Sebastopol Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, Studio + Other (See Description),(Sleeps 2)

Perfectly located, you will find our 'Little Bird Cottage just the ideal place to stay. You can easily access major highways and roads to see all of Sonoma county and more, yet we are tucked away down a quiet private road. How perfect! and we HAVE AIR CONDITIONING:)

We are excited to welcome you to our owner built and designed ground level studio located on our acre and half property here in Sebastopol. We are near, but you won't even know we are there:)

We call it 'Little Bird Cottage', because we have an abundant number of Finch and Chickadees everywhere .The brand new complete kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals/or special diets for longer stays if you like, but Sebastopol has a wonderful variety restaurants for you to choose from.

A beautiful hand-crafted 'Potterybarn' like bed, covered with high-end quality linens, pillows, and throws await you after a long day of traveling, sight seeing or visiting friends and family.

Out front of the studio you will find a full porch for enjoying that evening glass of vino you bought while wine tasting, or want to sun yourself a bit?, then relax in the Adirondeck chairs under the vintage Granvenstein apple tree.

From June through Sept. there is berry season;raspberries or boysenberries might show up on the porch to add to your morning breakfast ,yogurt or ice cream, and there is a lemon tree just outside your door.

It's a peaceful neighborhood, beautiful surroundings and close to everything you might want to see in the area. We can't wait to show you this cozy little spot.

Future plans: " SaraPinot Vineyards" is coming!! look for our new hobby vineyard that Ken and our sweet lab "Sara" are putting in this spring 2016.

About Kathy or Ken

Ken is a retired:) industrial sheet metal foreman, and Kathy is a retired administrator from a large HMO, and sewing instructor/interior designer, homemaker and lover of all arts/crafts. We are a hardworking family that enjoy the outdoors, small gardening projects, making and building things ourselves. We feel fortunate to be able to share this beautiful county with you.

Why Kathy or Ken chose Sonoma County

We have lived in Sebastopol for 18 years.

Raised our children here and wanted some property for them to roam around on, and Ken wanted to live near the coast for Salmon fishing.

What makes this cottage unique

Our property is very convenient to neighboring towns, the coast, the Redwoods, and beautiful vineyards.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We spent most of January here, and so glad we did. Little Bird Cottage was pleasing and homey, and just immaculate when we got here. Nice touches, fresh linens delivered weekly in a basket on the porch, with a surprise of wine, or sparkling water. The birds, quail and deer were also a bonus feature for us. We hope to pass this way again. Beautiful state and area you have here Kathy and Ken!

Cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! The cottage is right on Ken & Kathy's property, but feels very secluded and private. The cottage has everything you could need and is very well maintained. We enjoyed the full kitchen and made breakfast there every morning. Sebastapol is a very cute little town and is conveniently located ~30 minutes from anywhere in wine country you want to go ... also close to the coast! We enjoyed many activities during our 4 day stay (wine tasting, dinners out, bike riding, canoe trip, Armstrong Redwood Forest, trip to the coast), but it was so nice to come "home" to the cottage. I would definitely recommend staying here! We will definitely stay here again on our next trip. :)

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your generous and detailed review. We always appreciate our guests taking the time to jot down what they liked and where they went-seems you two covered ground:)) That just means you HAVE to come back to "the nest" ;0 and do all the things there are still left to do in the area, and or just relax??? Looking forward to seeing you again.

Quiet, peaceful, and perfectly located, Little Bird Cottage is an ideal property for couples

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Little Bird Cottage in Sebastopol. Our experience the first time exceeded our expectations, so we would not think of staying elsewhere. The gated property is quiet, clean, and has everything needed for a perfect vacation, whether just relaxing or cooking all of your own meals. The cottage is a completely separate unit with no shared walls. The owners, Ken and Kathy, are friendly and helpful, yet stay out of the way - we barely knew they were home! The location is great, close to downtown Sebastopol, the Sonoma Coast, wineries/vineyards, redwood forests, and some of the best cycling in the world. The local restaurants are excellent, especially the Hole in the Wall, The Gypsy Cafe, Woodfour Brewery, and Howard's (for breakfast in Occidental). We'll be back.

Owner's Response: Wow! You covered it all, and we appreciate your detailed review so much. Ken and I work hard at making our guests feel important, left alone, and have all the information they need to find good places to eat at, wineries, and day trips. Looks like you found some great ones. We welcome you back anytime; your "nest will be waiting":))Thank you.

Anniversary trip

  • 5 of 5

What a great, quiet, comfortable little place. This was our first trip to Napa/Sonoma and my wife and I LOVED it! We visited 7 different wineries in every direction - From North Sonoma to the south part of the Silverado Trail. Best part of Little bird is that it's only 30-45 minutes away from all of these. We visited smaller wineries (Porter Creek, loved it!) to a few of the big guys, Kundee and Chateau Montelena (a MUST). Saw and shopped some great little towns (Calistoga/St. Helens) and had some great meals - Glenn Ellen Star in Glen Ellen is amazing. All this said, we will definitely be back! Save your money - you'll spend more on wine than you think (: We didn't meet Kathy but're the man! THANKS

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and informative review. Our future guests will benefit, and Ken and I will try Glen Ellen Star for sure. You two know how to cover ground for sure and get the most out of your trip; 7 wineries! Wow-yes there are so many, but looks like you choose well:)) Sorry not to get out to meet you/Ken and I take turns when we get busy-he does a great job-but he's been trained well;;;))) Please fly back to the "nest"-so much more to see and do.

If you are going to wine country, stay here. The cottage is adorable, the grounds are quiet and beautiful. Kathy's hospitality goes above and beyond with wine, fresh flowers and cookies waiting for us after a long flight. Sebastopol is a cute town with many good restaurants and wineries. We liked Zazu in The Barlow, Hopmonk Brewery, and Dutton Estate Winery. Our weekend here was very special, I hope to make it back for another stay at Little Bird Cottage.

Owner's Response: Although your stay was brief, we were so glad you had the opportunity to experience the area and the cottage before getting back to work:( We know our guests often say how 3 nights is no where near enough, but travel far and want to see other parts of California-please fly back to "the nest" your next time visiting CA, and thank you so much for the great review.

Serene setting in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

In the heart of the wine country, the Little Bird Cottage is a cozy cottage perfect for two. It is evident that the hosts Ken and Kathy have an eye for detail and make sure that their guests are comfortable and cared for. I was in the area competing in the Vineman Ironman but plan to return again soon to enjoy this fabulous cottage and the neighboring community.

Charming and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

I could not imagine after reading all of the 5 star reviews that the cottage would be as perfect as stated. After a short stay I must say I understand now. It was so clean and well kept. Ken and Kathy have given so much attention to detail. Plush linens, fresh flowers, robes, cream in fridge for coffee, picnic basket, etc..... They even provide the best toilet paper and paper towels unlike some places we have stayed. We arrived to a nice bottle of wine and a freshly baked pie. The notes on the bulletin board about local restaurants and wineries were helpful. Everything we needed was available and even some things that we had not thought of. A return visit is surely in our future!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a great review. It is often a challenge to remember all the details, but as we shared with you both; we want the cottage to feel the way we would like it to be if we were traveling and staying at a vacation rental. Thanks for noticing the extra mile that we go-gives us energy for the next time you come:)))
