Upstairs better shape. AC is window in bedrooms only. No wifi, very musty smelling basement Level

Bugs in kitchen - very tiny knat like and in living room, beds very uncomfortable, low water pressure, lots of seaweed in lake, small outside firepit area- too crowded, okay for last minute reservation but wouldnt book again. Cant even see/read directions on fridge- have to take garbage home with you.

Great location - cute cottage - needs spring cleaning/updates

  • 2 of 5

The cottage is nicely located, directly on the lake and has ample parking. Overall cleanliness was good, but needs spring cleaning and a visit from the exterminator. There were spiders and spider webs in every corner. The cottage is not on city water, but uses a well. There was a sign on the kitchen cabinet saying not to drink the water and there is a distinct sulfer smell. We brought plenty for cooking, drinking and brushing teeth. Very low water pressure and the water ebbs and flows, so don't freak out when you have shampoo running down your face and the water flow comes to a complete halt! The pump kicks in and the flow is restored. The shower could def use some attention. I will look for pics with open shower curtain next time. All of the beds are uncomfortable and the twin box springs are completely covered in mildew. The larger bedroom could accommodate a queen or twin inflatables if you have more people staying, but then sharing a bathroom might prove challenging. All of the other furniture is adequate. The AC smelled like mildew and vinegar even after I washed the filters. I will look at other accommodations next time unless improvements are made.

Great view

  • 3 of 5

This is a great location. Towards the end of the lake so not so many boats passing by. Everything you need is in and outdoors. My one negative side was the water as per the other reviews. The smell of it when you showered was not the most pleasing or turned on any faucet. The owner was very nice. She passed by on the first day and when we were checking out. Being from the city I really appreciated the location and view.

Great fun, everything we needed

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was great, loved it. If it was for sale I think I might make an offer. Caught tons of bass on the lake and has some great food in town. People were very friendly. Coming again in August.

Nice cozy cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Zahia's cottage. She has done a lot of remodeling and the place gets better each year. The well water was not that bad for washing and bathing. She put a new filter in the water system when we got there. They plan to run a town water line this fall so that will cure the water problem. For now just bring jugs of spring water for drinking. We caught some nice pan fish for dinner Saturday. The lake was really nice except on Thursday afternoon when we got chased off by thunderstorms. Otherwise we had a great time. Hiked by Canadice Lake, High Tor WMA and Harriet Hollster Spencer recreation area. Got pies from Monica's Pies in Naples. We will be back.

Great spot!

  • 4 of 5

Super convenient location, quiet, beautiful view out the first floor doors. Do wish we'd known to bring drinking water. I'd definitely stay there again!
