Ile De Re: Ile de Re is a beautiful island off La Rochelle it is linked by bridge to the mainland . It offers an ideal version of french life. Cycling is the prefect mode of transport with people using cycle paths across the island. There are many vineyard and pine forests to cycle through in addition to the coastal routes.On the southern side of the island you will find the glorious sandy beaches. all within a short walk .Though most visitors arrive in Summer Re has much to offer throughout the year.

La rochelle has a famous music festival in July with many family and adult events in July .

There is a lot to do on the island and something for everyone's tastes.

Lovely people who have fantastic local information ,great facilities which are very clean and has great access to beaches , markets , bike rentals and restaurants!! We will be coming back to this little haven 😊

this was our second visit and its a great destination close to beaches ,local markets lovely restraunts.we stayed in both bungalows and they were tidy clean and had everything we needed for stay ,the pool is fantastic clean and water good tempature due to sun beaming down onto it most of day,

we got to meet owners as they were staying in house at the time and they could not have been more helpful advised us on places to go and visit and made sure we had what we wanted, last year we did not hire bikes but this year we did and we loved it ,,you have to hire them its best way of seeing the island. we cant wait for next august .

excellent holiday overall location suberb

Village centre with all amenities on hand including beach. No need to use car . We had a great holiday and kids enjoyed fun in pool .Accomadation was very comfortable a little small for 4 but adequate. Beds were very comfortable. Everyting we needed for a comfortable holiday. Excellent location .and perfect for base toexplore island by bikes .we would return.

wonderful holidat in Ile de Re

We went to Ile de Re for the second time in 2008, having fallen in love with it some years ago. Previously we had stayed at the hotel in Rivedoux which was lovely but more expensive after refurbishment, and at the Pierre de Vacance in St Martin which was disappointing (pool has glass barrier so you cant sit at poolside with small children and no views). We were delighted with our choice at Rivedoux - suited us perfectly. The house backs onto the Rivedoux square and the wonderful bakery - kids loved going out each day to collect the bread, fresh fruit and a picnic for the day's cycling. We only went to the wonderful beach on the last week, despite this being only around the corner. The kids found the waves amazing - the best they had seen. We also enjoyed the entertainment in the square, singing, daily markets (including evening) and of course, the boules at the sea front. The accommodation itself was great - very clean, well maintained, and all we needed, and the family very friendly. All in all, highly recommended - we are going back again this year!

Our home is in the centre of village all amenities on our doorstep.

Ile de Re is an exceptional Island, truly unspoilt and typically French. It benefits from a micro climate which means more sunshine. This property is in a prime location 100 metres from a long sandy beach and across road from a promenade. The property is in the centre of the village with a market , shops, restaurants, bars, bakery and activities within 1 minutes walk. There are watersports, sailing and kite surfing on the beach.The islands main form of transport is cycling suitable for all ages on the islands cycle lanes. Bike rental close by.

There are many interesting day trips in the area ,La Rochelle, aquarium, green Venice canal trip, Bordeaux, La palmyre zoo , Baleine Lighthouse , Fort boyard.Many kids activities available, beach clubs July /Aug, horse riding , tennis, sailing playground.

The city of La rochelle is across the bridge 5 km away. Bordeaux 2 hours.

La rochelle airport is 4 kilometres away.

Other Activities: Day trips boat to Fort Boyard, Aquarium , Zoo, Bordeaux. 2 hours drive

la rocehelle 8 km can get bus there .

Golf: 18 hole golf course and driving range a close drive away
