After spending a few seasons working at ASU and then transferring to Florida, we missed the Boone area so much, we purchased this as a second home and wish to share it while we are stuck in the heat!
Jeanne Dillman purchased this cabin in 2011
With easy access to downtown Boone, the ski slopes or off to Grandfather Mountain for hiking for every skill level and age, we could not pass up on the opportunity to purchase this property!
The sunrise at 'Above It All' is truly inspiring and ever-changing - for those looking for peace quiet and total privacy, but still with easy access into the towns, this is the rental for you!
We traveled from sunny Florida and arrived to find snow on the ground! Our kids were delighted. Your home has been very comfortable and the fire pit was a main attraction and have come full circle. Hate to go-it's been a relaxing vacation.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay June 2-9, 2013. The view was amazing and the cabin was very clean and spacious and in a terrific location. We enjoyed day trips to Grandfather mountain, downtown Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk, and Tweetsie's Park. The fire pit and hot tub were perfect in the evenings. It was such a relaxing getaway that we can't wait to go back!
We had a great time staying at Zionville Above It All property. The weather was warm so we didn't need four wheel drive. But if you are planning a trip here you need to check before going because you will need four wheel drive if it is snowing or sleeting the drive way is steep. The rental property is real nice with plenty of room. We will plan on going back again. They also had a Christmas tree put up so we didn't have to put ours up. The view is great. We do recommend this property.
The house is spacious and very clean. The layout makes it perfect for children and adults with everyone having their own space.
The only negative was the driveway was difficult to navigate without 4-wheel drive. April, the property manager was very helpful and very
nice to deal with regarding questions. The kitchen was well equipped. Directions for lighting the oven and the outside grill would be helpful.
The property manager was very nice to deal with. Worked hard to keep guest comfortable, making sure things were provided. Really loved this place! You won't be disappointed if you decide to vacation.. You better not take my time slot for next year. Lol...
The "Above It All" property suited our family configuration so well. We had 5 adults and three little children 5 and under. We were there the end of August of this year. The bottom floor was perfect for the 2 bigger children and the bedrooms were spacious enough to hold the rest of us. The property manager was very responsive when we had questions. The house was so close to downtown Boone. Very convenient. Once we encountered the driveway up to the house it was a piece of cake. I can imagine it would be harder in winter, but the incline is not severe and manageable. We were comfortable with enough room for children to play. There were places for the adults to relax which was so nice. There were a few small issues that were addressed immediately by the property manager. All-in-all, a great vacation.
The location of the house is very convenient to town, and we did not have any problem getting up steep hill to the house in our minivan. The neighborhood is friendly. The view was very nice, although it was better appreciated from the deck than from sitting inside the house . The house is large and can accommodate a lot of people. Of note is the fact that this is a three level house, and the master bedroom is on the third level. The maintenance and cleanliness of the house were fine. We biked the Virginia Creeper Trail on our trip, which was only 45 minutes from the house and was great. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.
