Wenatchee Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Farmhouse, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

The Hampton Hideaway provides an unmatched serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city. This was the home of Wilmer Hampton, founder of Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort and is nestled in a valley of 20 acres of cherry orchards and 600 acres of forest. We have an active cherry orchard, so please consider any sensitivities or allergies you might have when planning your stay. As a courtesy to guests with allergies, we do not allow pets or smoking in our home. The Hideaway is located about 6 miles (15 minutes) from the Hampton Lodge at Mission Ridge and about 15 minutes from downtown Wenatchee. Close enough to enjoy the town and far enough to have the out in the country feel.

Enjoy walking through the forest along an old logging road or make your own trail. Climb a hill for a great view of the sunrise. Glide down our sledding hill for some wintertime fun. Taste a few sweet cherries during our July harvest. Find a quiet spot for a picnic. Gaze upon the deer feeding in the early morning or listen to the owls hooting at night. Enjoy the view of a star-filled sky while relaxing in your private hot tub.

The Hampton Hideaway is furnished with 3 queen beds in separate rooms and 3 twin beds in one room, cotton linens and down blankets. The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 9. A comfortable living room has large screen TV, DVD/ Blu-ray player and complimentary Netflix and wireless internet service.

The 1940’s Hampton Hideaway barn is now available as an event venue. See our web site or HamptonHideaway Facebook page for more information. The barn and our vacation rentals make a great country wedding package. Renting the Hideaway with the Hampton Homestead (VRBO.com/653723) allows a group of 15 to stay close together.

Whether you are planning a family vacation, a quick weekend getaway or are visiting for business, the Wenatchee Valley has an adventure for you. With four distinct seasons, 300 sunshine-filled days a year, a river running through town and mountains so close you can touch them, your stay in Wenatchee Valley will be memorable.

Greg and JoAnn look forward to welcoming you to their home.

About JoAnn Hampton

Greg Hampton was born and raised in Wenatchee. His dad, Wilmer, founded Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort. Greg is an avid skier and was a ski jumper as a kid. He and JoAnn met while serving as Air Force officers at a US base in England. They were married in her home town in New Jersey. After their active duty tours were over, they settled on the family homestead in the Squilchuck area of Wenatchee.

Greg manages the family orchard and teaches mathematics at the community college. JoAnn is a home health physical therapist. They have four children, two son-in-laws, and four grandchildren.

JoAnn Hampton purchased this farmhouse in 1943

Why JoAnn Hampton chose Central Cascade Mountains

This property has been in the Hampton family for over 100 years. The original homestead was built in the early 1900's. The Hideaway was built by second generation Hamptons in the 1940's, with the most recent remodel in 2011. Greg and JoAnn are 3rd generation Hamptons and built their home on the hill over looking the orchards.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Before Greg and JoAnn moved back to Wenatchee, they would visit his Mom who lived in what we now call the Hampton Hideaway. It was always a pleasure to watch the sunrise from the living room. Our children loved having cinnamon toast with Grammie Hampton while the sun came up.

Charming house with everything you could possibly need provided. Plenty of room with one bedroom on the ground floor and several more beds upstairs. Very well equipped kitchen makes it easy to cook any kind of meal and serve it up in style. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable.

Beautiful Home in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

We visited recently with 6 adults and several kids over the weekend of Aug 13/14. This is a beautiful property, very well maintained, amidst mountains. Very well stocked home. Lots of place to play. Joann and Greg are awesome hosts. We even got a full refund on our deposit and no additional cleaning fee. We will visit again next summer.

Great place for our 1st family reunion/vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We have a very big family now that four of our nine children are married, and staying at the Hampton Hideaway and Homestead turned out to be just the right place for all of us to enjoy.

There was plenty of room, lots of beds, everything clean and very comfortable. The hot tub was fun to relax in and look up at the stars. Watching the deer frolick in the field adjacent to the yard was enoyed by all. As was playing in the huge yard ourselves, a giant water balloon fight, capture the flag game, lawn bowling by the men, running through the sprinklers (the adults too), were just some of the fun had in our three day stay. The Homestead provided a really large living room, and great streamed movies were enjoyed by all when we needed a rest.

Hiking in the area, and just going for walks on the property to enjoy the panoramic view, as well as entering a 5K fun run in downtown Wenatchee added to our experience. From the oldest to the youngest everyone had a wonderful time.

Our 2 year old gradson summed it up best when he said he didn't want to go home, he wanted to stay here at Grandma and Grandpa's new house! We will look forward to other opportunities to return. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and at home!

Relaxing Getaway Close to Town

  • 5 of 5

I never really want to review this house because I want to keep it a secret so we can have it all to ourselves, but, here it is... We love the Hampton Hideaway. This was our third stay. The property is amazing and peaceful. The Hamptons have provided so much for kids of any age to do in the house, including outdoor activities like bocce, and indoor activities like board games, toys, and DVDs. The kitchen is fully loaded, and we always have an easy time using the grill. The house is both spacious and quaint. We love that it is always spotless & clean when we arrive. We spend an equal amount of time on the property as we do in town. It doesn't take long to get into town and use the great amenities around the downtown area and the river. This is a fabulous property with amazing owners and we will continue to stay.
