This charming three bedroom, two bathroom custom-built timber frame home sits on an acre and is just ten miles from the west entrance to Glacier National Park. With three bedrooms and a full size sofa sleeper, it will comfortably sleep 7 people. The kitchen comes complete with stainless steel appliances including a microwave. There is a washer and dryer for your convenience and the home is equipped with WIFI internet service and cable television. The back deck offers a peaceful scene into the woods, with a grill ready for you to BBQ. The master suite is located up it's own set of stairs and includes a queen size bed, hand-tiled bathroom, cable television, a private upper level deck, and plenty of room to relax and unwind. The second and third bedrooms are located at the top of an open-air handmade wooden spiral staircase with full and twin beds respectively, built right into the walls. Additionally, there is a soothing meditation loft beneath the skylights which can be reached from the top of a built in ladder off the second floor. There is a television and DVD player in the living area along with a woodstove, perfect for curling up on those chilly Montana nights. The home has a private eight-person hot tub and a fire pit with a fully stocked supply of wood and is situated just a block off the middle fork of the Flathead River. The home is only 14 miles from Glacier International Airport in Kalispell. With easy access to Highway 2, this one-of-a-kind timber frame home is perfect for a summer vacation to Glacier National Park or Whitefish Mountain Resort, and is close to many other attractions around the Flathead Valley of Montana. Perfect Rental for Glacier

This was the perfect place for our family trip to Glacier National Park. It is very close to the west entrance and very close to grocery and places to eat. The house was very clean and well stocked. We loved the uniqueness of the house. The hot tub, washer and dryer were a great bonus. The rental process was very smooth and Holly was great to communicate with. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

A perfect base camp for a a trip to glacier! So close to the park but also 15 minutes from whitefish and lots of good restaurants very close. Comfy beds, very clean and the washer and dryer were a bonus! It's in a neighborhood-type setting, but the backyard is very wooded and private and so is the hot tub. Such a beautiful landscaped large yard! My husband and I loved our stay and the rental process was seamless. This house would be perfect for a family, as the rooms are separated on opposite sides of the house. Will definitely rent again on our next trip to Glacier National Park!

This cabin was just about perfect! Very easy to get to, located in a nice little neighborhood, and very close to Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Kalispell, and Flathead Lake. The cabin was a great size, with the kids upstairs and mom and dad on the other side of the cottage. We loved the wood stove and had it roaring every night. It kept the house a perfect temperature during a beautiful, snowy Christmas. The hot tub was awesome, looking out onto the backyard and secluded by trees. We've rented cabins for Christmas for several years and this was by far the best we've been to!

The Hobbit House

3-day stay w/wedding celebration

Holly. The guests loved the place, especially the hot tub and yard. Our event on Sunday went supremely well. We had about 40 people that day and the yard was perfect. Sorry our garbage did not fit your two garbage cans.

Just a few things that you may not know...

The fuscia on the front entrance was dead and full of spiders...not inviting.

The sliding glass door to the main deck needs adjustment; we tried not to use it much as it catches and will be damaged more as time goes on. Same with the screen to the sliding glass door. I couldn't get the sliding glass door (main) to lock. There are some screws coming out on the main deck that could catch a toe. The coffee pot was dirty and the tip-out in front of the kitchen sink was really grimy. Finally, the upstairs bedroom with the twin bed was unventilated and nearly unbearable. It was hard to get air flowing through the house. If there is a way to get air into the bedroom, we didn't figure it out. The person who had planned to stay there went out a rented a motel room.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. The sliding glass door/screen door is in need of replacement, and should be replaced by the end of October 2015. I also will be replacing the two smaller windows in the twin bedroom with larger, modern windows that open with screens (windows are custom, one-pane windows with no screens at the moment). Thank you for bringing the other issues to my attention. The home is rented almost nightly for five months per year, and sees a lot of use. The back deck boards will also be replaced by early May 2016.

Tax Rate 7.0%

25% of the rental fee is required as a down payment to hold the reservation. The remaining balance plus the 7% lodging tax is due two weeks prior to check-in date. After final payment is received, key box code and directions will be provided via email. Credit card information will be held for 48 hours after check-out date to cover any damages. Client will be notified of damage costs prior to charge.

A rental agreement will be emailed to you upon payment of the deposit. If you choose to use online booking, you will be required to provide a credit card number directly to homeowner, in the case of damage to the property.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to cancel your reservation more than 30 days from the check-in date, you will receive your entire 25% deposit back. If you cancel 15-30 days from check-in date, you will receive 1/2 of your deposit back. If you cancel your reservation within two weeks of check-in, you do not receive your deposit back.

There are no additional fees.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
