Historic Watch Goose Farm is now available as your private waterfront vacation destination. This family property (owned since 1942) can be enjoyed as a secluded and romantic getaway, or as a location for the active outdoor family vacation. Enjoy spectacular sunset views over a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. Spring and summer mornings bring the watermen to the cove as they set their lines for Maryland blue crabs; in the Fall migratory waterfowl make the cove their home through the winter. Private pool and dock are perfect additions to your memorable vacation or special weekend.
Your stay will be enhanced by this comfortable home with original 1730’s colonial architectural details. Enjoy your meals on the sun porch or al fresco poolside. The Great Room is perfect for watching movies, family games or spending a quiet afternoon with a good book. Enjoy a variety of restaurants and fine dining in “downtown” St. Michaels, and explore the Chesapeake’s cultural heritage at the nationally recognized Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
Bikes, kayaks, crabbing equipment, a library full of books and games are available for use during your stay.

Beautiful and very well maintained.
Highly Recommend this vacation rental.
Absolutely fantastic! The home is amazing as are the pool and sunset/sunrise views on the dock. Nancy was always very helpful and even took the time to give us a tour of her home with historical background. She also gave us references as to where to eat and those places had great food! St. Michaels is such a quaint Harbour town with delicious seafood. We would definitely come back.
The only thing you need to be aware of is that the upstairs bedrooms have very narrow and steep steps. That being said, there are bars to hold onto as you ascend or descend.
Thank you, Nancy

The house was charming, the great room is beautiful. The pool is awesome! We had a wonderful time.
It's even better than the pictures
If you have a group of 8 (or fewer) close friends and you're looking for a relaxing retreat on the water - this is it. This was our second time renting this house, and it was even more fun than the first time. You have a great dock with seating to lounge on, kayak/canoes/rowboat, a pool, horseshoe, 2 bikes, games/puzzles/books... and a ton of space to lounge and spread out in.
The space is a beautiful, well taken care of old farmhouse - and the pictures don't do it justice. There is actually also a huge family room with vaulted ceilings and views of the water and the pool that isn't pictured. There is one small house next to the farmhouse with a permanent renter (also owned by Nancy and John), but we didn't see much of him. You can see one other small house across a field at the edge of the property... but other than that you basically can't see neighbors on land or on the shoreline. Very relaxing!
Nancy and John are extremely easy to work with, and live two houses away in case you need them (we didn't).
Comfortable historic retreat with lovely views and lots of space
Nancy greeted us upon arrival with the house keys and a tour, pointing out the essentials and making herself available for any questions or needs. Our group of five women and a five-month-old baby were looking for a weekend retreat and the farm fit the bill perfectly! The grounds are extensive and secluded, with lovely views of the water from all windows and lots of seating around the pool for conversations. The house is absolutely charming and comfortable (the photos really don't do it justice). There is plenty of space for meals, watching the sunrise with coffee, playing puzzles and games, napping and/or reading.
There were only two minor drawbacks:
1-Cell phone signals are poor or nonexistent but there is WiFi to allow for connectivity to family at home;
2-Just watch out for the low doorways and staircases if you're over 5'6"-- it is to be expected in such an old home and is part of the charm!
In summary this was the perfect spot for our reunion and everyone commented multiple times on how pleased they were with the rental. The toughest part was leaving!
Our family comes together for Labor Day Weekend mostly every year. This home, by far, exceeded the other homes we've rented. From the charming, interiors to the expansive grounds, pool, (in the sun- important!) dock, and views.
This our idea of heaven.
Nancy is lovely to deal with.
Dock and waterfront provide boating, crabbing, fishing and oystering during the season.
