When you vacation in Sunriver, you want to be near the action - and that's exactly what this cozy cabin offers. SHARC, the amazing aquatic center, is located steps away from Sunriver Village and scheduled to open Memorial Day, 2012. You get eight free passes to enjoy SHARC's pools, play areas, year-round tubing hill and so much more!
After all the fun, you'll be happy to come back to this cute house to relax in the woodland setting. This home also includes access to Sunriver Fitness and Aquatics, a fitness facility on the north end of Sunriver that includes cardio and weight training, an indoor pool, rock wall, and half court basketball gym (flowrider admission is extra).
Cook your meals in the convenient kitchen, and eat them in the dining area or out on the deck. After dinner, enjoy the rustic living area with its large windows and vaulted ceiling. As you sit around the wood-burning fireplace, you can even here the train whistle like it used to in the early days in Central Oregon. You'll also find plenty of modern amenities, of course, including the new flat screen TV with cable.
The house features three bedrooms and two baths. The main floor has a queen bedroom with a full bathroom and an outside deck. This makes 5 Butternut a convenient choice if any of your guests have limited mobility.
The upper floor houses two bedrooms and a full bathroom. One bedroom is a queen, and the other has a queen bed plus twin bunks.
This cabin is just right for a family with children, or a group of friends who come for skiing or sledding, horseback riding or kayaking. Your dogs are even welcome, with an additional nightly fee! When you want to eat out or enjoy retail therapy, you can zip to the Village within minutes, and when you want to take life easy, you can stay here and enjoy the comforts of home.

Nice retreat in nature
We had great family time in this cabin, and the little ones LOVED the train right behind the property!
Cousy and nice
Very accommodating, nicely kept. Enjoyable stay
Train track is very close and loud
The train track is way close and the train goes very fast and is noisy at all hours of the day
We are sorry to see this guest did not enjoy the train. Some of our guests enjoy the novelty of it, but we understand not everyone will.
I had read recent reviews prior to arriving. This is the fifth home we have rented in Sunriver. I found none of the previously described issues when we arrived. The house was clean. The beds were comfortable. The furniture was in good condition. The floors and counters were clean. The kitchen was reasonably well supplied. The trains did not bother us, but you do notice them. The hot tub and deck were in good condition. For the price and the location, I would recommend this place to friends and family.
Not worth it!
Dirty!! Train track is right behind it and will go off at 5 am and more times. It will shake the house. The appliances are very old. Oven door doesn't stay open. I burned myself trying to get stuff out. The dishwasher doesn't clean stuff. The cupboards were gross. Spiders beware! The pots and pans are old (and were also dirty) and the kitchen was far from equipped. The furniture is so old they felt dirty to sit on. A hanging lamp in the kitchen almost fell on my daughters head when it unraveled. The heater when turned on smelled gross we left it off. Yes this was an inexpensive rental and old so you get what you pay for, but updates (at least for safety reasons) are well spent. And no-one should have to feel like they are staying in a dirty place. Sharc is close and with in walking distance which would be the only pro, but if you are renting you can't use the gym. But hey go stay in Black Butte which isn't that bad of a drive from Bend (still takes 20 minutes from Sunriver) and you get all the same privileges as owners and it is NICE!! Quiet, no train tracks, deers, squirrels, multiple pools, gorgeous scenic bike trails, etc. Sisters is quaint and close. Much butter than the Village. We will be going back there and will enjoy the beautiful drive from Sisters to Bend from here on out. Sunriver was not a win for us. Ill do the drive for Bachelor from Sisters to ski. Hoodoo is lovely too and close to Black Butte.
