About the property

Farmhouse, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 7) Loft is a separate unit that sleeps 2

Four bedroom three bath farmhouse in the heart of South Willamette Valley Wine Country. Great getaway spot and home base for tours and private events at the local wineries. The Crows Nest Loft is a separate unit on the property next to the main home it sleeps two and is a nice getaway for couples, may be rented with the house as well.

The Farmhouse and Loft are located on a 50 acre estate property just 20 minutes from Eugene and is easily accessible from Hwy 126, Beltline West and the greater Eugene area.

The Farmhouse is the perfect setting for a retreat, Family getaway or a tranquil domaine for the 'bride to be' and family before the big day. It is only 5 minutes from Sweetcheeks Winery and 10-30 minutes from seven other winery's in the area. Whether it's the Annual Barrel Tour, a winemakers dinner, a local wedding, retirement or anniversary party, this home will surely accomodate you, for all your 'home base' needs.

Our special little secret we lovingly call the 'Crows Nest'' is a separate loft on the same estate. Open living area one king bed and private bathroom. It has a private entrance and is a fabulous place to relax at the end of a busy week. This little gem has 'couple romantic getaway' written all over it.

This property can be rented ala cart or all inclusive. We do not offer this property as an event venue. It is unique and rare to have the opportunity to submerse yourself in the rural setting of viticulture with such a supreme homelike setting. Come stay awhile.

About Tami Neumann

Dan Smith is the owner of Sweet Cheeks Winery and a few other properties in the Crow Valley. In 1976 Dan escaped the concrete and traffic of LA County with his very pregnant wife, kids, a dog, cat and a hampster. Dan arrived with that wide eyed appreciation of the beauty and diversity Oregon has to offer. He has devoted the last 36 years planting and nurturing his vineyards, building a successful winery and refurbishing several homes in the valley.

Tami Neumann purchased this farmhouse in 1984

Why Tami Neumann chose Willamette Valley Oregon

This property was part of the original McCulloch Homestead that spread over 100 acres. The old McCulloch Cemetery is about 1/4 mile south of the estate. The home was built in 1904 and a picture in the sunroom of the farmhouse shows the McCulloch family and the original version of the house. There is an orchard the family planted visible from the westside deck of the house. Dan has remodeled the 'Farmhouse' to luxury status with a level of comfort that is felt when you walk through the door. When asked about what attracted Dan to this area, he said honestly it was the Ch'i of the valley that left an impression on his soul. Dan would like others to experience the peace and beauty embedded in this land.

Very peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We were in Eugene for the NCAA Track and Field Championships and found the Farmhouse the perfect place to stay! It was a 15-20 minute drive to Hayward Field - but it was worth it. The place was very serene with lots of wildlife in the area. We had 3 couples and 1 teen and had more than enough space. And if someone wanted a little "alone time," there was space for that as well. Everything was in perfect working order but could have used a little mowing and weed eating. Of course - with all the rain in the PNW - it would be difficult to stay on top of! We would definitely stay here again!

The only complaint we would have is the lack of means of communicating if you have more than family staying there. Due to the lack of cell service - we weren't able to let anyone know when we would or wouldn't be arriving. The landline phone would not allow any incoming calls so that didn't help out much. If internet service were available - that would at least allow texting. It wasn't a huge issue - but would have been an added plus!

Owner's Response: Happy you enjoyed the serenity that is this home. Yes, 2017 has been a wet one and it has been a challenge to keep up on the grass in the fields. We are blessed to have all the rain this year :). The landline telephone works for outgoing local and incoming calls. The number is provided in the rental information before arrival and family can contact you during your stay.

Beautiful property and setting!

Beautiful home in a lovely valley near Eugene. The wineries, vineyards and scenery are gorgeous, as was the home. Perfect for a wine tasting or relaxing on the deck; serene and peaceful. Well appointed kitchen, beautiful master suite and plenty of bathrooms. Highly recommend!

Farmhouse

  • 4 of 5

My family and I rented the Farmhouse to attend a wedding. We had an awesome time. The accommodations were perfect. We came into a nice cool home as it was a searing 87 out. It was spacious and we did not care about tv as we visited and played games. Kitchen had everything we needed. Tami was friendly and a pleasure to work with we would definitely stay there again.

Great Thanksgiving in Eugene!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the Farmhouse! The place was great for a familly Thanksgiving. We'll be back. Great, secluded location - instead of bringing a turkey, we should have brought a shotgun since we had wild turkeys in the yard (kidding!). We also had deer, quail, and a neighbor dog..... Wonderful place for privacy, seclusion, and relaxation in nature.

Postcard perfect Christmas

  • 5 of 5

We loved our holiday stay at the farmhouse. Two families returning home to Oregon for Christmas from Utah and Southern California. 7 guests; 4 adults, 2 teens, and a toddler. We were able to host our local extended family for get togethers. The large dining table was perfect for family meals.

The house is beautifully restored and feels brand new. Charmingly decorated and well appointed. Cooking in the large kitchen was a joy. A very cozy and warm home.

The beds were comfortable. We especially enjoyed the enormous master suite. The claw foot tub and gas fireplace were the icing on the cake!

The owners were very easy to work with. Friendly, professional, and very quick to respond to any questions. They were very accommodating, going the extra mile to allow our local family to surprise us with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and other decorations upon arrival. It was a magical surprise.

We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and afternoon walks around the area. However, we never found the old cemetery. One morning we were visited by a large flock of wild turkeys and later spotted several deer in the neighboring vineyard. I spent many hours curled up in the sunroom with a book, watching the fog roll across the little valley. Picturesque!

We hope to return someday.

Super Comfortable Farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

We rented the farmhouse and loft for an extended family gathering, and the space was perfect for us. The kitchen has everything you'd need for cooking, there's a great washer and dryer and there was plenty of seating for everyone throughout the house. The grounds are beautiful and surrounded by apple trees. It's a great place in a beautiful location and a short drive to Eugene.
