Our house is located in historic Mariposa downtown and is a perfect location to return to during your visit to Yosemite National Park. We offer a fully equipped kitchen. The house has three bedrooms each with a queen bed, one bedroom has an attached half bath, and another with a sliding glass door to the back deck. The living room has a beautiful wood stove with views of the mountains above Mariposa. We are located on a quiet street and neighborhood. We are walking distance to many great restaurants and downtown shops. The town of Mariposa offers many activities in the summer for travelers, such as live music and festivals. Just two blocks from public transportation, leave your car and avoid trying to find a parking spot in Yosemite.
We have just newly remodeled the house with local wood flooring.

Ken and Schree Yager meet in Yosemite and have chosen the area to raise our family. Ken, a former rock climbing guide is the founder of Yosemite Climbing Association and sponsor of the Yosemite Facelift, an annual clean up of Yosemite National Park on Public Lands day. Schree works for a non-profit that connects youth to the natural world. We both love the park and the mountains and rivers that surround it.
The Owner purchased this house in 1996
We purchased this house because it is close to Yosemite National Park and we like the historic downtown Mariposa. We also enjoy the views of the mountains from the house.
We are two blocks away from public transportation to Yosemite National Park
Comfortable adequate accommodations!
Two of the three beds are very comfy with mattress toppers and the third is quite firm so I'm not going to say whether that is good or bad because some people like it that way. This property has no frills and no personal touch to speak of but it has more than enough of the daily necessities to get you by including an ample supply of towels both bath and dish and an abundance of cookware even for a hearty cook like me. The covered patio and carport were a bonus because it rained our entire stay so we were able to load and unload our vehicle while staying dry and even use the grill during a torrential down pour. Each room has its own climate control which is very nice when traveling with friends or family that have different ideas of what a comfortable temperature is, but be warned, if you are unfamiliar with using these remote controlled units it may take you a few minutes to figure them out. We did not have any need to contact the owners after our arrival because they provided us with all the information we needed before our trip including visitor information for the local area and personal recommendations for dinning and sites to see. They did respond quickly to an answer we had had prior to booking so I'm confident they would have done the same had we been in the need during our stay.
This was the perfect place for my family to stay on our first visit to Yosemite. The house was cute, comfy and clean. We were able to relax and sleep well and be right in the cute town of Mariposa. It was a lovely drive into Yosemite from there.
We were visiting Yosemite for 3 days with my parents and 2 year old twins and decided to stay here.
Our stay was very comfortable and we really liked the house. It is located close to the grocery store, and has great backyard. They have a pack n play and a loud table fan, which is provides enough white noise so that our 2 yr olds could sleep in their room.
The kitchen is well equipped and was perfect for our light cooking needs. Beds are very comfortable and the house has a nice feel.
We really liked that the owners had turned the AC on before we arrived, that way we didn't have to worry about house being too hot (it is in 90s outside in May).
This was a nice place to stay!
The house had everything we needed and the owner was nice and responsive.
It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved it !
Couple warnings about the area (no reflection on the house which was great)
The town has very little to see- short of the mineral museum. The gift shops are the usual hokey stuff for the most part.
There is a great bakery and great ice cream place. The restaurants in town pretty much stink and are ridiculous in price.
There is a new Greek place that is good and there is a place called savourys that everyone loves. We didn't go there because the prices were high. We did go the "Charles street dinner house" and it was overpriced and they were rude. Don't go there even tho everyone recommends it. Yuck.
I would go to the supermarket which is actually a great market and cook. He house has everything you need to make your own food so do it. It's a great house.
The park is far, and the ride is beautiful but be prepared for a windy road.
Overall it's a grew place ! Just stay home and go to the park - skip the town!!
This place was clean and easy to find. It was a blessing to have the washer and dryer there WITH some soap too so we could do laundry half way through our trip. This is an easy gateway to Yosemite. It is about an hour to the park.
This was a perfect fit for our family of 6 as we stayed in the area to visit Yosemite. The house was just as we expected and the owners were very helpful.
Downtown Mariposa offers many free music events in the Mariposa Art's Park. We are just a short walk from this venue. It is a great event for families or a romantic couple evening.
