A touch of luxury in rural Wales with stunning scenery
Barley Cottage was the perfect retreat for myself and my three grown children to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside in mid-Wales. The accommodation was easy to find and access, with secure parking and fenced garden for my dog to explore. Inside, the property was a pleasant mix of traditional and contemporary; I chose the 4-poster bedroom, my sons had the "Lads Pad" twin bedroom and my daughter had the attic suite. The open plan lounge/diner was perfect for us to prepare meals and chill, while not crowding each other's personal space. I'm not a TV watcher but I must say, the large screen in the lounge was very welcome as it was the first week of the World Cup! The views from the patio are just stunning and with the summer heatwave continuing, it was the perfect spot for breakfast and dinner; we were out exploring most of the remaining time - highly recommend Llandeilo (shopping, lunch, walking), Carmarthen (shopping), Llansteffan (walking and beach), Llandovery (Co-op for groceries, couple of good tea-rooms, castle hotel for drinks, couple of antiques and collectibles shops, rail station, petrol station opposite etc), Llanddeusant (walks to Llyn y Fan Fach and Llyn y Fan Fawr), plus walks from the front door. 5 stars.

Week of sunshine in a beautiful cottage
A week at Barley cottage was not enough. Wall to wall sunshine all week. Beautiful views across the valley. Welcoming neighbours with eggs for breakfast. Ideal if you have a dog with plenty of space and security.
Perfect place for family . Rekaxing time x
Pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay - we hope to welcome you and your family back again in the future.
Yes it was a nice place, nothing to fault really, great views
Such a wonderful relaxing break
The cottage was well equipped with all we needed. Having 2 small dogs we had an absolute bonus with the amount of land they had to run around in freely but securely. Can't wait to save up and book again.
We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.
Lovely stay in a lovely palce
It is a home, well furnished, well maintained, relaxing cottage in a gorgeous setting.
The rooms are specious and bright. Comfortable beds and generous floor plan. There were three of us and we definitely appreciated the en-suites!
We will be back. And I am telling other family and friends.
Thanks for the great review. The best recommendations are from our guests so really appreciate you letting family and friends know that you consider it a "lovely stay in a lovely place". It doesn't get any better than that!
