back door accessed by a driveway at the rear of the block so the apartment is reasonably suitable for people with some walking difficulties. Full English satellite TV (150 channels) There is free wireless wi-fi available in the apartment for guests.

Special place in Portugal

We initially booked the apartment for one week,but ended up staying for two weeks due to the Iceland volcano and all three of us felt very lucky to have been able to enjoy the fabulous apartment and Sao Martinho for the extra week.

The situation of the apartment within Sao Martinho could not be bettered being within 5 to 10 minutes walking of all the amenities but also situated to benefit from the magnificent views of the bay from two of the bedrooms and both balconies.

The apartment itself could not be faulted with all requirements taken care of with a great attention to detail.

Sao Martinho has a great selection of restaurants to suit both price and style and if fish is a preferred option then the opportunities are endless.

If you have a car there are many restaurants of interest within a 15 minute drive of the town.

With our extended stay it did give us an opportunity to explore the surrounding area and with the benefit of the immaculate Portuguese road system distance was not a problem.

Areas we visited and would recommend are Nazare,Obidos(both the walled mediaeval town and the lagoon),Fatima , Sintra and Tomar to quote but a few.

Many thanks Antony. Over the years Pat and I have stayed in a variety of accommodation around the world but for comfort and ' a feeling of home' your appartment is very high on our ranking list.

Beautiful apartment - amazingly well-equipped!

Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday! The apartment was absolutely perfect - we couldn't believe how much equipment there was for our 10-month-old baby and 3 other children (aged 14, 12 and 9 years) - the owners really have thought of everything! Everyone had a great time, and San Martinho is lovely - very unspoilt, & we found the Portuguese people extremely friendly.

We didn't take a car & there was plenty to do without one - fantastic walks around the bay to the rocks on the other side, & of course the lovely big pool (a bit cold as unheated, but definitely warm enough to swim, & the children spent most days in it, for hours at a time!), some nice restaurants (the Italian "Portobello" was great) and bars, a wonderful clean sandy beach and a lovely playground for the children, really close to the apartment. The view from the property is beautiful - lovely and relaxing to sit with a book & drink on the upstairs balcony. We tried to catch a bus one day (to Obidos, a local mediaeval town) but it didn't arrive - apparently a very unusual occurrence, but as the weather was so hot we were more than happy to sit by the bay with a cold beer/ice creams instead!

The rooms were all huge & beds were extremely comfortable - our super-king with memory foam mattress was especially luxurious. Also provided were a great selection of DVDs & books to suit everyone, loads of board games, beach toys, & a fantastic array of basic cooking items, including even pasta, sauces & olive oil for emergencies!

Everywhere was beautifully clean, & the owners and Portuguese estate agents extremely helpful and friendly. I can't recommend this property highly enough & hope to be going back before too long - definitely the nicest self-catering apartment/villa we've stayed in!

Very spacious, light, comfortable and modern apartment, a stone's throw from the beach and the village centre but set in sufficient grounds to be private. Excellent standard of fixtures & fittings - especially well-equipped kitchen, which is a rarity in rental properties. Stunning panoramic views from the bedroom balconies. Terrific location away from the "package" crowds but not isolated. Plenty to do within easy reach, and will certainly be going back - Highly recommended

Luxury, sun, seafood and wine - lovely!

We stayed there for a week in June 2008 and had a lovely time. The apartment itself is enormous and very clean. I particularly liked the space downstairs with a big window/worktop connecting the kitchen onto the lounge area which meant we could socialise while cooking (the local wine is also pretty good!). All the bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious - loads of room for the kids to run around. Two of the bedrooms have balconies with fantastic views over the pool and down over the bay. The apartment is very tastefully furnished and also had all the practical things we needed with a young family - high chair, plastic cups and bowls, kitchen with everything you could think of.

It's in an ideal position, on a hill just 2-3 mins walk above the sea front which I should imagine gets very busy in the summer months and high enough to make the most of the view. The private swimming pool is lovely with big palm trees and lots of grass to sit on.

The surrounding is good for exploring - great scenery, some decent walks (there's a great raised board walk over the dunes and round the bay), fantastic seafood restaurants and bars. If you hire a car or take the train, there are plenty of places to visit nearby.

Definitely one of the most relaxing holidays we've had - I can thoroughly recommend it and we'll certainly be going back ourselves!

Phantastischer Blick, ohne Palmen!

Absolut positiv sind die Ausstattung der Küche, die wirklich keine Wünsche offen lässt, der Blick auf die Bucht, die Matratzen der Betten und der Pool! Wir waren zu viert da und haben abends viele Stunden mit dem Blick auf das Meer genossen.

Perfekt ist auch die Lage der Wohnung bezogen auf die Infrastruktur: Einkaufsladen , Brot und nicht zuletzt das unmittelbar unter der Anlage gelegene Cafe Palmeira mit der Möglichkeit zu Galao und selbst gebackenen Kuchen (Sehr lecker vor allem der Rüblikuchen!).

Gut war auch die unkomplizierte Schlüsselübergabe, da die Verwalter in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wohnung erreichbar sind.

Was gegen Ende der Saison passieren kann: das Schloss der Haupttüre war defekt, so dass wir nur über den Terrasseneingang in die Wohnung kamen und leider fiel auch die eine Dusche aus.
