Chilliwack House Rental Photos and Description

Mountain view 3 bdrm Guest house & studio Cabin, Sleeps 2-10; River & Mountains

Nestled in the scenic Chilliwack River Valley this guest house and cabin is the place to stay in the Fraser Valley of BC if you enjoy the outdoors. Less than a 5 minute walk takes you to salmon fishing on the beautiful Chilliwack River!

This vacation rental property is located in an unbelievable location, surrounded by stunning scenery and moments from numerous outdoor adventures.

Hiking, white-water river rafting and kayaking, fishing, golfing and sight-seeing are among some of the things to do in the area. Also, boating, canoeing, lake fishing, sturgeon fishing, ATVing, skeet shooting, and dirt biking can all be done nearby.

We are conveniently located in a quiet country setting where you feel away from it all, yet we are only a 10 minute drive from town amenities! Why stay in town at a hotel when your group can stay here in the scenic countryside by the river!

The property sleeps up to 10, between the cozy BC cabin and the guest house. The cabin is detached and about 25 feet from the house and the guest house is the mainfloor of the house on the property. We aim to be affordable accommodations for groups.

The updated & unique 300 square foot studio cabin sleeps 2-4. It is perfect for couples or can also be rented to individuals or small families. Equipped with a hand-crafted king log bed frame (for couples) or 2 twin beds, a sofabed, tv/dvd, movies, kitchenette (no stove, but has a hotplate, toaster-oven, microwave & use of a barbeque), bathroom, table/chairs, and a couch, means that it has all the comforts of home yet has a country cabin feel.

Our mainfloor guest house accommodations can sleep up to 6 guests. It has 3 bedrooms (Retreat room & Slesse/Cheam), 2 bathrooms, and a guest lounge. The mainfloor can be rented as a whole or separately. When rented together, it gives you private use of 1000 square feet of living space!

The Retreat room sleeps 2 and has an ensuite bathroom and can be rented on its own or with the other 2 rooms.

The Slesse/Cheam rooms are rented together and sleep up to 4, with 2 twin beds in each, and share a bathroom; can be rented with the Retreat room. Both the Slesse/Cheam rooms and Retreat room connect to the shared guest lounge area.

The guest lounge includes a wood-burning stove, kitchenette (no stove), couches, table/chairs, board games, and a computer. Dry your fishing gear around the wood stove in the evenings, while tying flies at the table, watching movies, or playing games! Ideal gathering area for fishing groups!

Make use of the barbeque for guest use located on our huge covered patio with a custom table (seats 8) and lounge furniture. It's the perfect place to dine and relax with friends, family, and sometimes the hosts! Also enjoy our outdoor firepit, which adds to the BC holiday experience.

Relax in the hammock tucked away under a canopy of cedar trees. Enjoy the firepit under the country stars.

WIFI is available for free. Games room with pool table is available for guest use.

Many custom hand-crafted pieces of furniture furnish the accommodations, giving you a unique BC feel to your lodging.

Being that we often accommodate fishermen, our guests are welcome to use our small fish smoker to smoke the salmon they catch. It's a nice treat and a true Canadian experience.

If you enjoy scenic surroundings, including mountain views and the sound of the rushing river, big bright country stars, and fresh air, this is the place to stay for your vacation! If you enjoy outdoor adventures, such as white-water river rafting or kayaking, hiking ,fishing, ATVing, boating, sight-seeing & more, we are located in the ideal place to stay to do such things.

We are 2km from Chilliwack River Rafting & kayaking facilities, less than a 30 minute drive to Chilliwack Lake, and 20 minutes from Cultus Lake.

Other sights to visit that make a nice day trip include Bridal Falls, Harrison Hot Springs, Manning Park, Othello Tunnels, Hell's Gate Air Tram, & more! Vancouver is only a 1.5 hour drive away!

For you fishermen out there, we have a convenient location to fish both the Chilliwack (Vedder) River as well as the Fraser River. Guided sturgeon or salmon trips on the Fraser River are less than 30 minutes away! Spend part of your fishing holiday fishing the Chilliwack River and part of it fishing the Fraser River. The choice is yours in this convenient location! If you are interested in sturgeon or salmon guides, we can refer you to some!

The winter/spring months (Dec-May) are known for steelhead trout fishing on the Chililwack-Vedder River. In the Fall, this river is known for salmon fishing including coho, spings, pinks, and chum.

We welcome groups for fishing, family reunions, vacations, and overflow groups from weddings in Chilliwack. We offer affordable accommodations for your group getaway!

Discounts for stays longer than 1 week. Long-term stays are welcome!

Our cabin is pet-friendly (for dogs), however, the dog needs to be discussed with the owner and approved before booking! Please enquire about our policies! Only well-behaved, trained dogs allowed! Fee may apply. Charges will be applied to the owner for any damage caused by their dog.

Please check out a map of our location to see what an ideal location we are in for your next vacation! Located in the heart of Chilliwack River Valley means outdoor adventures are at your doorstep!

About Jessica Boisjoli

We are a family of 3, myself (Jess), Jay, and our new son Chase (9 months old). We looked at the property without the intention of ever running a B&B/guest house/vacation rental, but the previous owners conveyed to us the perks (meeting new people etc) and so we took over their business. 4 months later we became pregnant. Now, we've been running the guest house/B&B for nearly 2 years! Jay works hard as a deckhand on tugboats and has lots of stories to tell guests about such colourful experiences, as well as hunting & fishing stories. He is a wealth of information about BC, as he is a BC boy at heart! Myself, I love to travel. We hope that our son grows up to enjoy both travelling and being at home around nature.

Jessica Boisjoli purchased this house in 2010

Why Jessica Boisjoli chose Vancouver Coast

We actually never planned to own a vacation rental/B&B/guest sort of just 'fell into it'. But it was the best decision we ever made! We love the area and the numerous perks, including being surrounded by nature and any outdoor activity you can imagine. Jay and I always wanted a nice compromise between living in the middle of nowhere and right in town. We live in the country now and yet only 10 minutes to town! It's a perfect location!

What makes this house unique

Given the opportunity to run a B&B guest house has opened up so many opportunities for us. We've met amazing people from all over the world, Denmark, UK, US, Canada, Latvia, Switzerland, India, & more! What is especially great is the fact that we've made friends in the process. We are more than willing to spend time with our guests if they'd like to spend time with us, and give them information about the area and even show them around a bit. A beer or two has been seems to be a universal language! We're lucky to learn about different cultures and ways of life. For me, it's like bringing the travelling to me! We hope our son grows up to appreciate the diversity that this world offers, due to his experience in meeting people from all different cultures. We are very fortunate to have this property and to have met such incredible guests! We look forward to meeting more in the future!

Basement suite, great area , friendly hosts

  • 3 of 5

Probably not as great in the winter. Heated by a wood stove that required filling through out day and night. Didn't realize that the guest rooms were in a basement and the games room was in an unheated part of a workshop (though there was a space heater) in another building.

Although, we expected no stove, we did not realize that there was no kitchen sink and we had to wash dishes in a basin from a tap in the bathtub. Awkward for a group of 6 adults, 2 children that relied on all meals at home.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry to hear that your stay was not what you expected. When you checked out I was completely unaware that you had any issues. The only disappointment that you mentioned to me was regarding the fact that part of your group had come here with the flu and that you all weren't able to spend the quality time together that you had hoped. Had I known about any concerns within my control, I would have gladly tried to improve things for you. The wood stove is a feature that most people love, as it adds something that many people don't get to experience in their own homes. It is also a great way for fishermen to dry their gear. The games room is something we added as a bonus (without changing our pricing). It is great in the summertime, as the large door can be opened to enjoy the stars but of course it can be chilly in January (which is when you came). Indeed the time of year wasn't ideal for outdoor activities, although I do recall you mentioned you were able to make it out for a fire at the river. Spring, Summer, and Fall are ideal for hiking, rafting, kayaking, sight-seeing, boating etc. There is a lot to do in the area when the weather is on your side :) Winter-time is best for snow-shoeing or even just relaxing with family/friends (which of course wasn't really an option with part of your family being sick). When we have a group that only books the guest house (and not the cabin) we tend to do the dishes for those groups (as we have a dishwasher)...many guests enjoy getting out of having to do dishes ;) We've had hundreds of happy guests over the years of being here. The people who are happiest are the ones who are able to spend time with their friends/family and get out and enjoy the area and all it has to offer. Unfortunately for you, circumstances (weather and part of your group coming here with the flu) prevented these things from being in place, so I understand your disappointment especially since you were the coordinator of the holiday. Getting family together can be difficult as it is let alone when things don't go as planned. I wish you the best in the future and hope you and your family can enjoy some quality time together when everyone is feeling 100% :) Kind regards, Jessica

Perfect place for simple get away and to unwind

  • 5 of 5

It was perfect for simple get away especially for family. The place is easy to find, clean and cozy. Jessica and Jay are friendly and accommodating. A walk by the Chilliwack river is good to unwind, and wifi is a plus coz when the kids get bored they can sit down and play with their games.

We had a great time at this Chilliwack house. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

We have to say we were very surprised to see there was no kitchen in either

house. We probably would have not booked it if we new this. There was nothing we could do about this

once we got there. We finally got over the shock and enjoyed ourselves.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your stay. I understand that you were initially surprised that there is no full kitchen. I do recommend people read the listing before booking so they know what all is here. All the information needed about what is here is provided in the listing. We have hotplates, microwaves, toasters, crockpots, and access to a large barbeque. I'm glad you were all able to enjoy your stay. It seemed you were able to make the most of the stay and enjoy your time together. Kind regards, Jessica

Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed 6 nights at this property while in Chilliwack for a family wedding. The guest house was clean and roomy enough for six adults. It was an easy walk to the river for fishing, a 15 minute drive to Cultus Lake and easy to get into town for groceries. Jess and Jay were very hospitable, friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The "kids" (all between 19-24) loved the game room with a pool table and darts and Jay took the guys up the mountain skeet shooting! We had a great family holiday!

Owner's Response: Thank you kindly for the positive feedback! We are thrilled when guests enjoy their stay here. For us it is a gift to get to live in such a beautiful part of the world with so many outdoor activities so close by. Thus, it is a pleasure when guests come and are able to also enjoy the area. Thank you so much for your stay! It would be our pleasure to see you again in the future.
