The Hampton Hideaway provides an unmatched serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city. This was the home of Wilmer Hampton, founder of Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort and is nestled in a valley of 20 acres of cherry orchards and 600 acres of forest. The Hideaway is located about 6 miles (15 minutes) from the Hampton Lodge at Mission Ridge and about 15 minutes from downtown Wenatchee. Close enough to enjoy the town and far enough to have the out in the country feel.
Enjoy walking through the forest along an old logging road or make your own trail. Climb a hill for a great view of the sunrise. Glide down our sledding hill for some wintertime fun. Taste a few sweet cherries during our July harvest. Find a quiet spot for a picnic. Gaze upon the deer feeding in the early morning or listen to the owls hooting at night. Enjoy the view of a star-filled sky while relaxing in your private 8 seat hot tub.
The Hampton Hideaway is furnished with 3 queen beds in separate rooms and 3 twin beds in one room, cotton linens and down blankets. The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 9. A comfortable living room has large screen TV, DVD/ Blu-ray player and complimentary Netflix and wireless internet service.
The 1940’s Hampton Hideaway barn is now available as an event venue. See our web site or HamptonHideaway Facebook page for more information. The barn and our vacation rentals make a great country wedding package. Renting the Hideaway with the Hampton Homestead (VRBO.com/653723) allows a group of 15 to stay close together.
Whether you are planning a family vacation, a quick weekend getaway or are visiting for business, the Wenatchee Valley has an adventure for you. With four distinct seasons, 300 sunshine-filled days a year, a river running through town and mountains so close you can touch them, your stay in Wenatchee Valley will be memorable.
Greg and JoAnn look forward to welcoming you to their home.

About JoAnn Hampton
Greg Hampton was born and raised in Wenatchee. His dad, Wilmer, founded Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort. Greg is an avid skier and was a ski jumper as a kid. He and JoAnn met while serving as Air Force officers at a US base in England. They were married in her home town in New Jersey. After their active duty tours were over, they settled on the family homestead in the Squilchuck area of Wenatchee. Greg manages the family orchard and teaches mathematics at the community college. JoAnn is a home health physical therapist. They have four children, two son-in-laws, and four grandchildren.
JoAnn Hampton purchased this Farmhouse in 1943
Why JoAnn Hampton chose Chelan County
This property has been in the Hampton family for over 100 years. The original homestead was built in the early 1900's. The Hideaway was built by second generation Hamptons in the 1940's, with the most recent remodel in 2011. Greg and JoAnn are 3rd generation Hamptons and built their home on the hill over looking the orchards.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Before Greg and JoAnn moved back to Wenatchee, they would visit his Mom who lived in what we now call the Hampton Hideaway. It was always a pleasure to watch the sunrise from the living room. Our children loved having cinnamon toast with Grammie Hampton while the sun came up.

This is our go to place in the winter for a quick get away. We have a large group and there is something for everyone. Part of our group goes skiing at Mission Ridge, others go to Leavenworth and others just hang out. The house is nicely set up with toys for the kids, large living room with a nice television and comfy chairs, large table for eating and games and best of all the hot tub is always great. Greg and JoAnn are wonderful hosts! Thank you for sharing your great place with our family.
LeaAnn, Thank you for the wonderful review. It's always nice to know that our guests like to return to our Hideaway! Greg and JoAnn
Charming, comfortable and clean!
We enjoyed our stay with friends at the Hideaway and will always cherish the memories it offered! The house had great space for our group and was very well stocked, organized and clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable! Having a place to stay with the charm of the farm house and amazing land was a treat. We enjoyed using the hot tub too. Thank you JoAnn for sharing your home and for being such great hosts.
Hampton Hideaway = awesome
Great little house that holds a lot more than it looks. 6 beds, 3 queens, 3 twins. 2 1/2 baths helps distribute the bathroom usage. It's cozy and clean. Hot tub is an awesome feature, just feet from the mud room door. Lots and lots of towels! Easy to follow instructions for using the house.
Little storage spots all over the bedrooms. Hi speed internet was simple and dependable. Lots of room to park. Being only 10 minutes or so from Mission Ridge made for a very easy drive back after days on snow.
Marc, thanks for choosing our home for your ski trip. Glad you enjoyed the hot tub. Hope to see you again. JoAnn and Greg
A Wonderful Spot
Our families enjoyed a relaxing return visit to the Hampton Hideaway. Cozy, clean, quiet, beautiful and well-equipped. We couldn't ask for more. Thank you JoAnn and Greg for another happy time.
Ann, It is always a pleasure to have you stay at the Hideaway. So happy that you enjoy our home. Looking forward to your next visit. Greg and JoAnn
Beautiful place. Short drive to either town or Mission Ridge.
Greg, We're glad you enjoyed your stay at the Hampton Hideaway. Greg and JoAnn
Helpful hosts and nice house for groups.
This is our second time here and we love the large land parcel, location, and arrangements for bigger groups. Helpful hosts, too.
Erik, We are glad your school group enjoyed staying at the Hampton Hideaway and Homestead for your ski trip. Having both houses has been nice for groups to easily get together or have room to spread out. Hope to see you again. Greg and JoAnn
Just 2 miles up the main road is Squilchuck State Park where you can go hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding, and inner tubing. Another 4 miles gets you to Mission Ridge for skiing and snowboarding. Have a picnic and let the kids play on great playground equipment at Lincoln Park on your way downtown. A popular hike up Saddle Rock for a sunrise view is just 15 minutes away. For the less adventurous, the big picture window in the living room offers a warm and cozy sunrise view! Ohme Gardens is about 25 minutes away and offers breathtaking views. Downtown Wenatchee offers a variety of dining options, wine tasting and winery tours, pubs and breweries, shopping and entertainment. Wenatchee Riverfront Park and the Columbia River are great for walking, biking, swimming, and boat launching. Golfing 20-25 minutes away at the Highlander Golf Club or Three Lakes Golf Club.
