Overview

Northern Michigan House Rental Photos and Description

House, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 12-14)

Remember your childhood memories of wonderful Northern Michigan summers, or create new ones with your family. Our 5 bedroom, 2 bath home is full of historic charm. Newly renovated home, built in 1898 with original wood flooring and claw foot tub are sure to make your stay right in the village of Lake Leelanau one you will always remember.

Our home is situated on a corner lot in Lake Leelanau which is a stones throw away from the brand new Boathouse Winery (among many other wineries in Leelanau County) Pedaling Beans Coffee Shop, Dick's Pour House (reasonably priced tavern) boat launch, bait shop, boat rentals, grocery store and shopping.

It is also only 5 miles away from the town of Leland, a charming small town with a spirit you have to experience to believe. In Leland you will find the infamous Fishtown, which boasts a candy store, Cheese Shop sandwiches (which are to die for) a plethora of shopping, fishing charters, boat trips to the Manitou Islands, restaurant and even a small park for the kids. Up in the town of Leland you will find cute boutiques, grocery, family owned bar and breakfast hang out, tennis and basketball courts.

We are also about 5 miles away from another quaint town, Suttons Bay. Suttons Bay offers a movie theater, ice cream shop, several restaurants and bars, and more unique shopping.

The Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore was voted 'The Most Beautiful Place In America' by Good Morning America and is a lovely, scenic 35 mile drive form our home.

The home is fully furnished. We supply all linens, pillows, towels, paper towels, and toilet paper. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, dishes and all pots and pans. We also provide a washer and dryer.

The main level features a large open kitchen with an over-sized table for big family meals. We have a full bath and two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and the other with two double beds. Also on the main level is a large living room with a pull out sofa, a small area with toys and books for the kids and a large screened in front porch.

On the second level we have three more bedrooms, one with a king sized bed, one with a queen sized bed and the third has two twins. This floor also has a full bathroom.

This home is ideally suited for a large family or several families together looking to build life long memories.

Our Daughter's Wedding

  • 5 of 5

Wow, what a great place for a large family. Our daughter was getting married and we thought how are we gong to get everyone in the same house. This place is perfect large kitchen, large bedrooms, living room and a great front porch. There is even a little room with children's toys. The house was very clean. The yard is huge and Annie just put in a beautiful fire pit which was used everyday, which we had lots of great conversations.

The location is amazing across the street is a very nice local bar, a grocery store, restaurant and a local beauty shop which were amazing as we needed. You are so close to downtown Sutton Bay one way and then the other way is Leland can't get any better

There is a boat rental place right behind the house, which we were able to rent a pontoon for the day, what a beautiful ride.

Annie was so great to work with, we could call at anytime and she always responded in a timely matter

Annie Thank You for letting us rent this great place for a great event with lots of Happy Memories.

This is our second year renting this house for our week long wine tour! House more than fits our needs, but what really stands out is Annie's attention to detail and quality of customer service. Any small problem or question you need is handled with a degree of professionalism not found easily these days!! We are looking forward to next years trip already!!! See you next year Annie!! Thanks Rock

A few extra details....

  • 4 of 5

We rented this house because of it's location and size. In terms of the size, it was good. We were two families traveling with small children, so there were plenty of bedrooms to accommodate our group. However, in terms of the location, we were a bit disappointed that it was right on the main drag (road 204.) The traffic was a bit noisy but the real problem was Dick's Pour House - the bar across the street. You can hear the music clearly and if it's a rowdy crowd, that might be a problem too. We were [un]lucky enough to hear a bar fight while we were there. I realize that this could be specific to our experience, and may be a rare event, nonetheless, it's worth mentioning.

The rest of the house was good in terms of amenities. The bathrooms had enough towels and the space was clean. The living room is a bit small if there is a large group, but there is a enclosed front porch area that was good for playing games, etc. and the kitchen table was good space as well.

It would have been nice if there was a fire pit in the yard, as it is big and spacious, but the yard is also on a busy corner so there is really no privacy at all.

All in all it was a decent place with a decent price and lots of flexibility in terms of renting it (most places require you to rent a week at a time in the summer) but it was just OK in terms of anything that would make it a memorable experience.

Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My cousins and I stayed here for a girls weekend and we had a blast! Such a spacious house to roam and entertain. With 5 spacious bedrooms it was nice to be able to hide away and relax when you wanted to. The kitchen was fully stocked (with pots/pans and cooking utensils) so it was nice not to have to bring that stuff. The yard was huge and we were able to play games and hang out. Within walking distance to wineries and distilleries, and Dick's Pour House was right across the street, definitely a must visit! Lots of fun things to do in the area and will plan on making a return visit.

Awesome Leelanau Vaca Spot!!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks for sharing your fantastic home with us Annie! Plenty of room for multiple families/couples. Big Bedrooms and Kitchen! Great Yard for hanging out with friends/family/pets. The location was incredible. Walking distance to all the essentials: Dick's Pour House, NJ's Grocery, Wineries/Distilleries, Boat Launch, Etc. (Didn't bring the boat this trip but for sure next time). Central to anywhere you want to go in the Peninsula. Plenty of Parking. Will definitely recommend to others!

Warm Regards,

> Dan & Charlotte
