Enjoy swimming, kayaking, fishing, island hopping and more in the clean and clear lake. What makes Lake St. George so special is its secluded, yet central location in mid-coast Maine, only minutes from the ocean -- 20 minutes from historic coastal Belfast, 45 mins. from Augusta to west and Camden/Rockport to east, Damariscotta to south, and only 30 mins. south to Blueberry Pie at Moody's Diner and the awesome gourmet delights at Morse's Deli! The lake is rated second in Maine for water quality--our lake association pays close attention to every boat at the public launch! You'll find a few casual local hangouts for dinner or take-out, John’s famous and delicious homemade ice cream 3 mins away...and there's always pick-up groceries, pizza or movie rentals at the local gas station! Fine dining is as close as Lincolnville, and great shopping/art/culture in Camden/Rockport! Fun day trips include north to Acadia and Bar Harbor, or south to Freeport, Boothbay, Pemaquid Beach, Monhegan Island, etc. The ocean isn't far at all, if you can drag yourself away from the lake!

I live in California with my son but grew up in Liberty, Maine. Here in CA, I am a massage therapist and nutritionist and work very hard to be able to come to Maine every season.
Tara Marple purchased this cabin in 2010
It is the perfect spot! Close to places to eat and to the coast, but also quiet and friendly. There are toiletries, linens, curling iron, blow dryer and all kitchen appliances included.
I really enjoy this home - I have traveled quite a bit and I think this is the most perfect spot I have ever visited. My family lives in Maine so I get to see them and enjoy the lake with my 13 nieces and nephews as well as my son. There are special things about each part of the day - the sun shining on the lake and into my living room, eating breakfast at the table and watching this is heaven. Also the moon in the evening shines so brightly while I listen to the loons and the crickets. Sometimes at night, I can hear the neighbor's horses running wild. At sunset, this location is still enjoying the sun for an hour or so after the rest of the camps because of the higher location. After supper we go to John's ice cream and rush back to sit on the grass and enjoy the peace. I love to go running on the dirt road and hiking up the mountain and my son loves to fish and kayak, while exploring the mini islands in the lake. I once swam across the whole lake on a kickboard and he cheered me on! There is plenty of space for kids to run around on the grass and there is also a horseshoe pit and stone fire pit. The best, most relaxing fun you'll ever have.
The positive: It's a very beautiful lake.... crystal clear. The house comes w two kayaks and a paddle board. ( fun ! ) There's a wonderful granite beach with huge rocks within walking distance. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. It's a quiet, safe and friendly area and you can hear the loons at night. There's a great breakfast place right up the road.
The cons: the house is not lakefront..... (although it's VERY close.) The dock is kind of high above the water and a small steep rock area make it a bit difficult to get the kayaks in and out of the water.
It is cozy and comfortable and located on a wonderful camp road. Ideal for families. We had use of the two kayaks and paddleboard! We enjoyed watching the loons swim by the dock and the glassy water in the evening. Camp was inviting with comfy beds and kids loved the air hockey table and fooseball table.
Comfortable beds. Front door needs to be planed to open easier. I would recommend to others for sure.
We had a wonderful stay here! The cabin is well equipped with everything that you could need. Nicely decorated. The yard is excellent for children and pets. The beach access is close. Excellent stay and would come back again!
Liberty is about 25 minutes from the ocean. Belfast and Camden are fun and quaint towns to hang out in and have great food. Camden has gorgeous sailboats for sunset sails. July is berry season and about 30 minutes away is self pick fields, or roadside stands along Rte 3. About 5 minutes drive is the State Park where there is a boat launch and a lifeguard/picnic park. A very fun area to embrace summer!
