Overview

Chastleton House Rental Photos and Description

A charming, self-catering Cotswolds cottage, sleeps 8, no kids under 5, no pets

Best described as a typical 'chocolate box' picture of an English country cottage, this stunning 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, thatched Cotswold's cottage, accommodates 8 people. The original building dates back to the 1650’s and has been sensitively added on to over the years, creating all the benefits of a spacious contemporary home but with many original features. There are two twin bedrooms, one bedroom with a queen size bed and one bedroom with a super king size bed. There are three spectacular bathrooms, two en suite, one family bathroom.

If you are looking for that perfect self-catering holiday in the Cotswolds, you couldn't have chosen a better property. Fox End really is the ultimate quality vacation rental. Whether you are looking for a venue for a family reunion, a luxury base from which to explore this most beautiful part of England, or need a sanctuary to escape your busy daily life and immerse yourself in rural splendour, this house is the one for you.

Fly Fishing: There are ample opportunities for Fly Fishing for trout and grayling in The Cotswolds. From charming still water to elegant chalk streams it's all here. Visit the Orvis store in Burford for up to the minute info on where to fish, what flies to use and how to get permits. There is a great Put 'n' Take lake only 5 minutes drive from the cottage which is in a gorgeous setting and has abundant rainbow and brown trout on two small waters. You can buy a half day or day ticket on site (please, do not hesitate to contact owner for further information or link of the website).

Horse Riding: There is a wonderful riding school 300 yd from the cottage. It is excellent for both beginners and small children as well as the more experienced rider who may wish to canter out into the Cotswold countryside and see the local rural splendour first hand. Do please contact us for more details at the time of booking.

What to do in the Cotswolds: We have many years experience of all the Cotswolds has to offer. That quaint pub with excellent ales and home cooked food, the dates of the best local markets, the whereabouts of the best butcher, ideas for young children, where you can get the best spa treatment (yes, spa treatment!) we can help you. Please ask for our 'What To Do In The Cotswolds' info sheet and we will arm you with everything you could possibly need for a successful stay at Fox End and The Cotswolds.

Most Beautiful Cottage in a Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

If you have the opportunity to rent this Cottage, do so! You will not be even close to disappointed. The owners have completely modernized the interior, while keeping the charm and feel of a country cottage. The furnishings and elegant and reflect a refined and thoughtful design talent. You will find everything you need in the kitchen and throughout the home. There is an owners Guide that has a wonderful selection of things to do/ local restaurants/stores etc. that we found immensely helpful. The Cottage is a perfect and peaceful base from which to explore everything in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. It is a rare gem and was the highlight of our trip in England.

Immaculate english cottage feels like home

  • 5 of 5

For the 7th time returning with our family to our most favorite hideaway in the cotswolds. Every time a joy to be there again in the stylish super comfortable place that feels like home. Fully equipped kitchen, well maintained gardens, soft and high quality linens and big and soft beds. Direct and personal service from the owner. Very quiet place with just cow and sheep as your neighbors. We will definitely be back again!

This cottage was beyond perfection, it would have to be the best holiday rental we have ever stayed at.

The cottage was so lovely, even better than the photos. It was beautifully clean and so well maintained.

I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone wanting a perfect holiday in the Cotswolds.

I can't say enough good things about it.

Thank you so much!!!

The perfect cottage in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

This is a high quality property beautifully appointed with contemporary luxuries but still full of old world charm. A great central location in a quiet hamlet. The nearby Chastleton House is well worth a visit - very quirky. Loved every minute of our stay here with our family. Highly recommended. Daily got to Stratford, Oxford, Warwich, even Stonehenge!

Country cottage is an understated term.

  • 5 of 5

This was the most enjoyable visit to a Home Away house we have ever experienced. From the moment we entered the front door we were awed by the beautiful setting. It is a spacious home from the large and accommodating kitchen to the luxurious linens in the bedrooms,to the spacious laundry room. It was filled with interesting books, maps and information on the various places to visit, and suggestions on dining experiences. The peaceful setting and lovely gardens where one could sit on the patio to have a glass of wine or read a book added to the superb setting. We were delighted to watch the cows parade down the country lane from field to dairy. A real sense of country living. The owner was a pleasure to work with. In summary, a fantastic place to stay and we hope to someday return.

A separate playroom full of toys for the children also runs off the hall as does a separate utility room with a washing machine and a downstairs loo. A fully equipped kitchen with all modern appliances has beautiful views over the fields. It has a farmhouse table and seating for up to six and makes a great room for family dining if little ones are around. Off the end of the hallway is the dining room, again with oak and elm beamed ceilings. A stunning 18th century refectory table and ladder back chairs, seats 8. The French doors open onto the patio area, with BBQ, and the garden. The cottage has two gardens; one surrounding the house, which comprises a small knot garden, a formal lawn area with a swing and some beautiful planting around the ancient wishing well, the other garden is an orchard with a giant trampoline.
