Not having a oven was a bit of an inconvenience and the pans present were useless for the stove. Furniture is extremely old collapsed and uncomfortable. For the cost of our stay, the owner could update these issues very easily.
We went for a few days right after our wedding to get some rest (Sunday to Wednesday). It was so quiet, no one else was around. We fished all day and made fires at night. It was exactly what we needed!
We had spectacular weather and spent most of our time here on the lake swimming and fishing. Very clean cabin, small, but yet enough room for the 4 of us. There are neighbors in the other condos, but we had a quiet stay regardless. Great location - close to a gas station and restaurants. Beautiful view. Nice bonfire area. There is fire wood; however, we brought our own to use. There is no oven, so plan accordingly. We had dock space for our boat. Only negatives were that we were upstairs in the condo. Not very convenient and adds to the many, many stairs leading to and from the dock. Also, the door to our upstairs cabin did not latch properly. Neither did the main door. Just an easy fix to mention. :) All in all, we had a beautiful time - thank you!
We had a great experience with very friendly owners. Nice location on the lake. Clean and nicely decorated. Great setup that you really need to bring nothing but your own clothes. We will definitely stay there again!!
We enjoyed the lake and went on some great walks. The condo was cozy and the lakeview was great. The couch was in rough shape, no air (but it wasn't hot) and there is no oven. There were a lot of non biting bugs that were able to get through the screen. They would go for the lights in the condo at night, and were dead by the morning. The lock on the door worked, but if you gently pushed on the door it would open.
We rented the Eide's upstairs unit for our honeymoon and had a really nice time. After planning a wedding in 3 months we just wanted a place to go shut off our brains and take it easy. It was a good place for that! The unit was very tidy and had most everything we needed for cooking (other than an oven). We spent the first afternoon laying out on the lawn reading. It's a wide open space great for games, or family gatherings. The neighbors came out to introduce themselves and chatted for a while. We fished off the dock and caught a few bass and pike. It's a very central location with plenty to do so we took a day and drove up to Itasca State Park, then headed back towards Brainerd another day. The lake water was clear as day with a really nice sandy bottom. A foot or so of rocky shoreline but it was no problem at all. They have a big fire pit which was really nice to sit around and watch the sun set and the moon rise over the lake. The view was unbeatable really. We would love to come back again and are grateful for the restful vacation. Side note: Paul Bunyan Land in Brainerd is not worth the $22 admission. Pirate's Cove Mini Golf in Nisswa was much more fun.
Great boating, fishing, hiking, bike paths and back roads to explore!
