About CARMEN

Founded on a love for the Madrid lifestyle, I am the owner of some quality apartments in Madrid’s best neighbourhoods. My apartments are perfectly located, beautifully furnished and offer all the comforts of home. Most importantly, they are centrally located: walking distance to Madrid landmarks, museums, great restaurants and classic TAPAS bars, top shopping spots and Madrid transport. I live on Santa Ana square and I am there to offer a warm welcome when you arrive and help with any questions you may have.

Guestbook comments from the manager

First time travelers to Madrid....we knew nothing about the neighborhoods. We must have looked at 50+ apartments (online) prior to booking PRINCIPE TWIN. WE SCORED!! And you will too! We stayed for 6 nights. This apartment is located on Calle del Príncipe which is a very nice street. We walked EVERYWHERE! This apartment is so centrally located! We were 15 minutes from everything! Of all of the plazas, Plaza Santa Ana turned out to be our favorite and it was just around the corner!! This apartment is well-maintained and fully equipped - you will not need anything except for your suitcase. You will find coffee makers (traditional & American), juicers, pots, pans. The kitchen came in handy for our morning breakfast. There is a decent market on Plaza de Matute. Sol & Carmen are wonderful! They speak excellent English which made communicating very easy. They are extremely helpful and accommodating. If you are looking for a comfortable, convenient place to stay in Madrid - look no further! You will not be disappointed!

Great place in a great location in Madrid

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed in a studio apartment for 3 nights. Apartment was clean, efficient, and bright! We had all the conveniences we needed (kitchen, washer, coffee pot). Carmen was extremely helpful in making us feel at home and pointing out the sights we needed to see while in Madrid. The best thing about this apartment was the location. It is very centrally located - we walked to everything; no need for taxi. Neighborhood was safe and active, yet not noisy. If we every get the chance to return to Madrid, we will just book this place with Carmen - no need to look for anything else!

Best location possible!!!

  • 5 of 5

The location can't be beat--just a block from Puerta del Sol, which is the center of Madrid. (both literally and culturally). The water pressure was excellent, and the beds fairly comfortable. The wifi was nice to have as well. While not huge by American standards, this place is big for an urban European setting. Much more comfortable than a hotel, particularly if there is more than just a couple. It was nice to have central spaces to chat etc. vs. just a hotel lobby. We were truly lacking for nothing. You can't go wrong with this place!

Amazing location, amazing apartment, amazing city!

  • 5 of 5

Two friends and two nieces spent 8 nights in this clean, comfortable and perfectly located apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook gourmet meals, appliances new, cooking utensils, etc, just wonderful! Beds and linens comfy after a day of sightseeing. We enjoyed the balconies overlooking the street, watching folks stroll along the street, shopping and eating at small restaurants. The grocery store nearly across the street was so convenient. There was no need to use the metro, EVERYTHING was walking distance, Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofia, Market San Miguel, Archeologic Museum, Piazza Anna, Sol and Major. If you are looking for a charming, perfectly located apartment, this is it. Carmen and Sol very helpful and friendly. Saw one person complained about the stairs which is ridiculous unless you have disabilities, the stairs are well lit and wooden and the views from the balcony well worth the climb! and well working Wifi kept the nieces happy. Hope you enjoy Madrid as much as we did! sharon

Very Pleased

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this apartment and we loved it. The check-in process was very easy - Sol was informative, on-time, friendly, and helpful. It was perfect, plenty of space with the amenities we needed. The apartment was beautiful with all of its natural light and cozy furniture and decorations. It was also located in a convenient location, about an 2 minute walk to the metro and plenty of restaurants and shops around.

This is a great apartment for exploring Madrid. You can't find a better location in the center of the city, Cafe Principe is next door (serving breakfast through late night drinks), and Puerta del Sol is a 4 minute walk. The rooms are small but well appointed. The rental agency was efficient and a pleasure to deal with. The rental agent was a wealth of information and every one of her restaurant, cafe and sightseeing recommendations were spot on. Having read about the the five flights of stairs I was a bit concerned but soon realized it meant we were burning some of the calories we were enjoying.

Notes:
There are a huge number of things to do in Madrid, but it is often the famous Madrid shopping streets that lure people into renting Madrid accommodation. The fashion boutiques and local craft shops which adorn the central business district mean that shopping holidays in Madrid are never far from the top of the list for shopping destinations. The huge range of styles and cuisine of Madrid restaurants also helps to keep energy levels high, and fantastic cooking courses lasting between a single session and a whole week can easily be arranged. The medieval centre of Madrid hides many fantastic monuments. Those taking a Madrid weekend break are best staying in accommodation close to the historic centre, as there is so much here that you can fit a huge amount into just a short Madrid city break. The ‘big three’ museums in Madrid, the Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia, hold famous collections of art, and tourism in Madrid is often centred around the Puerta del Sol right in the city centre.
