I live on the Front Range of Colorado and visit Redstone as often as possible. I have two college age daughters who practically grew up in Redstone on our regular visits during their childhood years. I plan to retire at the house in Redstone and enjoy sharing the place until then. I aim to exceed expectations so please do let me know if there is anything i can do to make your stay enjoyable.
Owner purchased this Cabin in 2007
Why Owner chose Redstone
After many years of exploring Colorado, we settled on the Crystal River Valley as we believe it is the most beautiful valley in the state. It also provides us the ability to live in a small community while having access to all that the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love to sit by the river, relax and enoy the mountain views. We hike the East Creek Trail and bike Coal Creek Canyon. We enjoy Penny, Avalanche Creek and Glenwood Springs hot springs. The kids love to walk to the General Store or bring an activity and enjoy the community park. We love the live music events at the park and walking the Boulevard meeting both visitors and residents alike. We love to spend time as a family relaxing, enjoying the outdoors and taking day trips to explore - Aspen, Crested Butte, Marble, etc...

This cozy cottage is the perfect hideaway for experiencing the low-key ambience of Redstone, as well as command center for some of the best hiking in the Central Rockies. We hiked to Crystal Mill, the Devil's Punchbowl and Thomas Lakes at Mt. Sopris. Three of the best fall hikes we've ever taken. The Redstone Inn is the perfect place to unwind for a good meal after a long day on the trail. This cottage has all the amenities necessary for a wonderful stay: nice kitchen, fireplace, washer/dryer, plenty of grassy outdoor space in the shade and along the river to relax. The only thing that is missing is a bathroom with a woman in mind. No place to put toiletries or makeup and no light over the sink to see should you attempt the process--also no electrical outlet in the bathroom that I could find. Nevertheless, a lovely stay!
Thank you for the nice comments and just so you know I just had an electrician look at getting a plug in the bathroom and will keep trying to find some solution, but it was cost prohibitive. I don't give up easily so I will keep thinking of some kind of solution. Thank you for your visit and I hope you find your way back to Redstone someday.
We loved this place!!
We loved the log home. Loved the beautiful and well stocked kitchen. This house has the most beautiful and huge yard! We loved all the adirondack chairs for reading outside. We love Redstone; so quiet! We enjoyed eating in the beautiful dining room and picnic table out back. And...some wonderful meals at the Redstone Inn. We were really lucky to catch a free outdoor jazz concert in Redstone.
Loved the location at Redstone. The property is well appointed and we enjoyed our stay.
The owner was easy to work with and responded promptly to our questions.
There are two lounge chairs overlooking the river on the back that are great for after dinner drinks. Don't forget the mosquito spray
Great location, very cute small mountain neighborhood.
The cabin was nicely stocked with amenities and some fun touches like bikes to ride down the lane and a record player. I do think some housekeeping could be tidier - some towels didn't smell the freshest, TV room could use some TLC and slipcovers seemed old/not fresh, but the overall charm was great. We enjoyed it!
Special place in a special town
Loved the property! Great place for rest and relaxation, beautiful hiking, and hot springs soaking. The owner was very responsive when we had an issue with the oven. Would stay again!
Perfect spot for a family
My husband, one year old son, mom and step-dad just spent one week in this beautiful log cabin and commented more than once that we had absolutely everything we needed. The house is perfectly equipped with everything you may have at your own home: laundry, dishwasher, pots/pans dishes, coffee pot, everything. It was stocked with coffee, sugar, condiments, etc. Our son goes to bed around 7pm, so we needed to stay around the cabin in the evenings. We had great options: grilling in the backyard and dinner outside, a late evening movie (there was a nice selection of DVDs), or simply sitting by the river with the baby monitor. We were walking distance from the town park which our son loved, the general store, numerous hikes, shops, restaurants. A short drive from really magnificent hikes into the mountains. The town of Redstone is adorable and quiet. We had a really wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
Thank you; you offer a great summary of the area and I hope you visit again soon.
Ice climbing. Hot Springs. Whitewater rafting. There is also an outfitter based in Redstone that offers hunting and sightseeing trips into the backcountry. Redstone is surrounded by Wilderness Area --- any direction you go offers scenery and adventure.
