We had a great stay at the Sunflower house. Nice little fenced yard for the pups, close to the beach, and close to lots of shops, etc. Would definitely stay here again.
I have stayed at numerous beach houses over the years and grew up owning one. This is exactly as I would expect a beach house to be. It is not a 5 star hotel. This is a rustic, cute, warm beach house. Of course they might be a little dust in a corner window sill and the floor may feel there is a little slope to it in the corner. But this place was exactly as I envisioned, as promised and comfortable. The kitchen has more than enough cooking and eating supplies. The fireplace was very nice. The house is warm and dry and did not have any old musty smells or quirks. It is simply a cute beach house. The ocean access is just down the street and does have 134 steps of stairs to get down. I would stay here again and recommend it to those people I know who are not too pretentious.
Stayed here three nights with wife and a grade schooler and preschooler. Also had two large dogs. The house seems dated and there has been some settling. We noticed that a square door on one of the bedrooms has a significant gap overhead. Really, though, the house seems to have been kept in relatively good repair. Appliances are dated too. The furnace fan in the garage is noisy and competes with the TV volume. The refrigerator is also older and runs all the time, sounds like a microwave running continuously. The shower head should be replaced with a water saving one. Hot water ran out quickly. But again, everything seems to work fine. There is no handle or hose for the faucet out front to wash off sand prior to entering the house. That would be nice to have especially with kids and dogs. The floor was sandy from previous guests when we arrived, too. Despite smoking being prohibited on the property, someone left several butts right outside the back door. At least the place had no hint of smoke smell. The back yard has a good strong fence. There was no fear of their escape letting our dogs out there. I didn't appreciate having to pick up dog droppings from previous visitors. The WiFi kept kicking our devices off. We reset it multiple times. It was still useful, but frequent maintenance was annoying. The beach is a quick walk. It is a steep staircase but the vehicle access is not far south and maybe you can use the Nordic Inn stairs that aren't as steep and also right there. It is a great large part of the beach that goes for miles. The cleaning fee was $105 but then we were threatened with additional fees if it was too messy when we left. We were also asked to start the dishwasher and a load of laundry prior to departure which is fairly common with house rentals. It would be nice to know what specifically is considered too messy as $105 should cover cleaning a house and I don't appreciate doing someone else's job on top of paying due to threats. I'd rather clean the house myself and keep the $105 if I'm doing any of it. I don't remember any hotels threatening additional cleaning fees.
Plenty of room for the 4 of us and 1 dog. Price was good for what you get. Location is nice. Close enough to just about everything. Walk to the beach is normal. Lots of steps but only a block away. Dog has own fenced area for business to be done. I would definitely stay here again.
