This apartment is superbly located and privileged by both the panoramic views of the beach and the bay and the very short walk (160 metres) to Sao Martinho beach. Key features of this property include free internet access, a large swimming pool, a children's play area and 2 private balconies from which to enjoy the sun and sunset.

This property is luxurious and spacious and it is comprised of a master bedroom with double bed and en-suite, a twin bedroom with balcony and a further twin bedroom. There are a further 2 folding beds which means that the property can sleep 8 in total. Please request these on booking.

There is also a DVD and CD Player. The apartment benefits from air conditioning in most rooms.

This property can be rented alongside the studio apartment 'Atlantic' to accommodate groups of up to 12 guests. The studio is located directly above Silver Sands.

Sao Martinho Do Porto : Retaining it's Portuguese charm and character, Sao Martinho do Porto is a remarkably picturesque seaside town. The town is built around the sheltered bay that provides for safe bathing away from the strong Atlantic currents. The bay also benefits from warmer waters thanks to to its sheltered location. There are life guards on the beach during the summer and the beach is cleaned most days showing off its beautiful iridescent silver sand which is where the area gets its name. Surrounding the bay there are numerous cafes and restaurants where the majority of the food on offer is typical Portuguese (superb seafood) though there is also a very good Italian & also a Swiss restaurant along the front of the bay too. In the surrounding area a number of excellent golf courses have been built, and more are planned.

Climate & vicinity: Sao Martinho do Porto enjoys an idyllic climate that tends not to reach oppressive extremes of hot or cold. Daytime temperatures mid-summer tend to range between 26ºC and 34ºC. Mid-winter daytime temperatures typically range between 14ºC and 18ºC.

Within the vicinity of Sao Martinho is the beautiful historic town Obidos (approximately 15-20 min drive) and the Obidos lagoon. Figueira da Foz is located about 10 min drive from Sao Martinho, it overlooks the Obidos lagoon (the largest lagoon in Europe) and similarly to Sao Martinho it provides safe bathing away. Sao Martinho's neighbouring town is called Nazare , it is a typical Portuguese seaside town which offers a good number of cafes, bars and excellent restaurants.

You will find 4 chairs on each balcony from which to enjoy the sun in the day and sit to watch the sunset in the evening.

There are 3 or 4 small supermarkets in Sao Martinho itself. Larger hypermarkets are close by.

There are lots of lovely restaurants which feature Portuguese food (with English translation on request) and there are Italian restaurants too.

Our recommendations -

Acasa – Excellent service & fresh fish you can choose.

Carvalho – In Main St – Old Town centre. Level with the back of Hotel Atlantica. Very good value.

O'Farol - located on the beach itself with the best views and good value.

There is also a very good Swiss restaurant, and a great Italian along the bay.

Also try Hotel Capitao – afternoon tea on the veranda is accessed at the side/rear of the building.

There is a market daily in Sao Martinho offering fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and bread amongst other local produce (mornings only).

                                                            Kitchen well equipped. Short walk to beach via train station. Good size rooms.

                                                            Photos in this advert do not have the correct views. Trains come in daily, not too noisy, but noticeable. View from balconies includes the train tracks.

                                                            Bathrooms are very small, picture here is out of proportion. Jacuzzi not working.

                                                            Key needed to enter and exit swimming pool area. Not convenient.

                                                            I would not suggest up to 8 sleep, would be crowded.

                                                            The accommmodation was excellent, very well equipped & robust enough for young children. As it as a last-minute arrangement we never saw the listing description.

                                                            The location was very good, esp. as two of us travelled there by train. A good view, provided they don't build on the vacant plot opposite.

                                                            It was prepared to a high standard and our stay was very enjoyable. Our only reservation was that the bathroom was small, & given that the other bathroom was ensuite in the room a toddler had to sleep in, not quite sufficient for the number of guests ( 4 adults, 2 small children).

                                                            e were very pleased with the service from Anthony Masters & would certainly recommend this property to others.

                                                            Sao Martinho itself is a very good size of resort for families with young children, plenty to do & very safe.

                                                            We were thrilled with the size of apartment.Ideal for a family of 5.The kitchen was extremely well kitted out and every room was spotless.Location could not have been better.Short walk to beach ,restaurants and shops.The booking was very straightforward and Ralph met us at the bus stop when we arrived to show us where the apartment is located.Sao Martinho do Porto is a great holiday destination.

                                                            My daughter and her friend loved having the fantastic swimming pool .We had a very enjoyable stay in Sao Martinho do Porto. It is a great place for a holiday with young children. The local seafood was first class. The beach two minutes walk from the apartment was completely safe with gentle waves and clean silver sands, that my children loved. The apartment was fantastic. Modern, spotless and well laid out. It was furnished beautifully. The views from the balconies were superb and sunsets absolutely gorgeous. The kitchen was well appointed with all the required appliances including dishwasher and washing machine. Very organized with documentation for every situation (eg, doctor, hospital etc). We are defintely coming back, we had one of our best ever holidays.

                                                            New apartment with spacious rooms, two balconies and very well equipped. Only bathrooms could be a little bigger.

                                                            Beautiful beach is within a short walk distance.

                                                            Very good and quick contact with the owner.

                                                            A small hint: watch out when entering and leaving the garage for the first time. The gate is quite narrow but you'll get used to it.

                                                            Spent a lovely week in this apartment with my partner and 3 children. Very well specified apartment, bedrooms very comfortable - and the kitchen is well fitted out.

                                                            Very nice swimming pool on the complex.

                                                            A short walk over the railway (through the station - no safety concerns) and you are by the beautiful beach, Lots of good places to eat within walking distance.

                                                            I think we will return!

                                                            The apartment is situated in the heart of Sao Martinho next to a string of great restaurants (particularly fish & seafood). There are also some fantastic restaurants hidden away along cobbled streets within a 5 min walk. Sao Martinho do Porto is about 100km north of Lisbon and Lisbon International Airport. Given its proximity to Lisbon and the excellent road links, Sao Martinho do Porto is a favourite place for holidays all year round. You can enjoy the exciting atmosphere, historic surroundings and leisure facilities the Silver Coast has to offer but also get into Lisbon easily for some city life. The train station is just five minutes walk away or there is a good bus/coach that runs regularly and takes less time. Within the vicinity of Sao Martinho is the beautiful historic town Obidos (approximately 15-20 min drive) and the Obidos lagoon. Figueira da Foz is located about 10 min drive from Sao Martinho, it overlooks the Obidos lagoon. The world famous Praia D'El Rey golf course is only 40km away. It was rated as the 13th best course in Continental Europe by Golf World magazine and features lovely sea views.
