Tropical paradise beach condo at Sundial East on Sanibel Island. Just steps from beach and best shelling in the world. Fodor's just named Sanibel Island as Favorite Vacation Destination. Great gulf view and sunsets. Large screened lanai to enjoy the beautiful beach and ocean. The pool just steps from the unit. Recent updates include new tile and shower in the guest bathroom, updated window treatments and new guest bedroom furniture including a queen bed and twin bed.

Sanibel is a great place to escape and enjoy nature, from dolphin spotting to Ding Darling Nature preserve where you can kayak in the mangroves and see spoonbills, alligators and more! Lots of golf and tennis nearby and the island is biker friendly with many trails. Fort Myers is also close by where you can catch baseball games. Our unit is 2 bedroom (master suite with bath) plus a den that closes off with a pull out sofa! There is a full kitchen and grill on site to cook fresh seafood and relax. There are 2 bathrooms.

My family has been coming to Sanibel since I was a young girl. Sanibel is truly a gift from the sea as described in Ann Morow Lindbergh's famous book. Not only is it a great family destination, it can also be a great romantic get away for long walks on the beach and some fabulous dining.

Please note for vacation rentals less than a week a cleaning fee of $135 will be added to the rate.

About The Owner

We are both attorneys and are raising 2 kids, a 19 year old son and 16 year old daughter. We enjoy golf, the beach and watching hockey and lacrosse!

The Owner purchased this condo in 2011

Why The Owner chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

My family has been vacationing on Sanibel Island since I was young. We love Sanibel as it is very accesible yet when you get to the island it is a total escape from reality. Because we are very active and enjoy nature Sanibel gives us the opportunity to not only relax, but also get out golfing, swimming, biking and kayaking. The beach is endless and the shelling is fabulous. There is some of the best birding too!

What makes this condo unique

The beach is just footsteps from our condo and once at the beach you cannot help but start shelling! There are great restaurants too within walking distance from our unit. If you like to play golf the course is just around the corner. If you play tennis the courts are on site!

Spacious and relaxing

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was in working order. The kitchen was well stocked. The new tile shower was very nice. The size of this condo is very spacious.

The place is great, the view is great and a very short walk to the beach.

Everything was clean and updated. The tennis facilities are excellent. 6 clay courts with a tennis pro and tennis events. I saw they are adding 12 pickle ball courts across the street, opening in March 2017. This will be a great additional activity. Grocery store on location is a big plus, everything you need is right there.

A Completely Lovely Condo in a Gorgeous Spot

This is a beautiful quiet condo on the third floor. The screened-in porch with two tables, seating for 8, plus a lounge chair, is a huge asset. You can see the Gulf and beach from there and some of the sunset; it overlooks the pool, also. (There is an elevator at the other end of the floor, although the condo is nearest the stairs and when you're carrying the 4! supplied! beach chairs to the beach, if you're able, it's really closest to just use the stairs.) The condo is comfortably and attractively furnished with a large living room as well as a smaller and lovely sitting/reading room that can be closed off. It also has a pull-out sofa in that second living room, in addition to the huge master bedroom with comfortable king-size bed, and second bedroom with a queen and twin. There are two full baths; double vanity in the master, and walk-in closet.

When we arrived there was a leak in the refrigerator and the ice maker was broken. I notified the property manager in the evening and the next day a repair person was there; the following day the ice maker was replaced. Excellent and unobstrusive service.

My only suggestion to improve the condo would be to have a few very basic kitchen supplies stocked; olive oil, salt, pepper, maybe some packets of sugar, and some basic dry herbs and spices.

I would instantly recommend this particular condo--and would love to use it as a home base for an upcoming family reunion, while having other family members rent additional condos in the building. However, there is an unfortunate restriction posted by the property owners association on the number of people who may gather in any one condo at a time--I believe it's ten--which means this building wouldn't work. The owner of the condo has been caring and responsive; the management did a fine job, and I don't think you can go wrong here. You'll even find beach toys, and a beach umbrella in addition to the beach chairs in the master bedroom closet.

Don't miss renting a bike; pedaling is easy around the flat island. Also not to be missed, in my opinion, is the "Segway Tour" run by Billy's Bike Rental. Takes 5-10 minutes to learn how to ride one; they're safe and easy and so much fun. The Fish House is funky, has a happy hour, and excellent, excellent fish. The trick is to look at all there is to do before you get there and plan ahead. Paddleboarding looked like a lot of fun but we ran out of time.

Sanibel and this condo are both beautiful! Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review! Sorry about the ice maker. It is hard to keep the salt and pepper and olive oil stocked but we will fill it up in February when we are there!
