I have been renting this condo for years (which can be verified at the bottom of this page). As the overwhelming majority of my reviews reveal, I do my best to help my guests' make their experience be a positive one.

In order to ensure the protection of both parties, I do not accept any reservations that are requested within 14 days of arrival. The credit card used to book a reservation will be verified with matching government photo i.d. upon arrival at my property.

This well appointed condo is:

- 2 large bedrooms with a queen-size bed in one and 2 sets of single bunks in the other

- the living room has a KING bed plus, if needed, a queen sofa bed. There is also a white leather loveseat and two white leather Corbusier chairs

- privacy between bedrooms

- all bedding included

- 2 bathrooms; main bathroom has heated Carrera marble floors and Carrera marble bathtub surround; second bathroom is a powder room with exposed brick wall, metal corrugated walls and a 10 foot high ceiling

Excellent value for the rental.

Apartment was clean and fully equipped and very convenient for walking to most of the points of interest i.e. Parliament Buildings, museums, malls etc. A great place to meet with friends and enjoy Ottawa area sites.

Great location

Very cute place, nicely decorated! When we arrived the owners were doing work in the entry way & using our unit to store items. The tone of one of the owners advising us the place WAS clean, didn't exactly start our stay off great! (she's the one you deal with for bookings) Unfortunately they obviously had some problems with their cleaning staff which hopefully has been dealt with. I asked for a vacuum as the floor had not been cleaned well at all, they responded immediately and had their cleaning staff come in and sweep & mop the floor. Table was dusty, we wiped it ourselves; baseboard by one of the headboards in the bedroom was very dirty, we just left it. Washing machine was full of towels & sheets, dryer had mop heads & towels. Only 1 pod for dishwasher, which they provided us more.

We also had a major ant problem! They did know about this prior to us getting there, however, failed to mention anything to us! When I questioned what looked like piles of dirt in a couple of the corners, and along some of the baseboards, then they said they were following what the exterminators told them to do for the ants.

Third day of our stay, there were tons of ants! When I contacted the owner, they responded immediately with genuine concern. The hubby came over with traps and sprays. The owner apologized profusely. After checking out, the owner assured me they would do everything they could to figure out the ant problem and she'd definitely be talking to her cleaners. Hopefully for their sake both problems get looked after, would be a shame to have a beautiful historic building like this not get utilized to it's full potential.

Owner's Response: It really surprised us that Glenda gave only a 3 out of 5 star review. Mine, and my husband's, experience with her group was quite different than what Glenda described. The reason the condo was not ready upon Glenda's arrival is that they showed up an hour earlier than we were expecting them. Our cleaner was far from finished and we had a tiler doing marble detailing in the lobby and had the condo door propped open. His few hand tools were in the doorway. His cutting table was in the basement to avoid any messes. We got the cleaner to do the best she could with a group of guests and their luggage mingling about. Glenda was the only one of their group that seemed to be put out that we were still cleaning the condo. Miffed is a good word to describe Glenda's reaction. I tried my best to assure Glenda that the majority of the condo had already been deep cleaned but that didn't seem to reassure her. There were no Ants!!! Glenda had numerous requests for us during her few days at our home in Ottawa and we were happy to comply. As her review confirms, we were accommodating and quick at getting any issues she had resolved quickly and, we thought, to her utmost satisfaction. I am sad that Glenda did not feel we had done enough or that we were not warm in our responses. I assure you we are not rude to our guests. We have been hosts on this website since 2009 and have an excellent reputation with thousands of reviews online to prove it. This website can confirm we have been members in good standing for 8 years. We did have a slight issue with tiny ants seeking refuge from the cold after an unusual winter heat wave. It went from cold to hot to cold again with a few days, which drew them inside. The unwelcome visitors were eliminated within 2 hours of being spotted. The rest of Glenda's party were quite amazed at how quickly we were able to respond and fix the issue on a Saturday night at 10 pm. Overall, Glenda and her guests did enjoy their stay but I feel that maybe Glenda, who booked the accommodations, may have been super sensitive to wanting everything to be perfect in order to make her own guests happy. But they told us they were thrilled whenever we had the pleasure to speak with them during their stay. On the Saturday night, they quickly realized we actually had mutual friends from their own small town in Saskatchewan, What a small world! We do hope Glenda will look upon her stay more fondly. She is welcome to return!

GREAT location and accommodation!

Our family of five spent four nights and it was a welcome change from "hoteling it". Nice to have some space and privacy. A beautiful heritage building. Hostess very accessible, would recommend to others!

Attractive decor and good location

Description in ad is right on. Parking convenient, with easy in and out. The terrace is well equipped. Great ethnic restaurants in easy walking distance. The only downside was that our family, who meet once a year, like to gather and talk in the evening. The small living/dining area made this difficult. The dining table was great with room for 8. The living area has a love seat and two occasional chairs. We had booked for 6 adults and 1 child. One person was unable to attend leaving 5 adults. We all agreed that it would have been very difficult for 6 adults to relax comfortably in the evening. If you are a family with more children and fewer adults, the small living area would not be a problem as the children could play in their bedroom.

Great apartment, Close to all amenities

A small well-kept apartment in a renovated Old Victorian home very close to all amenities at a reasonable walking distance to the ByWard market and Parliament Hill. This apartment is immaculate. The front two bedrooms are of generous size and fully equipped, bonus air-conditioners in every room! Bedding and towels were lovely. The bathroom and powder room are perfect. The common spaces (kitchen and LR) were a tight-squeeze for our group of 8, but we made it work. Unfortunately, since we cooked all our meals, we did set off the smoke detector, twice (6:30am the first time - sorry to other tenants) as there is no rangehood fan over the stove.The on-site laundry was a very nice touch indeed. No complaints from us. A great stay. All the little details have been well thought out and if you aren't sure what the house rules are, there are little reminder notes unobtrusively placed throughout the house (garbage/recycling, check out tasks, etc). Communication with the owner was beyond exemplary and thorough. Very appreciated. Thank you.

Disappointing stay.

Stayed at this condo in July for two nights.

It was not what I expected. On a very noisy street but had convenient bus service at the door.

I expected a well stocked kitchen with simple supplies of sugar, dishwasher pucks, gmarbage bags. However, there is a convenient store across the street.

Owner's Response: This condo is filled with over 15 different spices, salt, pepper, olive oil, cooking oil, balsamic vinegar, white vinegar, coffee, tea, sugar, sweetener, flour, baking soda, rice, pasta, garbage bags, tea towels, dish cloths, dishwashing soap, dishwasher pucks, and is stacked with so many pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cutlery, cutting boards, serving bowls, roasting pans, the bathroom I offer shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap, Q-tips, towels, hand towels, face the laundry area I provide laundry pucks, stain remover and dryer sheets. Why this guest felt the apartment was not well stocked is a mystery! The street is busy but as past guests have pointed out, once in the apartment the noise is faint. The advantage to the location is it is within walking distance to all amenities and most of the tourist areas. My previous guests have commented often that this is the best stocked apartment they have ever rented.
