Our 1887 split-level Victorian home is located in the heart of San Francisco on a quiet street lined with late, 19th-century Victorian row houses. We are just two blocks from historic Golden Gate park and just half a block from stunning St. Ignatius cathedral on the University of San Francisco campus, established 1855.
Our large eat-in, French country kitchen is south-facing and opens up onto the garden making for a very light and airy space that is full of charm! The front of the house features a double living room where you can sit by the fire, play piano, or treat yourself to a movie from our in-house or on-demand movie library all while taking in the spectacular and inspirational ocean view from our perch on Lone Mountain - one of the oldest neighborhoods in San Francisco. There is also a large selection of Wii games for you or your children to enjoy.
The first floor master bedroom boasts a queen bed and is tastefully appointed with Asian art and furniture. The main bathroom is adjacent to this bedroom. The top floor has two bedrooms, one with an ocean view and a double sofa bed while the second room has bunk beds with a queen on the bottom and twin on top. There is a small bathroom and shower on this level.
Our lovely private backyard, is equipped with a gas heater and grill and has teak patio furniture that seats six.
Our home is two blocks away from world-famous, Golden Gate park with its newly-renovated, state-of-the-art Academy of Sciences museum/aquarium, the prize-winning architects' Herzog and DeMeuron newly-renovated De Young museum, the botanical gardens, the conservatory of flowers and the lovely Japanese tea gardens as well as the legendary Haight Ashbury district. There are three major bus lines within one block which will take you to the Pacific ocean, the city center, the Powell/Market street cable car lines, and the trendy Hayes valley district.
The city rivals New York for its fine dining and night life including multiple theaters, concert and sports venues, museums, childrens' attractions, hiking and biking, surfing, fishing, kayaking shopping and so much more.
We love this historic old house and know you will too. We are looking for those who will appreciate its charm and uniquely San Francisco character as much as we do.
Let our home be yours on your next vacation as you explore the little city by the bay and the magic of northern California!

We are a Franco-American family, lovers of food, wine, music, the arts, biking, camping and fishing. We have traveled extensively and have frequently booked our stays at homes where the level of comfort and pleasure of having our own personal space for our family have consistently been our priorities. We understand that this is what you seek as well and we are here to provide it.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
If you are looking for an ultra-comfortable stay in an historical home in one of the most sought-after areas of beautiful San Francisco then look no more!
Stayed here for a week long vacation with our two boys (11 and 13) and found the house to be absoutely fantastic for us. The two bedrooms upstairs gave the boys plenty of space for themselves in the evenings after long days of family togetherness, and having their own bathroom made getting ready to go in the mornings a breeze. The kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals if you don't feel like going out, and there is a Whole Foods and a neighborhood market nearby for grocery shopping. The neighborhood is quiet and very lovely, and you have a nice view of the Pacific from the den. The location is great as you can walk to Golden Gate Park and Haight Ashbury, and public transportation options are all very close.
Mick, the owner, is a pleasure to work with and makes the entire stay very easy. From arranging a parking pass to the well documented "user's manual" for the house it could not have been easier. Mick went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed to have a great stay.
If you are planning a trip to San Francisco, I can not recommend this home and owner highly enough.
Stayed here as parents and three young adult kids. Mick the owner was a pleasure to work with, and even got us a visitor's parking permit which made things really easy. The location is amazing -walk to Golden Gate Park, walk to everything in Haight Ashbury, and the view of a bit of the Pacific really helped. The apartment is really comfortable -not big - but very comfortable. The upstairs shower in a hallway took some getting used to (ask Mick!) but it made a great talking point!. There's a gorgeous fireplace to sit around and read in the evenings. We had a car so didn't use public transport much - but the kids did, and said it was a breeze. Supermarket very close by, and downtown SF is a 12 minute ride away (at least when we were there for Christmas week) .
I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat. Oh, and we had a week of clear blue skies and 60 degree weather in December included. Make sure you ask for that deal.
We were looking for a home far away from home for us and both of our children and that is exactly what we got! A very safe neighbourhood at walking distance from the Golden Gate Park, Haight Hashbury District, a great wholefood store for epicurians! Public transportation was the best and fastest way to get around. The house was perfect with all the commodities. Very charming and european feel to it. We appreciated the cosy backyard and tranquility of the house. It was a marvelous two weeks and we would go back anytime! The description and pictures were accurate and reflected exactly what we got. The owners had prepared a little booklet that was helpful. Thank you so much! We hope to be back soon!
