Situated in the middle of this medieval market town the house is a'maison de vigneron' with all the living accommodation on the first floor. It is very bright and airy with patio doors leading out to both terraces which have spectacular views over the rooftops to the 12th century Cathedral. Both terraces are suitable for out door eating and the back terrace is completely private with steps down to the little secluded garden, ideal for sunbathing. The 2 double bedrooms are very comfortable and the bed settee in the salon provides extra sleeping for 2. The kitchen has just been renovated and is fully equipped and is easily workable Capestang has a good selection of restaurants for the days you don't want to cook, and a bustling market twice a week where you will find all the fresh fruit and vegetables this area is renowned for. The best bakery is 1 minute from the door and a good Supermarket has everything else you could need. The house is centrally heated and also has an open fire.

Well equipped town house near canal & town centre.
The property was better than expected. Very well appointed, well equipped and comfortable home in busy small town within easy walking distance of the canal and the shops. The house was very clean and well maintained..kitchen had just been refurbished.The terrace overlooking the rooftops and the church was very private and perfect for alfreso meals. Also a small garden for sitting in the shade on hot days. All village facilities were within easy reach..tourist office, markets, restaurants and shops. The canal was only a few minutes walk away and was great for cycling/walking/or just watching the boats. Capestang is well placed for visiting all other areas either coast or hills. You will be spoilt for choice for wine!!! Would recommend the Beauvignac wine coop in Pomerols. The Picpoul de Pinet is especially nice with fish/seafood. Also the wines of the Minervois were rather good too!! Owners are friendly and very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

The perfect place in Capestang.
I had already been to Capestang, so knew in what, and where, I wanted to stay. This little house was perfect for me. Close to the canal, and equally close to the square and the market. The house was ideal with everything to hand. I loved the two little balconies - what a bonus. Thank you so much for letting it to me!
Very comfortable, convenient for touring the area.
A very comfortable apartment in a quiet part of Capestang. Fully equipped with everything you could need, the washing machine was much appreciated. A nice sunny balcony at the front overlooking the street, and a private sunbathing area at the back.
We had an HDMI to micro HDMI lead to attach our Kindle tablet to the TV and watch UK programmes in the evenings through Filmon, via the apartment wifi. If you unplug the DVD from the back of the TV you can use this socket for your tablet lead. There are also several DVDs to watch and books to read.
A few of the restaurants in Capestang were closed at the beginning of April, but we can recommend La Galiniere, the pizzas and pastas at Le Provence at the far end of the town square, and the restaurant on the other side of the canal, a few minutes walk from the apartment.
Capestang is in a good position for travelling around. We visited the old medieval town of Minerve, the castle at Carcassonne, walked the 5 km gorge d'Heric, spent an hour or two scrambling around ruined Peyrepertuse Castle, high up on a very exposed mountain ridge, visited the African reserve at Sigean, wandered around the lovely old town of Saint Guilhem le Desert and had a look at the impressive nearby gorge de l'Herault, had a enjoyable walk at Termes in the south of Languedoc and a much harder one at Cirque de Moureze with marvellous views of Lake Salagou from the top.
We can highly recommend this apartment if you're holidaying in the area.
Sunny, spacious, perfect location
I enjoyed a 5-week stay at this property this fall. The house was immaculate, more spacious than I expected; the kitchen was well-equipped, and the two terraces offered great outdoor space. I loved being a 3-minute walk to the boulangerie in the town square, and the twice-weekly market there offered nearly everything I needed. A nearby épicerie was handy for the odd items not warranting a trip to the hypermarché on the edge of town. In 6-7 minutes I could walk to the Canal du Midi and stroll along the footpath. Capestang was a perfect base for day trips anywhere around the Languedoc-Roussillon, with countless wineries offering tastings, the Cathar Trail, beautiful villages to explore, the excavation at L'Oppidum d'Ensérune, lovely coastal towns, and,further afield, the spectacular Haut Languedoc and Tarn region. Liz and René are most gracious hosts, committed to their guests' every comfort. I highly recommend this property.
Very comfortable house in central village location
Extremely comfortable accommodation and for us 'a home from home'. Liz and Ronnie were very welcoming and helpful. The first floor apartment has a charming balcony to the front and a completely private terrace to the rear equipped with BBQ and great views over the rooftops to the church. Spotlessly clean with fresh bedlinen and towels. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, modern fan oven, microwave etc etc and every utensil/dish/pan including teapot you could possibly require. Our family of 5 including 3 teenage girls settled in immediately enjoying the convenience of the DVD player and wifi internet access and loved being in the centre of the village. Crepes, twice weekly market and bread shops just 2 minutes walk away. We`ve stayed in Capestang before and know the area quite well and love it. Just 40 minutes to the beach or 40 minutes to the hills and rivers. Montpellier is just an hour away so combined with vineyards, ancient villages, the Canal du Midi and lots of clear blue skies this is a fantastic holiday destination made all the better with such comfortable accommodation.
Very Comfortable House in Convenient Location
This house was perfectly situated for visiting the Langeudoc region. It's location was ideal with all local amenities, restaurants, boulangerie, supermarket etc very close at hand and within walking distance. Extremely comfortable, spacious and very well decorated with quality furnishings and every conceivable requirement for a good stay. The bathroom was nothing short of magnificant! We needed safe parking and were able to park right outside the house in a private space.The owner was helpful at all times and we would happily recommend it to friends.
Close to the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean,in the heart of the Minervois wine region,and only 1 hour from the Pyrenees and the Spanish border. Medieval Carcassonne, Roman Narbonne and all the Cathar Castles are within easy reach.The national park of the Haute Languedoc offers many opportunities for exploration of its gorges, caves,and mountains
Capestang itself is well served with restaurants, a shopping centre and a busy market twice a week. The best boulangerie in the region is at your doorstep. For big shopping expeditions both Beziers and Narbonne, only 15mins away have everything you could need. Along the coast are all the amusement parks, discotheques and everything associated with seaside resorts. The towpaths of the Canal du Midi are ideal for walking and cycling and you can hire boats for the day. The little fishing villages dotted along the coast and around the Etang de Thau are wonderful for seafood restaurants. With the wonderful sunny climate, its a great place.
