"The Gold Door" is a stylish Mid-Century town home located in Travis Heights - one of Austin's most desired and unique neighborhoods.

Beautifully appointed with custom walnut cabinetry, stained concrete floors, stainless appliances, and modern, cozy furnishings. We've lived in Austin since 1999 and we love it. We enjoy traveling (as often as possible) and meeting the travelers that grace our vacation rentals. Our other passions include renovation, graphic design, film making, publishing, and wake-surfing on lake Austin.

Wonderful, comfortable rental!

Fantastic location in a quiet neighborhood. Close to a couple parks and playgrounds. A little bit of a steep hike to SoCo but it was a very short walk and even shorter car ride. We felt incredibly safe. There were always people walking or running by. The neighborhood is gorgeous. We loved looking at all the beautiful houses. We loved the modern touches and extra amenities. We slept incredibly well in the beds. The AC worked incredibly well and the rental was very child friendly. I have a couple recommendations – Include a crib sheet for the pack-n-play and get rid of that bathmat. All-in-all we had an incredible time and we would rent from this unit again! Thank you!

Perfect home in a perfect location that made our visit to Austin enjoyable and memorable!

This was our 1st visit to Austin and our stay at Dani & Joel's was perfect! We we're in a beautiful location, close to everywhere we wanted to visit. The accommodations were clean and modern and comfortable. We appreciated the list of recommendations they left us and followed them daily as our guide 😊.

We hope to return to Austin again and now we know where we want to stay!

Austin Modern

This was a great place to stay in Austin. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood but also accessible to the Downtown and Soco areas. The house is clean and very modern with a well equipped spacious kitchen. It was very private and quiet with a small yard where you can BBQ. We travel very often and this was one of the nicest properties that we have stayed in. Highly recommended.

Must stay! Perfect Home-away-from-home!

This is my third stay at one of Dani & Joel's bungalows and if that doesn't say it all, then read on!

Every stay at one of their homes, I always feel well taken care of and comfortable. We've rented for Austin City Limits and work stays and every time we've been happy.

The properterties are duplex mid-centry modern homes in close proximity to South Congress in a quiet, residential neighborhood. They are perfectly outfitted with lots of local information & thoughtful touches to help you acquaint yourself to the area.

We prefer to stay in one of the "soco spaces" rather than Austin hotels for the livability and comforts of home they provide. (And now Google Fiber!! )

I am always so appreciative of their hospitality--this stay I made a mistake with my arrival date & Dani kindly worked it out on the spot. And they also take care to remove all the down bedding for me because of my allergy.

We have been so inspired by our stays, that we bought our own rental home in Hawaii and copied many of their ideas in terms of making our home comfortable for our guests.

Suffice to say, you can't go wrong at any of their properties!
