The vacation would have been better had there been a beach within walking distance but the house was wonderful!
Bell Point was awesome! Jane was awesome! Very accommodating. Didn't even mind when the smoke alarm went off and the fire department showed up after we fried bacon :0.
The trip to Parris Island was easy and took about 25-30 minutes.
The house fit the 10 of us fantastically. The screened in porch was ideal for enjoying the outdoors and protecting us from the gnats.
We enjoyed exploring the fort and got to spend a little time on the beach. Beautiful sunset over Parris Island.
This home was exactly what we needed to attend the Marine Corps graduation of our son. We hosted 6 young adults and 6 adults very comfortably. Our son enjoyed a night playing 'ping pong' and pool with his buddies and we enjoyed the fire pit, while cleaning up debris from the hurricane in the fall. A 5 star place for sure! We didn't eat out we ate a wonderful ham dinner and were able to make excellent meals here. Thank you again. The fort and beach so close was an added bonus and history lesson. We have friends whose children are joining the Marines and we will pass this on to them as well. Thank you for the discount as well. God bless you and God bless America and all our Troops!
We enjoyed our family vacation at Bell Point. It was a nice surprise to see the Christmas decorations, since we were there to have our family Christmas get together. The little beach and Fort Fremont were fun, my three year old grandson called it the jungle beach and monster land. Everything we needed was there at the house, but we could never find the trash dump, so we left our trash which we never do. Overall, the house is as appears in the pictures, we enjoyed our stay, and probably would go again. The main reason for our stay was to visit Hunting Island to relive memories, but when we got there it was closed down. That was very disappointing. Ronna Bosse
We had so much fun at this house. It was so well stocked and very clean. Loved the kitchen and all the great appliances. The yard was perfect for corn hole and fires in pit at night. Very quite neighborhood (we were the loudest). Our grand-daughters 6,5,and 2 years old had a great time day and night at the fort across the street! The golf cart was another huge plus! We enjoyed the kayak and paddle board as well. Perfect bay for paddle boarding. The screened in porch was great for playing games and when everyone played we would move into the fabulous dining table (huge)! Easy place to cook and eat Thanksgiving dinner. The owner was so helpful with everything. Thank you Jane for opening your home to us.
The house in the pictures makes you think you staying at a nice home. Upon arrival there were roaches crawling in the hall bathroom sink. The carpets are filthy!!! The house smelled so bad we almost couldn't stay there. It smelled so musty and just had this wet old damp smell in it. The floors were filthy!!! The upstairs floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The worse part was the upstairs has no heat and my kids almost froze. Then in the day when we needed the a/c it barely blew. We stayed here for my son's Marine Graduation and had I known it was so far from Parris Island I would've looked elsewhere especially due to all the issues with the house. I didn't even bother calling the home owner because we were so busy running back and forth to the Island to see my son I didn't have time. We just dealt with the problems. Also if you stay here being an iron! There's is from 1940. It doesn't work. Oh and the tub in the hall bathroom takes 15 minutes to drain and if you need to put makeup on in there bring a light! The bathroom light is horrible!!! You can barely see! The wifi never worked one time. I had 50+ emails from work I needed to answer but wifi never worked. Finally was able to use my hotspot off my phone to get on laptop for a few minutes. Appreciate the use of a place to stay to see my son during his graduation but a big let down.
Spectacular Sunsets!! Shrimping, public boat ramp within 2 miles. Home is second row 300 feet from the beach. Beaufort Water Festival in July. Shrimp Festival in October. Shrimp season is middle Sept- mid Nov. Hunting Island State Park pass available for 1 car upon request returned at time of departure.
