a charming and splendid retreat with canal views fully outfitted kitchen & bath
Imagine yourself amidst picturesque canals and charming campielli in the popular sestriere of Dorsoduro, a picture perfect place nestled away from the tourist crowds yet minutes from the major sites. Recently renovated and beautifully adorned, Ca' Venexiana is a treasure box in this treasured city, offering an unforgettable setting in which to experience the magic of La Serenissima.
At Ca' Venexiana, we are completely enclosed, away from the noise of the city's foot traffic on the calles and bordered on two sides by quiet canals. All of our windows face onto water to ensure your utmost privacy. Our garden courtyard is completely private (for our guests' use only) and opens onto a lovely canal for pleasant viewing of the passing gondolas. Any other traffic on our canals is restricted to gondolas and local small boats, sheltering us from the noise of daily delivery barges or trash boats. Ca' Venexiana is a true hidden paradise.
Decorated to a high standard and filled with personal touches both inside and out, we believe you will find everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Inside you will find a splendid retreat-sumptuously decorated-where you can truly live "la vita di Venezia," an experience no hotel can offer. Within minutes of our doorstep, you will find the popular and enjoyable Campo San Margherita, Campo San Barnaba, and the Zattere, all perfect and unique spots for basking in the Venetian atmosphere.
At Ca' Venexiana you will also find the 'little things' most easily overlooked when traveling - electrical adapters, a personal computer for guests' use, umbrellas, a library of books, guidebooks and maps, and even rainboots! There is a flat-screen computer for our guests' use, a vast selection of DVDs as well as complimentary Netflix for evenings in. We keep a selection of excellent cookbooks on hand, as well as seasonal herbs growing on our canalside courtyard. We strongly suggest visiting the local markets (daily fish, fruit and vegetable markets are located within two minutes of our door!) Our chef-inspired, fully-equipped kitchen has every modern convenience, ready for you to try your hand at some authentic Italian dishes.

We look forward to sharing our home, our neighborhood, and our beautiful city...with you.
The property also has its own boat mooring (9 m.)
NORTHEAST ITALY/VENETO REGION: Venice, the queen of the Adriatic, has been attracting visitors for centuries for good reason. Ca' Venexiana is located in sestiere Dorsoduro, long preferred by artists and writers alike for its peace, beauty, and inspiration. Amenities are all very close by. A fine selection of open-air markets and groceries can be found moments from our doorstep, while numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes (as well as the best gelaterias in Venice) are ready to welcome you.
ARRIVING IN VENICE: by airplane into Venice Marco Polo or Treviso airports. By train into Venezia Santa Lucia station. Jackie purchased this Apartment in 2009
Why Jackie chose Dorsoduro
I fell in love with the private courtyard that opens onto a quiet canal, where gondolas glide by all day. Very peaceful! Every window has a canal view and the apartment is utterly private and safe.
What makes this Apartment unique
Because we are sited on the crossing of two quiet canals, there is never the intrusion of foot traffic passing by the windows.

Felt at home. I even cooked a full meal. Jackie's representative spoke very good English and explained everything. I feel bad because I forgot to write something in the guest book. If I ever return to Venice I will stay here again. I rarely give a five star but this deserves the best.
Thank you so very much for your kind words. So happy to know you enjoyed your stay with us. Ciao!
Beautiful and welcoming home away from home - perfect location
Attention to detail and it’s unique location make this property stand out from the crowd. Canal views from every window with passing gondolas amidst a quiet setting, yet well located in the historical center of Venice. Exceptionally clean and well-appointed apartment. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
The apartment was in a perfect location, so quiet, but not far from anywhere!
It was very well equipped and comfortable.
The host could not have been more helpful.
Grazie Mille Ca'Venexiana (A Thousand Thank You's)
We have stayed in many lovely flats in Europe, but this one was the icing on the cake. It was large, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. There are 2 large bedrooms, a generous bathroom with a great shower, an eat-in kitchen with every kitchen accessory and appliance you would ever need and a living room that was cozy and restful to spend time in, with lots of reading materials available. The apartment was extreme quiet and its location in the Dorsoduro area situated on a canal was just perfect. The area was not touristy and provided easy access to shops, restaurants and the Grand Canal (Vaporetto). Jackie is a wonderful host. She was always available for questions, kept in touch during our visit and arranged a wonderful greeter to welcome us (Giulia). In the flat, there is an unbelievable book full of information and suggestions of what to do/see, where to go and how everything in the apartment works. This flat is a real gem. We will definitely return! Thank you Jackie for lending us this piece of heaven.
What a lovely review! Thank you! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope you will return again. We enjoyed very much welcoming you and your family to our home. Ciao ciao!
Very nice property, clean and very well furnished!
This was a very nice apartment in Venice, not far from the water buses. Had some great restaurants in the neighborhood. The patio was a nice area to sit and have a drink. The unit was very well furnished, had a very nice bathroom and kitchen. We would definitely rent again.
Lovely apartment in the Dorsoduro
My daughter and I spent 3 nights at this lovely apartment in the Dorsoduro region of Venice. The apartment is located in a neighborhood away from the busiest (and noisiest) areas of Venice, but within easy walking distance of the major sights, including the Grand Canal. It is also near good cafes and restaurants. The apartment itself is clean, well stocked, comfortable, and very nicely furnished. The owner is easy to work with, and provides lots of information about how to enjoy Venice. She also arranges for you to be met by a greeter who shows you the way to the apartment (a boon when you arrive jetlagged and have to deal with Venice's alleyways!). Highly recommended.
Thank you very much for your kind review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope we can welcome you again some day.
Ca' Venexiana is very well located for visiting this beautiful city. Vaporetto stops San Basilio and Ca' Rezzonico are each a few minutes walk from the apartment; Alilaguna water bus service from Marco Polo airport has a stop less than 5 minutes away. Piazzale Roma (the traffic terminus) and Stazione Santa Lucia/Ferrovia (train terminal) are within a 15-20 minute walk. From the airports (Treviso or Marco Polo), you can take the airport bus or land taxi to Piazzale Roma; from Marco Polo, also water busses and soon a tram will run from the airport. For those arriving by larger watercraft (such as the ferry from Croatia, Greece or points beyond), the terminal, Stazione Marittima, is 3- 5 minutes from our apartment. Private water taxis can also bring you nearest the apartment (although please bear in mind this option is the costliest.) If you are arriving by way of your own watercraft, we offer a private mooring (9 meters in length) directly alongside our courtyard Other Activities: antique markets, sightseeing, gondola rides, guided tours Golf: There is a lovely golf course on the Lido in Venice, comprised of 18th holes located in the Alberoni area, near the mouth of port of Malamocco. The course is approximately 100 hectares, offering natural features similar to many Scottish links, where sand and wind provide a game equal to that of the best British tradition. World famous professionals have played this course, among them Arnold Palmer (who still holds a 5 below par record). Along the course, you'll find a vast array of trees that flank the fairways and make the game even more difficult; pines, weeping willows, poplars and mulberry, while wildlife abounds. The course is green and playable all year round. Circolo Venice Golf Club is believed one of the best and most challenging Italian courses. http://www.circologolfvenezia.com. Ski: Several ski areas are within a 1.5 - 2 hr ride from Venice, including world famous Cortina D'Ampezzo, also Asiago, Lavarone, Sauze d’Oulx. Skiing is possible from October to April.
