It was currently and tastefully remolded and decorated by the current owners over the last couple of years, combing the best of the old and the new in this charming space. This beautiful South Facing flat features its own washer and dryer, recessed lightning, exposed brick walls. It has a dining room table in the living space that seats four and a great flat screen television in the living room.
You will enjoy walking to Eastern market on the weekends and will delight in the myriad of vendors selling thier wares. Perhaps an evening stroll to one of the fabulous restaurants of Eight Street? Maybe a swim in the Indoor Swimming Pool at Eastern market? Only a few minutes away.

We really enjoyed our stay in this rental. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe. The apartment was clean and had comfortable furniture. It was very nice to do a load of laundry at the end of the day. We could hear footsteps upstairs at times, but it was by no means disruptive. Management was very accesible and seemed very motivated to make our stay enjoyable. There is a park within a few blocks and on the other side there is a little market that had breakfast pasties, coffee and beer/wine. We used grubhub and found excellent pizza and Thai delivery. We would stay here again.
Loved the location, walked to Lincoln Park, walked to Eastern Market, walked to Union Station. It was great to have a home base. The owner was great with communication.
The unit was comfortable, conveniently located for our trip destination and very clean. The area is an excellent neighborhood for experiencing "real" Washington residential life. Well cared-for homes with residents out and about. Excellent park within two minutes walk and restaurants within easy walking distance. There is a slight basement odor to the unit which could probably be removed for a much better experience for tourists.
This apartment was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation rental. Charming neighborhood, walkable to most of DC, and clean. If you are looking to sightsee in the DC area, this is a perfect rental unit. Our only disappointment is that there was a picture (since taken down) of an outdoor living area. This is not the case and I'm glad they've taken that picture off. However we may not have rented it had we known there wasn't an outdoor area. Overall we were very pleased with both the unit and the folks managing the property.
We enjoyed our week in DC in this apartment. It has everything you would need for a home away from home. The bed is really comfortable. The sofa bed was also comfortable. It was a very cold week in DC and the heaters worked very well. We were glad that we brought slipper since the concrete floor was a little cold. This would be a good thing in hotter weather. We found it a very safe neighbourhood and walked both during the day and well into the evening. The only negative is that the house above this basement apartment is also a rental and there is little sound insulation between the two spaces. We were always able to sleep with earplugs in (and I am a light sleeper).
The apartment is about a 10 minute walk from the nearest metro station (Eastern Market). That metro stop is near a very good organic store, lots of restaurants and shops and the Eastern Market.
This location is top notch! Beautiful neighborhood tucked away in the city. Easy access to public transportation.
