Custom luxury home nestled in a National Park-like setting. Perched next to the Big Laurel River trout stream, the home has views of the stream from most all of the many windows. Listen to the stream rushing by. Mostly private setting near the end of the road; you can see one other home but its down a ways. Gated community that is like having a park almost to yourself, there are only 16 homes within about 300 acres. A short hike up the mountain provides awe-inspiring mountain views. Seven miles to the quaint village of Hot Springs and the infamous natural mineral springs for soaking in, along Spring Creek and the French Broad River for rafting and kayaking. The Appalachian Trail goes through Hot Springs and the ridgeline of the AT can be viewed within the community. Come and visit the Blue Ridge Mountains at their finest; turkey, bear, bobcat, deer, raccoon, hawks, eagles, and owls share the neighborhood. The area is famous for its hiking and water sports. Relax, enjoy nature, breathe the fresh air, sit by the mtn. stream, hike through the National Forest, fish the stream, raft the French Broad River, and rejuvenate in the mountains.

It is gorgeous here, it just doesn't get any better!
The stream, the stream, the stream. Or take a walk for some of the most beautiful mountains you have ever seen.
Wonderful place to stay. There were 5 adults and 1 child in our party, and all of us were impressed with the beautiful, spacious home, sounds of the stream, magnificent views, and privacy. We were also very pleased to see that the house was very well stocked--kitchen items, linens, everything we needed and wanted. Some of our group went tubing down the stream right in front of the house. All of us enjoyed a full day whitewater rafting on one of the days, and were pleased to come back to this beautiful home in the evening. We used the grill, sat out on the porch, roasted marshmallows, went inside and watched a DVD on the huge flat screen...We had a splendid vacation and highly recommend this home and our rental agent Deb Burks.
We needed a break from the world and the house was the perfect place to do that. First time we were able to take our dogs with us and they loved the stream and the space to run around. The location of the house to the stream was great compared to the other houses that are up on the mountain so we lucked out there. Trout fishing at that time wasn't so great but who cared. Do your homework and you'll learn where the holes are. Would recommend.
Had a wonderful time. The home was beutiful and was located in very out of the way location.
If you enjoy solitude and nature this is the home for you
We just completed a two week stay at the Water's Edge cabin. Living on the SC coast we were ready to escape 100 degree temperatures and the influx of seasonal tourists. The private location of the cabin and cooler mountain air enabled us to accomplish our goal. As you step out of the cabin facing the stream you feel like you are living in a postcard. If you are looking for peace and quite this is the spot for you. The cabin is well furnished and Deb Burks is a true professional should you need anything.
We enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked a return visit in the near future.
I loved the cabin and will be visiting again. Perfect place to relax with the family. The river is beautiful and you can walk through it and take in Mother Nature.
We really enjoyed our stay. It's in a very secluded area, there are only about 14 houses located on the 800 acre development. It was very peaceful and very quiet, and we loved being on the creek. Our black lab played in the water every day and she loved it too. The cabin was nice and clean and well stocked with everything you need; plenty of sheets, blankets, towels, washer/dryer, kitchen supplies, etc. We also enjoyed the pool table upstairs. The Wi-Fi was very convenient and worked well. The beds were very comfortable, and we got plenty of good rest. I would highly recommend this cabin if you want to stay in the NC mountains.
Waters' Edge Cabin is in the same development as the Lodge at Bear River; a gorgeous setting for a wedding or event.
Hot Springs has the only natural hot water mineral springs in North Carolina, a perfect place for a natural mineral bath....don't miss it.
Rafting, hiking, fishing, and getting back to nature. The area feels like being in a National Park without all of the traffic.
