We enjoyed our family vacation at Bell Point. It was a nice surprise to see the Christmas decorations, since we were there to have our family Christmas get together. The little beach and Fort Fremont were fun, my three year old grandson called it the jungle beach and monster land. Everything we needed was there at the house, but we could never find the trash dump, so we left our trash which we never do. Overall, the house is as appears in the pictures, we enjoyed our stay, and probably would go again. The main reason for our stay was to visit Hunting Island to relive memories, but when we got there it was closed down. That was very disappointing. Ronna Bosse
We had so much fun at this house. It was so well stocked and very clean. Loved the kitchen and all the great appliances. The yard was perfect for corn hole and fires in pit at night. Very quite neighborhood (we were the loudest). Our grand-daughters 6,5,and 2 years old had a great time day and night at the fort across the street! The golf cart was another huge plus! We enjoyed the kayak and paddle board as well. Perfect bay for paddle boarding. The screened in porch was great for playing games and when everyone played we would move into the fabulous dining table (huge)! Easy place to cook and eat Thanksgiving dinner. The owner was so helpful with everything. Thank you Jane for opening your home to us.
The house in the pictures makes you think you staying at a nice home. Upon arrival there were roaches crawling in the hall bathroom sink. The carpets are filthy!!! The house smelled so bad we almost couldn't stay there. It smelled so musty and just had this wet old damp smell in it. The floors were filthy!!! The upstairs floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The worse part was the upstairs has no heat and my kids almost froze. Then in the day when we needed the a/c it barely blew. We stayed here for my son's Marine Graduation and had I known it was so far from Parris Island I would've looked elsewhere especially due to all the issues with the house. I didn't even bother calling the home owner because we were so busy running back and forth to the Island to see my son I didn't have time. We just dealt with the problems. Also if you stay here being an iron! There's is from 1940. It doesn't work. Oh and the tub in the hall bathroom takes 15 minutes to drain and if you need to put makeup on in there bring a light! The bathroom light is horrible!!! You can barely see! The wifi never worked one time. I had 50+ emails from work I needed to answer but wifi never worked. Finally was able to use my hotspot off my phone to get on laptop for a few minutes. Appreciate the use of a place to stay to see my son during his graduation but a big let down.
We were told we had power to the home. We had no power, homeowner briught candles and matches on the first night. Had to eat out every night due to no power. Water was not safe to drink, no hot water. We had friends that rented a home as well that had no power and were giving other homes to stay in. We were not. It ended up costing us much more than we expected due to we couldn't make any meals or eat at the house.

Bell Point is a beautiful clean home with everything to make our stay comfortable. There is even a closet with things you may need, extra sheets, blankets & pillows, a baby crib, chairs, air mattress & etc. We rented a golf cart from the owner for 2 days & we all enjoyed taking turns to explore Fort Fremont across the street and connecting beach by the bay. The Hunting Island state park is only 15-20 minutes away, the beach is miles long & not at all crowded.
Our grandson was graduating at Parris Island & it only took 35 minutes to get there. Even on graduation day there was no traffic, which we thought would take us an hour to get there, but no problem.
Wal-Mart, grocery stores, & restaurants are nearby. A fun proud week with our Marine.
We had a wonderful trip to Bell Point. The property was gorgeous, clean, and even bigger than it looks in the online pictures. The screened in porch and shaded areas of the yard allowed us to enjoy outdoor games even in the heat of summer. The beach was only a short walk through the neighborhood, and it was beautiful. The beach was not crowded, even on a sunny Saturday afternoon. And the water was perfect for swimming. The neighbors were wonderful and welcoming, but it still felt very private—our very own tucked away paradise for the weekend.
Thank you, Bell Point, for making our weekend trip to the beach perfect!
