About the property

"Loft"sleeps 8 (on 4th/5th fl, 3 bed/2 bath w/sofa sleeper, private rooftop)

Need more space.....rent the condo downstairs. The "Palace" (VRBO #457800) sleeps 10 (on 2nd & 3rd floor, it is 3 bed/2 bath w/2 sofa sleepers, huge deck over the 2 car garage.

- Your vacation home is a 1500 sq. ft.duplex loft condo located on the East side of Wicker Park. Being on the east side means closer to the expressway (2 min), closer to the Division Blue Line Train (5-7 min walk) and cheaper cab fares since we are right off of the expressway ($10-15 from most Chicago attractions).

-This is a small boutique building. There is a real estate office on the 1st floor, the "PALACE" is our 2nd/3rd floor unit and the "LOFT" is on the 4th/5th floor. It is 64 steps to the top unit (no elevator) but the unobstructed view of the Chicago Skyline from the private rooftop makes is amazing!

We are located in East Village / Bucktown / Wicker Park / Ukranian Village area. Many Restaurant, cafes, eclectic shops, nightlife is a few blocks away.

The first floor of the condo consists of 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a 5' x 22' covered balcony, an elliptical in one of the bedrooms, guest bath with shower, the kitchen, and the living room with full size sofa sleeper, fireplace plus 60' tv.

The second floor of the condo is the lofted master bedroom with king bed, master bath with double sinks, 2 person Jacuzzi tub/shower, laundry, and a private rooftop deck with an unobstructed view of the Chicago Skyline.

A 5 minute walk takes your to Wicker Park boutiques(Noir, le Dress, Paper Doll, Penelope's, Pagoda Red, Nina, Psycho Baby, Pavilion,), art galleries, theaters, restaurants, summer patio's, nightclubs and coffeehouses (Ex. Carriage House, Bedford, Anthem, Boundary, Jerry's, Fifty/50, Smoke Daddy's). A 10-20 minute walk to Bucktown and 10 minutes to Chicago Avenue places.

- Take TRAIN (Blue Line) from O'Hare to Division Street Blue Line and a 5-7 minute walk to condo. Same TRAIN (Blue line) takes you to the downtown area in 10 minutes (about 2 miles), 2 blocks away is Chicago Ave to catch the bus to Michigan Avenue area. Best part is to get exhausted exploring the city and you are only a $10-$15 cab ride back to condo because we are a few blocks from the expressway. For our travelers with cars street parking is free right around the corner.

An additional unit is available in the same building on the 2nd/3rd floor. It is 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 2 sofa sleepers, and huge deck over 2 car garage. Property number is 457800.

Wicker Park/Bucktown: Imagine a foodie haven, boutique shopping, bar hopping, martini sipping, hipster vibe, world class neighborhood. From Marc Jacobs and Club Monaco to thrift shops and Fjallraven, welcome to Wicker Park. It has a trendy, local vibe and is conveniently located right off the safe Blue Line with three major L stops just six minutes from the Loop and downtown-- Division, Damen, Western. What I love most about Wicker Park is the laid back environment with genuinely good people. Tons of young people, families, young professionals, the business crowd, and yes.... hipsters! While it appears the more artsy, hipster scene is migrating north to Logan Square due to skyrocketing living costs in Wicker Park, the culture undoubtedly still exists. My personal favorite is Division Street on the southern border of the neighborhood. Lots of exciting developments and a more reserved scene compared to the hustle and bustle of the Six Corners (North Ave, Milwaukee, Damen). Spend your time walking around the perimeter roads (Division, Damen, North, Ashland ... Ashland is the least interesting) and the primary cut-through road (Milwaukee Ave). Take a little time to wander through the side streets, there are many older homes that are quite nice, plus a number of new constructions sneaking in alongside.

About Niki Hondropoulos

I am born and raised in Chicago. I still LOVE exploring this city because something new is always popping up. I love the Cubs, street festivals, our restuarants/bars scene, architecture, people watching while having coffee in one of the many outside patios. Happy travels!!!

Niki Hondropoulos purchased this condo in 2002

What makes this condo unique

-The REAL reason to stay in our Wicker Park is super trendy shops, great food, fun music and awesome patio's for people watching. Don't fall into the tourist trap and pay the crazy prices to stay and play downtown.

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay. Very well taken care of, and everything was clean. Even had snacks set out on the counter with a note for us to have some! Huge plus - there is 1 car garage that is attached to the property. Only about 10 minutes from downtown Chicago, and about a 10 minute walk to the train station. Would recommend staying here!

3 couples stayed to celebrate a 40th birthday. Great location near several areas in Chicago. Stairs are killer but rooftop spot was worth it. Nikki was awesome to work with and so helpful. Condo was clean.
