Built in 1919 and meticulously restored in 2011, this elegant duplex abounds with vintage style and charm. This listing is for the bottom floor (1BR/1BA). It's a perfect home-base from which to visit family and explore nearby restaurants, wine bars, music venues, and all that LA has to offer. Inside, the sun porch overlooks Los Feliz, with a straight-arrow view of the Hollywood sign that spans the entire width of the building. The kitchen has a cute vintage stove and a salvaged wood bar. The bedroom is separated from the living space by french doors, and has a spacious dresser and closet. Outside, you have a small patio is secure and private and perfect for dining. Come up the stairs from the patio directly to a nicely shaded section of Griffith Park boulevard, and walk 2 blocks down to Sunset Junction.
Sunset Junction is a Silverlake neighborhood hub, with Cafe Stella and Intelligentsia coffee, as well as a boutique called Driftwood, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, and the Silverlake Cheese store. Even closer is Cafe Casbah, Forage, Pazzo Gelato, Naturewell, and Vacation Vinyl records. We have the Silverlake Farmer's market once a week, right around the corner. There is a wealth of great boutiques, restaurants, and bars within an easy (slight downhill) 5 minute walk from the building.
For kids, there is Shane's Inspiration, pony rides, a carousel, the Zoo, and the Museum of the West just 2.2 miles from the building in Griffith Park.

We've been hanging around Silver Lake and restoring old buildings in the neighborhood since 1997. The diversity of architecture, the trees, access to Griffith Park, the hils, the reservoir, and the great restaurant selection in this neighborhood will hold our interest for decades to come. Love it!
We love walking to Sunset Junction and to the Farmer's Market. Love the stair streets, Lyric Theater, and being close to Trader Joe's. It's all here.

Excellent accommodations with easy access to everything Silver Lake. This newly renovated cottage is a great alternative to staying in a hotel in downtown la ( the closest hotels). Private space with incredible light and a view of the observatory and the Hollywood sign . Stay here! You won't be sorry .
We had such a lovely time. From the beautiful views from the patio to the super comfy bed, we couldn't have had a nicer time !

lovely place, secure and clean, quiet enough...great deck...parking was only an issue one night while there, no biggie if you're ok walking alone at night.
The apartment is located nicely for games at dodger stadium, Hollywood stars, and most all tourist tyle things in LA/ Hollywood. Overall happy we stayed here. Thanks Brian
We had a wonderful visit--beautiful indooor/outdoor space, and just what we needed after four nights of camping in nearby National Parks. The window bank made it feel like we were in a tree house! Easy and delightful space. We recommend!
This rental is beautiful and extremely comfortable both inside as well as outside on the deck. The wall of windows gives full advantage to the breathtaking view. My husband and I were impressed with the cleanliness and furnishings of this apartment. All amenities are provided by the owners and it is walking distance to Sunset Blvd shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed Haché LA for burgers, fries, beer and custard for dinner and Millie's Café for breakfast. The hospitality and convenience of this property can't be beat. Highly recommended for your LA visit.
Love this place! When you walk in, you are "greeted" by a bright, cheery, clean apartment. There is so much space and everything one might need is included. Look out the windows and see the Hollywood sign up on the hill. Bed and bedding are extremely comfortable. Our favorite feature is the deck, so inviting and comfortable to just hang out.
Location is so convenient to walk just about anywhere and there is easy parking right on the street.
Tim and Robin are wonderful hosts. Upon arrival, I was opening an email from Robin notifying me that she had heard from the housekeeper that the larger refrigerator was not working at the exact same time my husband called out, "I don't think the refrigerator is working." (There was a smaller one that was.) By noon the next day, we had a brand new fridge installed. Lovely, gracious hosts.
We've been here twice so far, and will be returning again shortly. Can't wait!
2 blocks from Sunset Junction with all of the cafes, restaurants and boutiques, and 2 miles from Griffith Park, with hiking trails, horseback riding, the Zoo, the Observatory, the Autry Museum, Travel Town, the Carousel, and Shane's Inspiration. Loads of fun for everyone. It's also nearby Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House in Barnsdall Park, MOCA, Disney Hall, The Echo/Echoplex and all that Echo Park has to offer. Plus all of the great things Hollywood has to offer: Universal Studios, the Walk of Fame, Arclight Cinema and Amoeba Music. As well as DTLA (downtown LA): Disney Hall, Museum of Contemporary Art, the Broad Museum, newly re-furbished Cliftons restaurant and the Grand Central Markey. Lots to look forward to!
