Cool and elegant
We were warmly welcomed by Madame Demacon who showed us all the features of the apartment which was exactly as we expected from the description and photographs. We are frequent visitors to Nice and have not found a nicer situation than this one with so much to see in the vicinity. The comfortable bed, and effective air conditioning added to our well being and the stairs kept us fit! We hope to return.
Thank you so much!
It was a pleasure to receive you.
A la prochaine!
Comfortable, stylish apartment in Nice
We loved our time in Madame Demacon’s apartment! It was bright, clean and very stylish with all of the modern conveniences we look for when we rent an apartment in Europe. The location was very nice - within walking distance of the best of Nice, and the view was wonderful. We would definitely stay there again.
Madame Demacon was helpful throughout our rental process and went out of her way to make the apartment available to us upon our arrival in Nice, even though the prior renters had checked out the same day. She arranged transportation for us and was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish - and communication in English was a breeze.
In addition to being bright and lovely (really!) the apartment was very secure and good parking was just across the street. The kitchen and bathroom were modern and there was a washing machine, which was very helpful (although no dryer). The bed was comfortable and nice pillows were provided. Even though the apartment is in a high-traffic area, the windows are soundproof - it was amazing how much noise they shut out!
There are a couple of things to be aware of. The apartment is on an upper floor (3rd or 4th depending on where you enter the building) and there is no lift - so If you have mobility issues you should take note, but if you need to walk off the wine and pasta you’ll be happy. Also, the apartment is on the port, so there are boats and cruise ships coming and going on a regular basis. We found this very pleasant but it may not be for everyone.
If I had one suggestion for the apartment it would be to lose the urns on the balcony. They have large and lovely cactus plants but take up too much room on the narrow balcony (where we had our coffee in the morning and wine in the evening before dinner). A less important suggestion would be a coffee maker for American guests - the coffee press was nice but a Nepresso would have been awesome.
We visit Nice every year or so and have stayed several places. This apartment will be our first choice from now on! Thanks, Pam, for making it a great visit - we look forward to seeing you next time!
Tasteful 2 room appartment in great location overlooking the old port
This is a very good well decorated apartment overlooking the boats and ships in the old port, and the apartment size and facilities are ideal for 2 people. 1 double (King) bedroom, sitting room, small kitchen, shower/bathroom, WC, small balcony, shutters. Aircon. There are several flights of stairs to climb, and there is no lift. Everything worked fine and easy to get to/from airport using Taxis / Uber. Local restaurants and shops are good. Only real issue is the street/traffic noise. Double glazing makes the noise insignificant, but as soon as the windows are opened it hits you. All in all we had a great time - no problems to report.
My wife and I have stayed in the lovely apartment two times. We come to Nice every December and have stayed in several different apartments over the years. This is the absolute best. Well appointed, breathtaking views of the sea and the Port, great location near the market and the old town, yet very peaceful. You can open the doors facing the sea and have a nap in a comfortable chair facing the sun and the sea. We love walking along the sea on the way to the market. The manager is very pleasant and attentive.
Thank you for your review, it's always a pleasure to receive you both.
See you December 2017!
Very best regards
Amazing apartment in a stunning location
We booked this property based on the photos, the previous reviews and the fact we wanted somewhere special to celebrate our silver wedding....and we were not disappointed. Luxurious apartment with the most fantastic view of the Old Port of Nice you could wish for. A highlight was watching the many different vessels dock at the harbour including the ferry from Sardinia, a boat collecting or delivering concrete and a boat being loaded with luxury yachts! The location of the flat was perfect for a couple like us who likes to take a stroll every day with something different to see in every direction. The bus to Monaco is a short walk away and only 1 Euro 50 to get there!! We have raved about our week to anyone who will listen and want to thank Pam for her friendly welcome, recommendations and advice. If we can afford it, we'll be back! Jackie and Adrian, Scotland
Thank you so much ...and you guys were perfect guests ..

Amazing Flat, amazing location!
This flat is absolutely gorgeous and I haven't even started talking about the views! My wife and I spent 8 nights here on our honeymoon and enjoyed every minute of our stay! We found the flat to be very clean and well appointed with all the modern conveniences we've all grown accustomed to. The location is great and we loved being along the port watching the yachts come in and out of the harbor. This was our first time in Nice so I can't really compare this location to others, but we found it very convenient and only a short walk to old town, the beach and other major attractions. Actually we found that we preferred the restaurants around the port over those located in Old Town (Les Pecheurs was amazing).
This flat is located across the street from the ferry launch and we loved the ability to take boats to Monaco, Cannes, St. Tropez, etc. Much better than taking the train, though more expensive...but hey we were on our honeymoon. As to the train, this flat is located quite a ways from the train station (which is a good thing since my experience has always been that areas around a train station are typically a little seedy and this area seemed very safe). To get to the train you had to walk about 10 minutes to then take the tram about 5 stops. Not terrible, but if you plan to travel the area a lot by train and use the flat as a home base it could be an inconvenience.
I would have to say the only negative with the flat was the stairs, which can be quite tough after a long day of sight seeing and may be difficult if you have mobility issues. We didn't have any issues with them ourselves and felt the views more than made up for the climb!
There's a great patio to have your morning coffee on, though both my wife and I wished they didn't have the planters, which we felt obstructed the view and made it somewhat crowded when sitting out there together. Again a minor complaint, when you consider how amazing this flat is.
The manager Pam is great! We had some major delays with our train and arrived over three hours past our scheduled check-in time. I contacted Pam and she said it wasn't a problem at all and met us pretty late and the flat, but still took the time to go over all the appliances and other items in the flat.
To close, I would recommend this flat to anyone and everyone, and can guarantee you that my next time in Nice its where I'll be staying!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review.
May I say you guys were perfect clients too!
congratulations on your marriage.
I look forward to receiving you next time....
For an anniversary perhaps?
Au revoir et bientot!
