Custom luxury home nestled in a National Park-like setting. Perched next to the Big Laurel River trout stream, the home has views of the stream from most all of the many windows. Listen to the stream rushing by. Mostly private setting near the end of the road; you can see one other home but its down a ways. Gated community that is like having a park almost to yourself, there are only 16 homes within about 300 acres. A short hike up the mountain provides awe-inspiring mountain views. Guestbook comments from the manager

Wonderful place to stay. There were 5 adults and 1 child in our party, and all of us were impressed with the beautiful, spacious home, sounds of the stream, magnificent views, and privacy. We were also very pleased to see that the house was very well stocked--kitchen items, linens, everything we needed and wanted. Some of our group went tubing down the stream right in front of the house. All of us enjoyed a full day whitewater rafting on one of the days, and were pleased to come back to this beautiful home in the evening. We used the grill, sat out on the porch, roasted marshmallows, went inside and watched a DVD on the huge flat screen...We had a splendid vacation and highly recommend this home and our rental agent Deb Burks.

Forest Escape

We had a great visit to the Hot Springs area this last weekend. The Water's Edge Cabin was delightful! Cozy and comfortable but right next to great hiking and activities. Was the perfect retreat after enjoying a long walk, horse back riding or taking in the local towns. Thank you for a wonderful long weekend!

  • 5 of 5

I was so blown away just walking thru the door. This how is so comfortable in feel and looks. Our family loved our stay and the house is located in a nice secluded quiet town which is exactly what we were looking for. The house was clean and owner made it easy for us to stay.

Amazing place!

  • 5 of 5

I loved this cabin so much! We had such an amazing weekend getaway. Plenty of privacy and the most beautiful views! The cabin had everything we needed (towels, paper towels, linens, etc) and it was so clean and organized. Highly recommend. The owners were amazing at contacting you and making sure everything went smoothly!

Beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at this cabin. It was very clean and the view was so pleasant. We didn't care for the water- not sure if it was well water, but the smell was terrible. My husband is an avid outdoors man and is familiar with hunting/fishing regulations but they made it very complicated to find out the exact rules. People in town gave us different answers on the regulations too. I think what we found out was that this particular stream had "seasons" and it was only open to fish a few weeks out of the year but it's still catch and release. We were looking forward to fishing, so this was a bummer. The town is sweet and we ate at the Iron Horse one night and it was very good. They had live music. I got coffee everyday at the little coffee shop right outside of town along the river and her little shop was so sweet and quaint. Another tip is to make sure you have your main groceries with you since the only grocery stores in town are a tiny little market and the Dollar General. We have told all of our family about this and we were so happy staying here. Great little getaway. :)

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review. I will change my documents to let people know that the stream inside of our community is always open for fishing, as it isn't state managed. The streams outside of the development are state managed. Thanks for letting me know that the paperwork I send isn't clear enough on that issue. Also, thanks for letting me know about the sulphur smell. It is caused by a harmless bacteria and I can treat it with chlorine and it will go away. The particular form of bacteria likes to grow in hot water heaters. The well water at the home is an artesian well and is the kind of water you would purchase if you bought spring water, I find that it is amazingly pure water. So glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for being our guests. deb

Beautiful, quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great quiet spot on the Laurel. House was comfortable and the fireplace was great at night. Could open the windows and sit by the fireside and listen to the creek. Was awesome to have our dog here and just relax and unplug for the weekend! I'd definitely come here again.

Waters' Edge Cabin is in the same development as the Lodge at Bear River; a gorgeous setting for a wedding or event.

Hot Springs has the only natural hot water mineral springs in North Carolina, a perfect place for a natural mineral bath....don't miss it.

Rafting, hiking, fishing, and getting back to nature. The area feels like being in a National Park without all of the traffic.
