We booked this property based on the photos, the previous reviews and the fact we wanted somewhere special to celebrate our silver wedding....and we were not disappointed. Luxurious apartment with the most fantastic view of the Old Port of Nice you could wish for. A highlight was watching the many different vessels dock at the harbour including the ferry from Sardinia, a boat collecting or delivering concrete and a boat being loaded with luxury yachts! The location of the flat was perfect for a couple like us who likes to take a stroll every day with something different to see in every direction. The bus to Monaco is a short walk away and only 1 Euro 50 to get there!! We have raved about our week to anyone who will listen and want to thank Pam for her friendly welcome, recommendations and advice. If we can afford it, we'll be back! Jackie and Adrian, Scotland
This flat is absolutely gorgeous and I haven't even started talking about the views! My wife and I spent 8 nights here on our honeymoon and enjoyed every minute of our stay! We found the flat to be very clean and well appointed with all the modern conveniences we've all grown accustomed to. The location is great and we loved being along the port watching the yachts come in and out of the harbor. This was our first time in Nice so I can't really compare this location to others, but we found it very convenient and only a short walk to old town, the beach and other major attractions. Actually we found that we preferred the restaurants around the port over those located in Old Town (Les Pecheurs was amazing).
This flat is located across the street from the ferry launch and we loved the ability to take boats to Monaco, Cannes, St. Tropez, etc. Much better than taking the train, though more expensive...but hey we were on our honeymoon. As to the train, this flat is located quite a ways from the train station (which is a good thing since my experience has always been that areas around a train station are typically a little seedy and this area seemed very safe). To get to the train you had to walk about 10 minutes to then take the tram about 5 stops. Not terrible, but if you plan to travel the area a lot by train and use the flat as a home base it could be an inconvenience.
I would have to say the only negative with the flat was the stairs, which can be quite tough after a long day of sight seeing and may be difficult if you have mobility issues. We didn't have any issues with them ourselves and felt the views more than made up for the climb!
There's a great patio to have your morning coffee on, though both my wife and I wished they didn't have the planters, which we felt obstructed the view and made it somewhat crowded when sitting out there together. Again a minor complaint, when you consider how amazing this flat is.
The manager Pam is great! We had some major delays with our train and arrived over three hours past our scheduled check-in time. I contacted Pam and she said it wasn't a problem at all and met us pretty late and the flat, but still took the time to go over all the appliances and other items in the flat.
To close, I would recommend this flat to anyone and everyone, and can guarantee you that my next time in Nice its where I'll be staying!
We highly recommend this spacious apartment for two adults. We spent 8 lovely nights here and our only regret is that we should have booked more nights! Beautifully appointed with everything you need. After a full day of hiking and sight seeing this apart
For all of you looking to enjoy a wonderful time in beautiful Nice, and if you are looking at this place, book it NOW! We stayed here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary after visiting Paris. It was a great place to relax and unwind. The place is roomy, you can really spread out. It's beautiful, decorated very well, super clean, and the location is, well I can't say anything other then, PERFECT! and I have to say that the washing machine was very handy and a pleasant surprise.
Right across from Port De Nice. You can enjoy cafe in the morning sun watching the beautiful yachts coming and going! Then you go across the street and for 34-euros each, you book a boat cruise that takes you to Monte-Carlo in the morning and brings you back by 7 in the evening. What a BEAUTIFUL cruise to spectacular Monaco!
Pam provided EVERYTHING and was wonderful to work with. It is exactly as she says! Nothing but honesty and beauty! Again, if you are looking, you need not look any further cause this is the place. You can walk anywhere. Get your groceries at Garibaldi Square super market. Walk the Promenade to Hotel Negresso or just rent a chair on the beach!
We will be back for sure, not even looking at another place!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our 9-day stay in this beautiful apartment. It was exactly as described/pictured, clean, well-maintained, etc., and the owner was pleasant and helpful. The building is conveniently located for those who plan on walking everywhere, as we did. To take a coastal cruise or to visit a nearby port, all we had to do was cross the street to get on the boat. In fact, watching (and participating in) the port activity was, for us, a great bonus of this apartment. The terrace was small and narrow, but we spent a lot of time out there day and night. The only thing lacking was terrace seating -- a small table and two chairs would have been very much appreciated. We'd definitely stay there again. In fact, we wish we were still there.
'The Portobello apartment' is situated in port of Nice which is famous for the plethora of antique shops and galleries. Only minutes walk from colourful markets, cafes and restaurants of the old town. Fascinating portside daily activities, arriving and departing yachts, boats and cruise ships ...great local restaurants and bars on the doorstep, galet beaches, private and public. The Portobello sits at the foot of the ancient chateau, that guards the port of Nice, and is walking distance from tram, train and bus routes which makes for a perfect Mediterranean holiday.
