Legnaia, whose name means woodshed, was converted from the original woodshed of Borgo la Chiusa, part of an ancient convent.
The Siena country home rental sits on the right corner of the property and is accessed from a welcoming terraced patio at the front of the house.
The large arched glass doors lead you right into the large open living area, with lounge, fireplace and fully equipped kitchen.
The back of the villa rental hosts a double and a twin bedroom, each with their own bathroom.
Downstairs are two more doubled bedrooms and one bathroom with shower, a laundry room.
The front terrace is equipped with table, chairs, loungers, BBQ and umbrellas.

Borgo la Chiusa was part of an ancient convent just outside the walls of Siena, offering guests wonderful views, peaceful environment and two deliciously restored luxury country homes with Siena terracotta floors, stone walls, beamed ceilings and very beautiful finishing touches.
The outside of each apartment offers a well kept garden, a lovely patio with table, chairs and BBQ for outside eating and relaxing.
Borgo la Chiusa Siena luxury country homes are the ideal bases for taking both short and long breaks. Their key position, only 5 minutes drive from Siena, allow guests to enjoy all the fascinating city has to offer without giving up on peace and privacy only a country home can guarantee.
A break at Borgo la Chiusa is ideal for taking a language course, enjoying the Palio of Siena, taking wine tasting tours, all of which we can organize for you.
We would like to thank you so much for providing the wonderful itineraries in your Borgo la Chiusa booklet. We followed 3 of the "trips" and had a truly fabulous time both driving thru the Tuscan hills and visiting uncrowded sites. And we didn't get lost even once!
We intended on completing the Val di Merse, Montagnola, and Chianti itineraries but we had such a great time everywhere that we only finished parts of Val di Merse and Montagnola and never made it to Chianti!
We spent several hours each at San Galgano, Radiacondoli, Casole d'Elsa, and Pieva Di Penina because they were so beautiful and interesting. There were other places we planned to visit, but we ran out of time, so it just means we have more to come back for!
By the way, the gardens at Centinale were closed for renovation--something else to see when we return. We are definitely slow travelers to Italy and share your love of the beautiful sights and peaceful tranquility Tuscany has to offer.
We especially appreciated Casole d'Elsa because they made it so easy to navigate the scooter up to the hilltop by providing elevators. That was an unexpected treat!
We also again want to thank you and Francesca for helping us navigate our way to Siena--we followed the instructions and for the first time we didn't get lost! We even went back there one more time before leaving Italy!
We would be remiss also If we didn't offer thanks for the wonderful restaurant suggestions. We ate in a bunch of them and found all to be wonderful!
Our two weeks in Tuscany were everything we hoped for and more, and we will be sure to recommend you to any of our friends who are thinking of a Tuscan holiday. Thank you so much.
Arriverderci and Mille Grazie!
We do recommend this lovely country house to all people looking for tuscany landscapes.
The descripcion given to us was accurate we were even surprised becaused in the reallity the proparty looks even better. Well kept garden, comfortable rooms - everything was clean and tastefull. Lot's of thanks to the owners !!
We will come here once again for sure!
We stayed in the Legnaia property for five nights in May and it was truly a wonderful experience. The property is absolutely beautiful and immaculately maintained. The outdoor space is great for al fresco dining as well as lounging and enjoying the pool and views. The inside of the property was also very nice with two bedrooms and baths upstairs and two bedrooms and one bath downstairs. The kitchen was fully equipped and large for European standards. Everything in the kitchen was also extremely clean and well organized. The property manager Simone was great to work with and very helpful in providing suggestions and tips. A special thank you to Francesca, the property host who was absolutely amazing. She was always pleasant, always helpful, and always willing to go above and beyond. We even asked her to cook for us one night and she produced a fantastic four course meal with wine included. I have stayed in many vacation rentals and I have to say that Francesca is by far the best host I have ever worked with.
The location of the property is great with a supermarket nearby (10min drive), Florence about 75min drive, and easy access to the main highways to tour Tuscany. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to have the ultimate Tuscan vacation.
We were so blessed to have found this place. We are 3 couples celebrating milestone anniversaries and the first time staying in this part of Tuscany. The home features comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, and great living space. Given that it was May, we did not use the patio as much as we wanted, but it was fabulous. The hospitality went above and beyond! My husband needed a dentist, and they were able to secure an emergency appointment with a dentist. The dinner and tour recommendations were outstanding. When reviewing our two week trip to Italia, this place stands out. Thank you Francesca and Simone for your hospitality.
After travelling for 3 weeks, what a pleasant way to relax and enjoy Tuscany by staying here....the accommodations are truly amazing....we were a large group of 7 people and it easily met our needs...and what can you say about the owners, they were amazing as well....if we were running low on firewood, they were there immediately re-supplying it....if we had any questions, they responded immediately....if you like hiking or going for walks...this place is for you....if you like to sit and relax, this place is for you....though we were in a rural area, we had all the emmenidies nearby....the butcher store is within walking distance....and yes, do yourself a flavour buy the Florintine bisque, bring it home, and BBQ it on the wood burning BBQ...truly amazing experience...if you don't want to do it yourself, there are a few nearby restaurants that do a great job of it....we highly highly recommend staying here....you will not be disappointed....
The property was very nice, clean and well located. I would recommend it to friends.
La Chiusa is a small hamlet just outside Siena, the best preserved medieval town of Italy, whose community retains its ancient traditions. A perfect location to relax and visit art cities like Florence, San Gimignano, Pienza, Volterra, the leaning tower of Pisa. Tuscany is the land of Art and Culture, home to Leonardo, Galileo, Michelangelo whose homes, museums and masterpieces you'll be able to admire on a day trip from Borgo Vitignano. Il Palio di Siena, a thrilling traditional horserace, takes place in the centre of Siena every year in July and August. Tuscany is also famous for its red wines. On a day trip you can visit Chianti, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Scansano and why not Bolgheri. For those of you who love unspoilt nature, Maremma is but an hour away. The gorgeous Mediterranean coast is only 70 km away, with Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala, Follonica, La Carbonaia. Perugia in Umbria is only 110 kms away.
