Space 4,100 sq. ft.
Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

Farmhouse, 4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8), house is 4,041 square feet.

Historic Watch Goose Farm is now available as your private waterfront vacation destination. This family property (owned since 1942) can be enjoyed as a secluded and romantic getaway, or as a location for the active outdoor family vacation. Enjoy spectacular sunset views over a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. Spring and summer mornings bring the watermen to the cove as they set their lines for Maryland blue crabs; in the Fall migratory waterfowl make the cove their home through the winter. Private pool and dock are perfect additions to your memorable vacation or special weekend.

Your stay will be enhanced by this comfortable home with original 1730’s colonial architectural details. Enjoy your meals on the sun porch or al fresco poolside. The Great Room is perfect for watching movies, family games or spending a quiet afternoon with a good book. Enjoy a variety of restaurants and fine dining in “downtown” St. Michaels, and explore the Chesapeake’s cultural heritage at the nationally recognized Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

Bikes, kayaks, crabbing equipment, a library full of books and games are available for use during your stay.

Our family comes together for Labor Day Weekend mostly every year. This home, by far, exceeded the other homes we've rented. From the charming, interiors to the expansive grounds, pool, (in the sun- important!) dock, and views.

This our idea of heaven.

Nancy is lovely to deal with.

Watchgoose Farm, St Michaels, MD

  • 5 of 5

Watchgoose Farm is a special place made that much more special by extraordinarily caring and attentive hosts. Our family members arrived from different points in the country each with abnormally high stress levels from work. During our stay we maxed out on the relaxation scale such was the peace, tranquility and incredible views afforded by Watchgoose. We left -reluctantly- but completely refreshed and unwound . We have already signed on for next year. The fact that 2017 will be our third year in a row vacationing at Watchgoose says it all.

Lovely autumn escape

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for the right place to stay during the Ironman Triathlon and this was it. Our nephew was doing his first Ironman and was able to do training here and relax in preparation for the big day. It is minutes from St. Michaels and an easy 30 minute drive to Cambridge for the triathlon. The property is spacious and affords lots of privacy. Our stay was too short to take full advantage of the facilities... bikes, canoes, etc. But we had time to lounge by the pool (a little cold for swimming on this day) while appreciating the sunset and watching the geese in Barretts Cove.

The house was comfortable and large so everyone had his own space. The kitchen had everything we needed except maybe a blender. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well lighted. Even though the nights were unseasonably cold, the house was warm and comfortable. The owners were helpful and friendly. It was clear that they care deeply about the property and hope to make each visit memorable for their guests.

This is the perfect place for small family reunions and weekend social events for friends.

Columbus Day weekend

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at this lovely, interesting home! As others have mentioned, the photos do not do it justice. There is a lot of space to spread out, relax, read and play games. Children and adults alike enjoyed the kayaks, canoe and rowboat. Thanks Nancy!

Wonderful Weekend

  • 4 of 5

The house is lovely with great character. Even better than the house though is the property. It sits on a large parcel, almost like a peninsula, overlooking the water. The kids had a great time in the pool, which also has water views. St. Michael's is just a short drive away. We all enjoyed our stay very much.

Gem of a vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

Watch Goose Farm exceeded all of our expectations. Wonderful, idiosyncratic home right on the bay. The house is stocked with just about every item you could need; crab pots, kayaks, pool toys, a full library for rainy days, bicycles, cookware for home cooking, etc etc. The property is ideally located on the water and short driving distance from both the village center of St. Michaels and Easton. Best word to describe the property would be 'idyllic'. Be aware that cell phone coverage is almost nonexistent; bust out a good book and sit on the dock waiting for crabs to crawl into your traps for dinner. Highly recommended.
