About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedroom + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Custom luxury home nestled in a National Park-like setting. Perched next to the Big Laurel River trout stream, the home has views of the stream from most all of the many windows. Listen to the stream rushing by. Mostly private setting near the end of the road; you can see one other home but its down a ways. Gated community that is like having a park almost to yourself, there are only 16 homes within about 300 acres. A short hike up the mountain provides awe-inspiring mountain views. Seven miles to the quaint village of Hot Springs and the infamous natural mineral springs for soaking in, along Spring Creek and the French Broad River for rafting and kayaking. The Appalachian Trail goes through Hot Springs and the ridgeline of the AT can be viewed within the community. Come and visit the Blue Ridge Mountains at their finest; turkey, bear, bobcat, deer, raccoon, hawks, eagles, and owls share the neighborhood. The area is famous for its hiking and water sports. Relax, enjoy nature, breathe the fresh air, sit by the mtn. stream, hike through the National Forest, fish the stream, raft the French Broad River, and rejuvenate in the mountains.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Wonderful place to stay. There were 5 adults and 1 child in our party, and all of us were impressed with the beautiful, spacious home, sounds of the stream, magnificent views, and privacy. We were also very pleased to see that the house was very well stocked--kitchen items, linens, everything we needed and wanted. Some of our group went tubing down the stream right in front of the house. All of us enjoyed a full day whitewater rafting on one of the days, and were pleased to come back to this beautiful home in the evening. We used the grill, sat out on the porch, roasted marshmallows, went inside and watched a DVD on the huge flat screen...We had a splendid vacation and highly recommend this home and our rental agent Deb Burks.

relaxation at it's best

We had a wonderful time in Hot Springs, and the home was great. The trout stream was the highlight and the sounds of the stream were marvelous. Such a peaceful retreat. Linda K.

beautiful Cabin and View

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here due to a wedding at the Lodge. This was the perfect choice as it was within walking distance (1/2 mile) along with beautiful relaxing scenery. There was nothing that we needed as everything was in the accommodations at cabin. Everything was provided for as agreed upon. The booking and communication was easy and timely. This would be a great get-a-way for any couple looking to be together and enjoy nature. Hot Springs and Marshall (proper) are a short drive away and have everything for personal needs and meals.

We will be back again.

Amazing find just about 43 minutes from Asheville

  • 5 of 5

This was an awesome place with the peace and quiet that we were looking to having on our vacation. The kids had a blast floating on tubes with ropes (we brought them) and the adults had a very special almost zen like experience sitting in the creek in our camping chairs for hours under the shaded trees. The area had a diverse ecosystem bubbling with life.

Forest Escape

  • 4 of 5

We had a great visit to the Hot Springs area this last weekend. The Water's Edge Cabin was delightful! Cozy and comfortable but right next to great hiking and activities. Was the perfect retreat after enjoying a long walk, horse back riding or taking in the local towns. Thank you for a wonderful long weekend!

Waters' Edge Cabin is in the same development as the Lodge at Bear River; a gorgeous setting for a wedding or event.

Hot Springs has the only natural hot water mineral springs in North Carolina, a perfect place for a natural mineral bath....don't miss it.

Rafting, hiking, fishing, and getting back to nature. The area feels like being in a National Park without all of the traffic.
