My family really enjoyed our stay here. The Port Royal Sound is a wonderful place to discover. We would walk the beach in the mornings and evenings and during our 5 day stay, we saw an abundance of wildlife including Dolphins and fishermen catching hammerheads and stingrays. One morning during high tide we saw a blacktip shark washing in on the beach. It was already dead , but in great condition and my 7 year old was thrilled to see one in such condition. We often had the whole beach to ourselves and the sunsets are beautiful. The Port Royal Sound is not a swimming beach but the state park is an easy drive and there is a free pass at the house.
The House was clean and was in a quiet location. We rented a golf cart which was fun to piddle around in. Overall, a great experience for my family of 10 to enjoy and relax.
Me and my family stayed here for a week. There were 13 of us. 10 adults 3 kids. At first glance the house was really nice. When we got inside it was a different story!! The house was hot bc the air was turned off so it took forever to get cool. The fridge was also turned off and took about a day or so to get cold!! (Mind you we checked in Sunday @3 people left at 10am) "the cleaners" simply don't clean!! The floor was gross! I left my toddler in socks bc the floor was so dirty! And then the fan in the living room didn't work at all. The screen on the back patio was ripped so all the bugs were getting in. The worst of all were the cockroaches!!! They were all over the place in the kitchen in the dishwasher in the down stairs bathroom! It was gross!! When we told the person in charge all she did was bring roach spray two days before we left.. Highly disappointed in this house! Luckily we still had a good time on the beach, but that's about it. The bikes were locked in the shed with no key to get to even ride a bike! I feel bad for the next people who rent it mostly bc the cockroaches when we left we were finding baby cockroaches. Would not recommend at all!
The house and it's well-manicured yard provided our family a beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing home away from home. It was away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a few minutes from necessities like grocery & convenience stores as well as the niceties afforded by local shoppes and restaurants. It is directly across the street from Fort Fremont which we strolled through on our way to the beach which was only about 100 yards away. The house gave us more than enough room to be comfortable in. It is well-shaded and reaps the benefits of the coastal breezes. It was the first time my wife & I and her immediate family were able to all get together away from our respective homes on a true vacation together. Everyone enjoyed it so much that we intend to make this an annual event. Would very much recommend this home as a vacation spot for your family as well.

We had eight adults attending my son's graduation from Marine Basic on Parris Island. Our initial plan was to stay at a hotel near the entrance to the base. By the time we paid the jacked up room rate + fees + taxes, we quickly realized that we could each pay our share of this beautiful home and pay less than we would for a hotel room. Then Ms. Houston, the home owner, gave us a military discount (which we didn't request and I thought was so very kind of her) which made each share of the rental much less than had we paid for a hotel room.
Bell Point is a lovely property with plenty of room for folks to spread out. It is peaceful and quiet with an old fort in the backyard and is only a few short steps from the beach. Diane, the property manager, was responsive and available at all times. Jane, the home owner, even called me at one point when we had a question. Very nice individuals who care about the property and about our stay at their property.
The only complaint I can even come up with is that I was not contacted with details on how to access the house once we arrived until the day before we left. While that is plenty of time, I was a bit nervous over it as we had several cars with which to coordinate plans. I did receive a call from Diane the day before we left and she fielded all of my questions and provided all pertinent information.
Should we return to the area, we will most certainly stay at Bell Point. Big shout out to Ms. Houston for sharing her lovely property with us!
If you plan to be in the area, please consider staying at Bell Point. I guarantee you won't regret your decision!
We stayed here when my son graduated at Parris Island. We had a large number of people (12) so this home was perfect. It was clean & had everything we needed. It was a little farther from the base than I wanted but the scenic view was worth the drive. The house is across the street from the fort which has beach access. I would love to go back just to visit, relax & not have to "hurry up to wait", the Marine way.
We had a very nice time. The house was everything we hope it would be. Jane has done a very good job with the home she even had the home decorated in Marine Corps theme which was a nice touch since are son was graduating Marine Corps boot camp. Her description of the home was spot on.
Spectacular Sunsets!! Shrimping, public boat ramp within 2 miles. Home is second row 300 feet from the beach. Beaufort Water Festival in July. Shrimp Festival in October. Shrimp season is middle Sept- mid Nov. Hunting Island State Park pass available for 1 car upon request returned at time of departure.
