Why Bob Hagan chose Hopatcong
I fell in love the first time we saw "The Lake House" and knew this would be my perfect vacation home. This was my little slice of heaven but when I left my corporate job in 2016, I opened my doors to guests to help offset costs and to reinvest to make this the best holiday rental in the entire market. As for the location, I love Lake Hopatcong with its 43 miles of shoreline and is great to explore by boat or kayak. You won't find any hotels or B&B's on this lake even though its only an hour from NYC... and you won't find a better rental property on the lake either. As for the surroundings, the Lake House sits at about 950 ft elevation in the Appalachians mountain system and right in the middle of the New Jersey Highlands with its abundant wildlife, heavily forested hilly terrain and its long history. The quite neighborhood and flat lot are highly desirable in a lake property.
What makes this House unique
The Lake House is currently VRBO's #1 rated property based on guest satisfaction in the entire market! I think you will agree that this is among the best locations on Lake Hopatcong. The deep water Davis Cove is great for swimming and fishing yet the view of the main lake is extends almost 180 degrees. The lower 50' x 20' deck is built right over the water and features a hot tub and a 50 ft. dock where you can keep your boat or you can rent a boat from the many marinas or even rent my power boat. There are numerous restaurants and bars around the lake with dock assess. The home is located on a quiet side street and our lakeside neighborhood is perfect if you are a walker or runner. I built steps down into the water that make access to swimming or floating very easy.

Wonderful relaxing long weekend
Lovely place. Owner was very easy to work with. House was on a beautiful lakefront spot. Very relaxing and quiet location. It was exactly the getaway my sisters and I needed. The perfect weather was an added bonus. Highly recommend. Five stars.

A great week at the lake
Our first time using home away and it was a great one! We found this wonderful property that was perfect for my family of five with room to spare. Lake Hopatcong is a great vacation location with lots to do and places to eat. There was not one moment of our vacation that we weren’t busy doing something. The house was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed to cook and care for our young children. I couldn’t really say there was anything that we would have changed with our accommodations except that the master bedroom gets a lot of light in the morning and could use some black out shades. We are early risers so it didn’t bother us too much. Overall a great experience. Thanks Bob!
The house and the weather were just perfect. We had a relaxing enjoyable week.
Family fun on the lake!
Very comfortable, there’s always something to do, great for children and adults, a lot of space, the free kayaks were fun to use, a well working jacuzzi, and free board games was also fun. All around a Great Lake House.
The Lake House is right in the middle of the New Jersey Highlands region, rich in history, natural beauty, and small town charm. The lake itself is a cultural gem and a vacation destination for over 200 years. At 950 ft high, this is a true mountain lake, and you will see all sorts of waterfowl, bald eagle, muskrat, beaver and even an occasional bear. By boat or car you can visit lovely restaurants and bars all around the lake.
