The log cabin is located on the Crystal River in the quaint town of Redstone. The entire village is on the National Register of Historic Places. The cabin is in an Aspen grove in the quiet, neighborhood section of Redstone steps away from the Redstone Inn, shopping, restaurants, the old-time General Store, and the Community Park. Enjoy a sunset glass of wine or morning coffee by the river, fish right from the property, walk the East Creek Trail for a day or an overnight hike, take a bike ride up and down the 2 mile boulevard or a challenging climb up Coal Creek Canyon. Use the cabin as a romantic getaway, a family outdoor adventure or a base camp for exploring venues like Aspen, Crested Butte, Glenwood Spring, Marble, Snowmass, etc...
The cabin features a wonderfully updated kitchen and bathroom with steam shower. It sleeps up to 6 people in bunk and twin beds. The living room features a beautiful river rock fireplace providing a wonderful place to read and relax with family and friends.

We are a family of 4 living on the Front Range of Colorado.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007
After many years of exploring Colorado, we settled on the Crystal River Valley as we believe it is the most beautiful valley in the state. It also provides us the ability to live in a small community while having access to all that the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer.
We love to sit by the river, relax and enoy the mountain views. We hike the East Creek Trail and bike Coal Creek Canyon. We enjoy Penny, Avalanche Creek and Glenwood Springs hot springs. The kids love to walk to the General Store or bring an activity and enjoy the community park. We love the live music events at the park and walking the Boulevard meeting both visitors and residents alike. We love to spend time as a family relaxing, enjoying the outdoors and taking day trips to explore - Aspen, Crested Butte, Marble, etc...
Redstone is idyllic and a great base to see this part of Colorado. We couldnt have picked a better location, 20 min to Catbondale and many great hiking trails. Easy to take day trips up to Aspen and other destinations. Only issue was a mouse guest that scared the wife.
Very cool little cabin that worked well for our stay. Very nice bathroom and kitchen. It could have been a little cleaner but we appreciated all the condiments, spices, etc left for our use.
Also appreciate being able to use the fireplace and the abundance of wood there.
We are definitely coming back to redstone!
If you're looking for a quite getaway that is close proximity to Carbondale, Basalt, Glenwood then look no further. Location is perfect to explore Redstone and other areas.
The home is well equipped and had everything you could possibly need. And yes even coffee! The homeowners put together a helpful user manual about the area and the home so take time to review it.
Keep in mind cell phone service doesn't work here. You'll have to drive 10 minutes towards Carbondale to pick up service. However, the home does have wi fi and a landline if you really must have it. It was nice not having a cell phone for a change. So take a brake from technology and enjoy the beautiful countryside of Colorado.
The river is just about 150 feet or so from home and you can hear it when your outside. One morning while I was drinking coffee I spotted a huge deer roaming around the backyard! Very cool!
The home was perfect and we would highly recommend staying here if your looking for a quite getaway. We will be back again!
This is a great property with plenty of room for a family of 4-6 to sleep. Well appointed and modern kitchen and bathroom remodels.
As a base for exploring the area, we found it perfect. The town is VERY quiet and quaint. The location is a little remote. Be mindful that local businesses have seasonal hours and close early. During our stay only the Redstone Inn (one of two restaurants in town) was open for meals. We planned for cooking breakfast at home and being out for lunch and maybe dinner so this was not an issue. A short drive away (in rural terms) is the town of Marble where there is a hidden gem of a BBQ restaurant called Slow Groovin. Highly recommend a visit there.
Other cool things to do are take the "hippy dip" at the free Penny Hot springs on the side of the road, take one of the multiple hikes from the trail heads right in town, or head down to Glenwood Canyon and do Hanging Lake.
The river was running to high due to Spring snow melt for us to enjoy more, but if we come back, it looks like it would be great to swim, tube, and fish.
Our stay at this riverfront log cabin was over the New Year's Eve long weekend. It was a wonderful, quiet, relaxing and restorative get away. The cabin is very well appointed and had everything we needed from a complete kitchen to washer and dryer to comfy beds to games to a delightful stone fireplace, complete with a well stocked wood pile which we thoroughly enjoyed after long snow shoes. The owners of the cabin were very pleasant and responsive to work with in making the arrangement for the rental. The town of Redstone was snowy, beautiful and quiet. We took several marvelous snow shoe hikes. There is a very well stocked general store in town with very accommodating owners. It was an all round wonderful couple of days.
Perfect location and beautiful cabin --the setting was gorgeous. Restaurants if you don't want to cook! Shops to explore. Scenery galore. The owners have thought of everything you might need. This is the hidden jewel in Redstone. Thanks for sharing a piece of your little heaven with us! We plan to be back!
Ice climbing. Hot Springs. Whitewater rafting. There is also an outfitter based in Redstone that offers hunting and sightseeing trips into the backcountry. Redstone is surrounded by Wilderness Area --- any direction you go offers scenery and adventure.
