The log cabin is located on the Crystal River in the quaint town of Redstone. The entire village is on the National Register of Historic Places. The cabin is in an Aspen grove in the quiet, neighborhood section of Redstone steps away from the Redstone Inn, shopping, restaurants, the old-time General Store, and the Community Park. Enjoy a sunset glass of wine or morning coffee by the river, fish right from the property, walk the East Creek Trail for a day or an overnight hike, take a bike ride up and down the 2 mile boulevard or a challenging climb up Coal Creek Canyon. Use the cabin as a romantic getaway, a family outdoor adventure or a base camp for exploring venues like Aspen, Crested Butte, Glenwood Spring, Marble, Snowmass, etc...
The cabin features a wonderfully updated kitchen and bathroom with steam shower. It sleeps up to 6 people in bunk and twin beds. The living room features a beautiful river rock fireplace providing a wonderful place to read and relax with family and friends.

We are a family of 4 living on the Front Range of Colorado.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007
After many years of exploring Colorado, we settled on the Crystal River Valley as we believe it is the most beautiful valley in the state. It also provides us the ability to live in a small community while having access to all that the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer.
We love to sit by the river, relax and enoy the mountain views. We hike the East Creek Trail and bike Coal Creek Canyon. We enjoy Penny, Avalanche Creek and Glenwood Springs hot springs. The kids love to walk to the General Store or bring an activity and enjoy the community park. We love the live music events at the park and walking the Boulevard meeting both visitors and residents alike. We love to spend time as a family relaxing, enjoying the outdoors and taking day trips to explore - Aspen, Crested Butte, Marble, etc...
The cabin itself is roomy, great layout, awesome steam shower.
The property has much to offer.
Stocked with great condiments and goodies.
It was relaxing sitting by the river.
Besides all the great things to do and see in the surrounding area. There are a couple of secluded things close by the cabin that are worth a look.
One is the Crystal river hike if you are a hiker, the trail head is north just down the street. The views are great, and if you keep going, (;o) the walk along the river itself way UP and back in the canyon is wonderful.
Also there is a road on the south side of the coke ovens called Coal Creek Rd.
Beautiful to walk/drive especially through the red stone canyon.
We hope to come back and stay here again.

The "cabin" in Redstone, CO is a fabulous place to stay. It is really more of a house than a cabin. It can accommodate a family of six (two adults & four children). Queen bed for the adults, a pair of bunk beds for children. It has a huge stone fireplace surrounded by a couch and two chairs, very modern kitchen, and spacious dining room. A separate living room has a TV with a couch, computer desk, and plenty of space to play games or watch DVDs. A washer and dryer are also part of the home. There is a beautiful old fashioned record player and a large selection of vinyl records to play. This lets someone under 40 learn about music in the old days and lets those of us over 40 a chance to go down memory lane. The bathroom has been updated with a steam shower which I'm sure would be fun to experience, but we never got the chance. Too busy. The steam shower would probably be perfect to use during snow season. But it was still fun to look out the shower window while bathing and see aspen leaves blowing in the breeze. Not every day you get to do that!
For us, the best part about this cabin is being on the Crystal River. There are four Adirondack chairs on the levee in a private area. We ate breakfast by the river almost every morning and never saw a neighbor. I probably could have been in my robe but 32 degrees was too cold for me to try it. Loved listening to the water, watching the birds and enjoying the fall colors on the mountains. Would definitely rent this cabin again if we ever get back to Redstone!
By the way, there is plenty to do in the area. We toured Redstone Castle, ate at Redstone Inn, hiked Coal Basin & hiked up to East Creek, took a 3-hour horseback ride and saw the National Sheepdog Finals in Carbondale. Could have done more if we had more time to stay.
You won't go wrong if you rent this cabin. In fact, you'll have the time of your life!...from the Jackson's in Mississippi
Our family of four (two young children) loved our stay in the cozy riverfront cabin. Our daughters loved the bunk room and swings in the front yard, and my husband and I enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and the use of the bikes (especially the tricycle for toting around our 3-year old!). Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will be back! Thank you Zane!
Redstone is idyllic and a great base to see this part of Colorado. We couldnt have picked a better location, 20 min to Catbondale and many great hiking trails. Easy to take day trips up to Aspen and other destinations. Only issue was a mouse guest that scared the wife.
Very cool little cabin that worked well for our stay. Very nice bathroom and kitchen. It could have been a little cleaner but we appreciated all the condiments, spices, etc left for our use.
Also appreciate being able to use the fireplace and the abundance of wood there.
We are definitely coming back to redstone!
If you're looking for a quite getaway that is close proximity to Carbondale, Basalt, Glenwood then look no further. Location is perfect to explore Redstone and other areas.
The home is well equipped and had everything you could possibly need. And yes even coffee! The homeowners put together a helpful user manual about the area and the home so take time to review it.
Keep in mind cell phone service doesn't work here. You'll have to drive 10 minutes towards Carbondale to pick up service. However, the home does have wi fi and a landline if you really must have it. It was nice not having a cell phone for a change. So take a brake from technology and enjoy the beautiful countryside of Colorado.
The river is just about 150 feet or so from home and you can hear it when your outside. One morning while I was drinking coffee I spotted a huge deer roaming around the backyard! Very cool!
The home was perfect and we would highly recommend staying here if your looking for a quite getaway. We will be back again!
