Clean comfortable and everything I had expected of a Tuscan holiday!

  • 5 of 5

The owner Francesca was gracious and helpful. The home was lovely, gardens immaculate and the perfect spot for enjoying our evenings in Tuscany. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Lovely property but kitchen equipment is basic

  • 4 of 5

Great pool, air conditioned bedrooms are great in the heat. 2nd twin bedroom a bit small. Main bedroom lacks a wardrobe or hanging space for clothes.

Small kitchen with necessary facilities but basic. Needs more cups and sharp knives.

TV is terrestrial Italian only. Satellite box is too old for current satellite TV.

We loved Porcilaia

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Porcilaia! The property was spacious and clean, the staff was attentive, and the outdoor spaces were very conducive to relaxation. One improvement would be an orientation in English to the use of the kitchen appliances and washing machine, and an orientation to the immediate region, including tips on parking when visiting Siena.

This was our first trip to Italy, and since we did not speak Italian we were a bit disoriented for a day or so.

We would highly recommend this property for a wonderful stay in hill town Italy!

A little piece of heaven!

  • 4 of 5

Porcilaia was all we expected it to be. We were 2 couples and the 2 bedrooms/2 baths with

the kitchen were just right. The weather was a little cooler than expected and unfortunately we could not make use of the patio for morning coffee. But the view and countryside were just spectacular!

Francesca was there to meet us when we arrived and was very helpful with a

restaurant recommendation and food shopping. A few days later another group came to stay at the larger house and we were able to meet them. It turned out that we met them a few times as we did our day trips and it was so fun to just run into them.

Siena was just a short 15 minute drive as was the train station which we used to go to Florence. We did have a car the time we were there and also went to Montipulciano for

a wonderful day trip.

We loved our time here and would not hesitate to come again if we were fortunate to

go to Italy again.

Vacation in Siena

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful property with all the comforts of home. It was roomy and comfortable, very clean and had everything we needed. It was conveniently located near major freeways, within 15 minutes of the historic area of Siena and about an hour 15 minutes from Florence. We traveled all over Tuscany and Umbria with this home as our base and it was convenient for all of our travels.

La Chiusa is a small hamlet just outside Siena, the best preserved medieval town of Italy, whose community retains its ancient traditions. A perfect location to relax and visit art cities like Florence, San Gimignano, Pienza, Volterra, the leaning tower of Pisa. Tuscany is the land of Art and Culture, home to Leonardo, Galileo, Michelangelo whose homes, museums and masterpieces you'll be able to admire on a day trip from Borgo Vitignano. Il Palio di Siena, a thrilling traditional horserace, takes place in the centre of Siena every year in July and August. Tuscany is also famous for its red wines. On a day trip you can visit Chianti, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Scansano and why not Bolgheri. For those of you who love unspoilt nature, Maremma is but an hour away. The gorgeous Mediterranean coast is only 70 km away, with Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala, Follonica, La Carbonaia. Perugia in Umbria is only 110 kms away.
