THINGS TO SEE AND DO: This area provides an excellent base to explore ancient archaeological sites as well as the usual tourist attractions eg. shops, bars, water park, etc. An hour's drive takes you to the Troodos mountains where there is a wealth of beautiful scenery. A trip to the famous monastery is a must. The Akamus is a conservation area where at certain times the sea turtles come and lay their eggs at Lara Beach. In this area there are many nature trails to explore. Off-roading in 4 wheel drive vehicles is very popular also. Not far from Coral Bay is the tiny fishing harbour of Agios Georgios where you will see fascinating sea caves. The fish tavernas here are particularly popular.Aphrodites Rock and Pissouri are worth visiting. Mini cruises to Egypt and the Pyramids are available with ships leaving from Limassol.
EATING OUT : Eating out in Cyprus is reasonable with a variety of restaurants and tavernas to suit all tastes and pockets.
Golf : There can be no better area than this for golfers seeking golf holidays in the warmth of the Eastern Mediterranean. There are 3 challenging world class golf courses within a short drive. Aphrodite Hills is a unique 5 Star Award Winning Golf Course, with magnificent views from 2 plateaux, 300m high. It plays to a Par 71 and measures 6,665 metres. It is only 2 mins from the Paphos/Limassol motorway. Tsada Golf Club is just 20 mins from Paphos, 550 metres high. It plays to a Par 72, and measures 6,120 metres. The Secret Valley Golf Course is 18k east of Paphos lying within a scenic valley with panoramic views. It plays to a Par 72 and measures 6,120 metres. All these locations, being high, ensure cool breezes during the summer months and of course Cyprus is almost guaranteed wall to wall sunshine from April to November. There is also a driving range within a ten minute drive.
Live in Cheshire, England. Bought as holiday home which we enjoy many times a year.
Barbara purchased this house in 2007
Fantastic views. Above the humidity line -therefore not so oppressive in July/August although still very hot. Great location - small, quiet, select, private development. Great pool.
Great space, underground parking to keep car cool. Dishwasher. Balcony and 2 private patios.
What can we say! It was a lovely holiday (our first in Cyprus. Your house was perfect - can't fault anything! Thank you for the food and wine you left for us - so kind of you.
Just back from a fabulous trip to Cyprus. Our stay in this beautifully appointed mountain retreat was superb. The perfect chance to switch off and relax and take in the idyllic surrounds.
We basically said goodbye to our car for the week having parked up outside the property and then choosing to walk around the quaint Tala streets.
We found several welcoming tavernas and hostelries within a few minutes walk and equally enjoyed trekking up the local hillside and visiting the working monastery.
The sun shines favourably on the property and relaxing on the balcony looking out to the coastline was just the ticket after our daily exertions.
If you are looking to wind down and to recharge the batteries as it were this really is the place to visit. We certainly look forward to returning to Tala.
Lovely apartment and pool, with fabulous views in a really nice village. We enjoyed our holiday as much as before and will return.
Having holidayed in Cyprus on a number of occasions staying in Paphos and Coral Bay, our stay in Tala has been our absolute favourite.
The apartment is lovely, being spacious and very well maintained on a quiet complex with lovely views over Paphos/Coral Bay. The pool is a good size, clean and for the majority of our holiday we had it to ourselves.
Tala is a beautiful Cypriot village with a number of very good restaurants. The Malitzia was our favourite and Marios for a daytime snack.
We hired a car for the fortnight and visited the Troodos Mountains, Coral Bay and Geriskipou Beach, also visiting the local Monastery and cat sanctuary. We just loved the location of the apartment and enjoyed our walks to the village square.
We would highly recommend a stay at this apartment and are planning to book again for next year.
Our first holiday without children for 24 years and we couldn't have chosen a better place! Wonderful accommodation and location, and yes Barbara you were right a car is needed to fully appreciate and explore the area and for the air con!!
We arrived late and it was dark and we got lost! Called Tina (who helps run the house) and she and her partner were a brilliant help - a big thank you to you both!
Also a big thank you to Barbara for your flexibility with times and all your very helpful and reassuring emails, especially as we only booked 4 days before we went!! Really, really appreciated.
The house has everything you need - even a cool box (with ice packs) which is brilliant if you intend taking a picnic out.
Also house and beach towels supplied so no need to worry about the weight in your case - marvellous!
We, for a time, were the only ones in the small complex and it was like having your own private villa and pool! Brilliant!
We ate in a few times and being able to dine on the balcony with the fantastic views and warm breeze was amazing and so relaxing.
Tala viliage is a 10 minute stroll down hill (and for me a 20 minute walk back up) and has some lovely restaurants - Friday night is good with a bbq at Masa Soura (and the family dance too!) - booking recommended though so as not to be disappointed. Owners extremely welcoming and friendly.
The Tomb of the Kings is a really interesting visit - take water, hat and suncream.
Coral Bay Beach is sandy but busy, and that's understandable as it is lovely and the water so warm.
The open top bus tour of Pahpos is a well worth trip - 10 euro for a 1 hour circular trip or 12.50 euro for 24 hour hop on and hop off service. If we hadn't of done this we would have missed 2/3's of the area!
We stayed for 9 days and we would have liked to have stayed longer.
We were able to wind down and relax in Tala, but if you want more night life we were told Paphos was the place to go.
Brilliant, brilliant holiday - The accommodation and weather really made it - Thank you all again.
Sue and Aidan, Liverpool, England
we had a simply lovely time staying at this house in tala. it was very clean and comfortable with great views and a lot of peace! a car is needed to get into paphos.the pool was spotless cant fault anything! thank you.
We had a very nice holiday staying at the apartment. It's situated in a very convenient location for exploring, grocery shopping and for eating out. It's also very quiet at night giving us a good rest. It's also great to cool down in the pool, because the weather was quite hot in September.
Tala village is within walking distance of the house offering bars, tavernas, cafes delicatessen, bakery and supermarket. Tala is a peaceful upmarket residential area ideal for families but with all amenities close by. Tala is a 10 drive from Paphos centre and 10 minutes to Coral Bay with its 2 large sandy beaches with loungers and parasols available for hire. Coral Bay is a hive of activity with a fully lined street of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops etc. Also within a few minutes drive of Coral Bay are the spectacular Sea Caves and the tiny fishing harbour of Agios Georgios. From Tala you have easy access to Polis & the fishing village of Latchi where there is a marina and great fish restaurants. For golfers you are within a short drive from no less than 3 World Class golf courses( further information in the golf section). Round the corner is Tala Monastery, nestled in the pine covered mountains where there is a cafe and a souvenir shop. Remember to book early for cheaper flights
Other Activities: Go-karts, waterpark, jeep safaris, paintball, mini golf, driving range
Golf: . For golfers you are within a short drive from no less than 3 World Class golf courses plus a driving range only ten minutes away. Remember the earlier you book, the cheaper the flights!
Ski: Yes, you can even ski in Cyprus! The season is very short - just a few weeks between December and March. The weather is usually bright and sunny and many local residents wear little more than light clothes and sandals! There are six different ski runs on four different slopes all of Alpine standard and varying in length from 100-500m. Sun Valley 1 for beginners, Sun Valley 2 for more proficient skiers and North Face 1 & 2 for the more experienced. Although the Troodos ski resort can never compete with the European ones it is nevertheless popular as it is friendly & welcomes skiers of all levels of experience. The atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed as skiers can comfortably walk around with old skis and clothes - no designer trendsetters here! You can hire everything you need, skis, snowboards and toboggans. You can be ski-ing in the morning and sunbathing in the afternoon!
