We enjoyed our visit to Scottish Thistle/Baddeck very much. We were very impressed with the speed that the resort attended to our call when we reported there was a problem with one of the showerheads in our condo.
I would recommend the Scottish Thistle and the entire resort to anyone I know who is travelling to Cape Breton, and we would certainly stay again at the Scottish Thistle.
We had a wonderful girls getaway weekend here. Not golfers but we enjoyed the hiking and shops close by and loved the house so much we said said twice "let's just go back to the house". It was warm and welcoming. The check in was easy as was the booking. Perfection! Highly recommend it!
My wife and I stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed the house. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Good value which would be even better with 2 couples that golf. Personnel at the Bell Bay golf course were very friendly and helpful. We drove up to the Highlands course one day and really enjoyed that also. Front desk people at Inverrary Resort were not quite sure where the condos were, so make sure you get directions.
Would definitely return here.
The lodging was very nice, modern, comfortable setting. The King and Queen bed were very comfortable. The double trundle bed was acceptable. The pullout upstairs was very uncomfortable for the couple that slept on it. Should be upgraded so that all enjoy a good nights sleep or change the advertisement to sleeps 3 couples comfortably. It is very close to Baddeck, just 1 minute away from the town, which made it convenient for picking up groceries and getting ice cream at the Blue Heron. The golf package was as advertised and enjoyable.
As the "unofficial" trip co-ordinator, the pressure was certainly on yours truly from my travel companions to deliver a vacation experience of a certain level -
I am happy to report we hit a home run. The accomodations were excellent and the weather gods certainly smiled on Cape Breton during our stay. The staff at the golf club were very accomodating and everything went off without a hitch. We are already planning to book two condos next year for an expanded group of eight.
We found the Scottish Thistle a beautifully decorated and elegant place to be while we enjoyed relaxing overlooking the Bras D’Or lake. We particularly took to the cupola with the 360 view that stretched for a great distance. This was a favourite spot to sit and read. We made good use of the barbeque and appreciated the serenity of the area. We also appreciated having all the amenities such as dishwasher, washing machine and dryer right in the unit. It was so quiet and peaceful at night and never heard road traffic. This was a perfect spot to hideaway and relax. Thank you for sharing this magical place with us.

The home is lovely and thank you for the nice welcome of the fire being turned on and the lights on.
Would love to come back on another visit. You could post this endorsement on VRBO or Capebretonresorts.com.
Thanks, Mary Jo
The property is situated on the world famous 'Cabot Trail' in the town of Baddeck. Baddeck is considered to be the start and end of the 'Cabot Trail' due to its location on the Trans-Canada Highway. Baddeck is centrally located in the heart of Cape Breton. Some attractions that are in driving range are: The Alexander Graham Bell museum, Fortress of Louisburg, Uisge Ban Falls, Salmon Camp Fishing Lodge in Margaree, Glen Breton Scotch Distillery, Margaree Beaches and the St. Ann's Gaelic College to mention a few. Also Cape Breton is very well known for its culture in Celtic Music, Baddeck is centrally located in a great area to access all venues that are held across the Island and is only approximately a one hour drive to all other Cape Breton golf courses.
