Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Lake Lovers Overlook has one of the best views in Hiawassee from the interior of this home. View of the mountains of the United States National Forest. You can see Lake Chatuge, mountains of Brasstown Bald (tallest point in Georgia) and sunsets every night! Enjoy the view from inside the home during any season, or relax on the wrap around covered deck with lounge chairs, rocking chairs and a cool breeze from the outdoor ceiling fans.

Enjoy a HOT TUB in the winter or cool the temperature down for a refreshing summer soak while taking in the beautiful lake and mountain views.

The kingsize bedroom is on the main with a private full bath with a separate tub and shower, walk in closet and tv.

The second bedroom on the main level is has a queen size bed and a tv. A second full guest bath separates the master and the second bedroom. Under the cabinet night lights are in both bathrooms.

The kitchen on the main level is fully furnished with wormy maple cabinets and solid surface, quartz countertops. A dinning table is off the kitchen next to a laundry closet with a washer and dryer also on the main level.

A gas fireplace with large sofa, two lazy boy recliners and oversized chair in the vaulted great room on main, with a 42' flat screen tv, and dvd player. Access the wrap around deck from either one of two french doors where you will find two adirondack chairs, four rocking chairs, two chaise loungers, table and 4 chairs and a propane grill, we even have a back up propane tank.

Downstairs has a third queen size second master bedroom with attached full bath and inter from either the bedroom or the second living area. Bathroom has double sinks.

The living area has two twin beds in a trundle bed setup. A tv, cable, is in the 2nd living area with a game table to play cards or board games and video library. A foosball table is in the living area.

You can access the yard from downstairs where you will find a fire pit and view of the mountains! The home has wifi.

The best thing is this home is just a short drive, 1/2 mile to hwy 76, in the middle of Hiawassee. Ingles Grocery with a Starbucks is about a mile away. The Georgia Mountain Fair ground is only a short 10 minutes down highway 76.

Keywords: This is a lodge-style mountain home, Lake Chatuge view, Brasstown Bald view, western exposure with sunsets. Master on the main. 1/2 mile to middle of Hiawassee. Fully-furnished kitchen. 3 bedroom, 3 bath. Gas fireplace, gas grill, foosball table, two living areas with cable tv in each and each bedroom. Wifi and dog friendly!

The Google map with the location of this home is incorrect. This home is at a dead end road with trees and a creek on one side and the other has Leland cypress trees. Lake Lovers is in a private setting. Contact me with any questions. I know you will love the view! Its fantastic!

About Karen Harris

We are at Brasstown Bald, the tallest point in Georgia. You can take a shuttle most of the way or take a nice walk. You can see the monument from the balcony of our rental home, looks like a hay silo to the left. The view from the home is a beautiful breathtaking view with at least a 40 mountain peak view of national forest along with a peaceful view of Lake Chatuge and a western sunset exposure. The view can even be enjoyed from the living area in the winter.

Karen Harris purchased this house in 2003

Why Karen Harris chose North Georgia Mountains

Hiawassee is one of the most beautiful and peaceful towns in North Georgia. Small enough to make you feel away from all the hustle and chaos of a larger city but large enough to enjoy shopping and dinning in a small town. See how beautiful Lake Chatuge and the mountains of North Georgia can be. Just one mile from the middke of Hiawassee, this home is at the at a dead end private road. You may even hear the creek that is on one side of the property. You will feel like you are all alone with nature.

What makes this house unique

Lake Lovers Overlook is just 1/2 mile from the middle of Hiawassee off Hwy 76. This home has a private feeling on a dead end road. You can often hear the creek from the wrap around balcony. Enjoy the sunset over the mulit-peak mountain range, you can even see Brasstown Bald, the tallest point in Georgia.

The home is decorated in a mountain theme decor. The living room has a breathtaking view of Lake Chatuge and the mountains.

Very clean and inviting! The view is breathtaking.

  • 5 of 5

The driving instructions to the cabin were perfectly clear. Upon arrival, the cabin was very clean and inviting. Everything was labeled, which was a big help, and the kitchen had more than enough supplies for us. Our dogs loved lounging and sunbathing on the back porch and the views were amazing. We fell in love with the small town and quiet charm of Hiawassee and can't wait to come back. Our families want to come as well, after showing them pictures of the cabin!

Fabulous mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was amazing! It was clean and spacious and well-stocked with necessary items (towels, pots/pans, spices, gas for the grill). Even though the road became quite steep, it was also easy to get to, and I wasn't afraid for my car. I shared the cabin with two girlfriends with the intention of getting away from the city and relaxing. We watched movies, cooked, grilled, enjoyed the gorgeous view and just relaxed. The cabin is close to town, and if we had forgotten or needed anything, there is a grocery store 10 minutes away. There are also cute thrift shops to go scavenging for treasures. All in all, this cabin is in a convenient and beautiful location. Karen was easy to get in touch with and was forthcoming with any necessary information. I would definitely book this cabin again!

Girls weekend at Lake Lovers Overlook

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this lovely home one of the first weekends in December with five of my girlfriends for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival, the home was cleaned spotless and warm and inviting. It was much nicer than the pictures suggest. We enjoyed our weekend in front of the gas fire place playing card games and watching movies. The master king bed was unbelievably comfortable. Each of the bathrooms were stocked with extra toilet paper, the kitchen had paper towels and dish soap, which was a nice touch. We were able to connect our firestick to the flat screen to watch movies. The wifi connection was strong. Kitchen accessories were provide but minimal. If you plan to do a lot of cooking such as we did, I would recommend bringing tubaware for leftovers. Karen was extremely nice throughout the process of renting. My only complaint would be with the booking process. I had initially intended for 8 guest(having to pay an extra fee for each person over 5 per night) She was kind enough to adjust my balance that was to be paid a month in advance. I had to mail in a check. I had a friend mail a check so it would be sent that day. She included my name on the check along with a detailed letter explaining who and when the reservation as for. I had to contact Karen four different times inquiring if she had received the check. Two days before our trip, I had to inquire for the last time. She told me she had not received the check. My friend had to go through her online banking and find that the check had been cashed three weeks prior. Apparently, it had been marked for someone elses reservation. I understand mistakes happen, but it took me inquiring multiple times to get it settled, and two days before my trip is not when I wanted to be dealing with it. My only other dislike would be finding out upon arrival that we had to take our own garbage to the dump or be charged an extra fee, which isnt a problem but would have been nice to know that ahead of time. Overall we were very satisfied and would book again!

Owner's Response: We are so glad you had a great time at Lake Lovers Overlook. I do ask for checks but you can also pay by credit cards. Its your choice. I have mail placed on hold when I am out of town. Stated on the directions/instructions prior to arrivals, we ask for a call/contact if there is any issues or questions during the stay. If we don't hear anything then I assume all is great. Taking trash to the land fill with large groups who stay over 3 nights is only a request. I supply bags and we would of been happy to make other arrangements if we are contacted. Multiple bags left outside for days in the mountains can attract animals. This helps keep the base rates down and your group received a discount. I am happy to add to the supplies in the kitchen for large groups. Thanks for your feedback, it helps improve the rental! Hope to hear from you again at any of the properties we rent. Thanks again.

This was an AMAZING home, with an AMAZING view

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't believe the view when we walked in and the house was so nice and clean! Too bad we could only stay 3 nights! The pictures didn't do this place justice! It's a must see and a must stay! Wasn't a lot to do in the area but if you are in for a snuggle up cabin then this is your place. The two neighbor cabins were abandoned and ran down but this place was truly amazing, secluded and restful!! We brought our dog and he enjoyed the nice balcony as did we! We didn't use the hot tub but it looked nice, the fireplace was used daily and was great for roasting marshmallows. Will definitely think of bringing the family members next time since there was plenty of space for larger groups. Karen, was nice and made sure we had everything we needed. You must stay here!!!!!!
